Kjt - I get the He's on Green confusing so will leave someone else to answer that one. I think i get confused as you can have cheese as a b or maybe im wrong?

really appreciate the thanks and appreciations. I don't post much but am always reading. I also got my 3 stone award and fit into size 12 jeans. My boss reported i looked "very tired and thin" to my other boss as I've been off sick a while. So bye bye 43.5 pounds. :o Never to be seen again. :D

Just don't know how to work around target now. I would rather go the increased syn route but Maman, as you said -the target book doesn't really give much information - despite having lots of words. I normally save my syns and have 66 a week excluding a treat on weigh in night which is never counted. Now i have no idea how to play it. SW is my way of eating now and i would rather not eat more bread or cheese - i feel there's enough in my diet already and like alternative lunches.

    So all advice is welcome.

Flat Eric, nice to see you back on the thread. You will get there in the end missus, stick at it.

Has Piglet been on? Hope she is ok as i don't remember reading her post. So many new faces, it's lovely to see:A

Poohbear- nice to see you back. Try not to be hard on yourself. If you save the magazines there is a very good article about guilt and forgiving yourself - worth reading x Sometimes life just gets in the way

    Hi Everyone!

I haven't posted on this thread before, but I've been a SW member since May, and tonight I've just received my 2 stone award.

I'm really keen to keep up the progress, but I'm catering for a family 'do' on saturday (7 adults, 1 toddler) and I'm struggling! No-one else in my family is dieting, and my son is dairy intolerant.

I was thinking of doing a buffet - does anyone have any ideas on how I can make it a decent offering without there being loads of stuff to tempt me?

welcome - I do a lot of entertaining and am known for making it completely SW-friendly without anyone else knowing!

I had guests staying last weekend and every single meal for the weekend was SW so it can easily be done. The whole point is that this program is not a diet as such but food optimizing and you'll be putting out good healthy food for your guests and they'll not think anything more than that.

I'll be happy to help you put together some ideas if you let me know what kind of food you're thinking of doing.

    Hi everyone.
I normally do EE but i've been looking at red and green days and I just can't get my head around them. This is todays menu:

B - Fruit and fibre (heb) milk (hea) Apple.
L - 2 scan bran with philadelphia extra light (3 syns) Pear, blueberries and Hifi bar (6 syns)
D - Salmon, rice noodles and veg. Will have a bowl of fruit after with a muller light.

So could this be a green day if I weigh my salmon? and that would be my second heb? then I could also have another hea?
Or have I got it completely wrong which is highly likely :rotfl:.

Thanks in advance and well done Zippy, must feel amazing to get to target :j.

yes, if you measure the salmon it could be a green day.

certain extra/light philly can count as a HEA so you could check if yours does and save the syns by using your second HEA. check the green specific list, the cheese section is extended. it would have to be a HEA as yove at least three possible Bs already. have you counted the scan bran as well? i never used to eat it so i dont know exactly what it syns as but i remember it is a HEB too so in that case you'd be adding more syns as you would have had 3 HEBs.

also, if you are going to do green/red, don't concentrate so much on the HEs. i know this sounds preachy (sorry!) :o but you aren't eating nearly enough of the free stuff on that list. syns and HE are supposed to supplement, not make up the bulk of a day.

Thanks for the offer of help, Mediterranean Mum. I have a few ideas so far:

    Bowl of mixed salad
New potatoes (dairy free marg on side)
DF mini sausage rolls (I can resist those!)
    Gammon joint - sliced

    Afters:
    Birthday cake
    Fresh fruit

Aside from this I'm struggling. I don't feel like I have enough savoury stuff.

    • cold meats like ham, chicken drumsticks etc
    • theres a red recipe for some thai bites (on cover of the red book) that could be good finger food but apparently the recipe as it is is very spicy. theres an onion bhaji one around too. falafels are low syn each too and along the same vein.
    • can you do veg crudites and houmous? (HEB/syn for you)
    • hard boiled eggs

thats me out of ideas :rotfl:

    mini meatballs in tomato sauce
lettuce cups with stirfried something (pork chicken etc)
SW wedges and some sort of dip thing (salsa, mint ryita type thing)

hmm im out of ideas now too lol

the pizza chicken tasted amazing! had it with green beans, savoy cabbage and 3 mini baby boileds. the sauce had pasatta, onion, mushrooms, tomato puree, various chopped tomatoes and an 1/2 orange pepper, soy sauce, wuster juice and herbs. and the bonus is, there is enough sauce left over that i can use it for something over the next few days too. and i used my HEA for a 20g slice of kerry low low to go on top which melted :D
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

Lost 1.5 lbs at WI tonight. Tad annoying that I'm doing loads of exercise and people around me do none at all and still lose the same or more. What I will say though is that I think my body is getting more toned.
  • Just back from WI and can report a loss of just 1lb.
Re set my target last week so got 4 more to go. Here's hoping! .... :)

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!
