:wave:Good luck everyone for this week's WIs!

Welcome back from US evilsquid and Shellihollie. I know exactly what you mean about craving veg after a holiday. In NYC I adored the breakfasts in the diner ( home fries, bacon and eggs) but that was before SW! I think it's true of most restaurant eating. It's very rare there's moe than a garnish of veg, often it's covered in butter or oil and when you have a salad it comes with loads of syns in the dressing. I always crave veg when I get home.

Glad the weekend went well mm and that you're starting to feel more yourself.

:Teric on giving it another go. I'm sure if you can stay with it for long enough to start to see a difference you'll be on a roll. Post often.

:T:jCH27. Your loss is good but I bet you got WoY for being so kind and helpful like you are on here!:D

I've been feeling out of sorts over the weekend and so food has suffered. I didn't eat much at all and what I had was fairly rubbishy (crisps and Crunchies were involved:eek:). The plus side was that no wine syns were consumed so that may have balanced things out a bit. Feeling more myself today. Appetitie not totally returned but will try to eat on plan.

    Today's menu:
B: HEB toast, baked beans, HEA milk for teas, cherries
L: not hungry at all yet but have ham, chicken and bananas to graze on
D: fish, new potatoes, green beans, mushrooms, tomatoes
Syns: 5 in fish as it's lightly dusted
  • My Mum always goes crazy for the salads served over here in restaurants or meals served with salads - salad is a main course in many restaurants here and the size of them is humungous!

Hi guys...first weigh in tonight (eek!!) had a mainly good week - however I had such a huge binge the couple of days before I weighed in for the first time last week that I'm sure I gained a couple more pounds off that so time will tell how things go!

Just wondering what you guys do when you have an evening weigh in - I normally would weigh at home starkers and first thing in the morning - obviously out of the question if I'm going to be allowed back to group!

Also what do you do for food on a weigh in day? I was thinking about keeping it light and also I don't know what to do about liquids...I normally drink a couple of L a day of water but don't want my good efforts lost on the scales because of fluid...what you think?

This is something that was discussed in our group last thursday evening. Most weekly members were off on their jollies so more attention was given to the newbies. Consultant mentioned that if you have had a binge prior to joining you will infact get a better/bigger loss the second week as the first weigh in will show your binge weight.

I swapped from a morning group to an evening one so had 4 days between weigh ins and this showed a 1.5lb gain that week but that has been the only gain i have had.

I eat normally through the day and have my evening meal at 6pm and a drink around the same time WI is then around 7.30pm. I think if you are considering eating differently on WI days you may feel hungrier on those days than any other balanced days - you dont want to end up like some from my group and be in the queue for the local chippy on the way home because you are starving.

So very true. Though I tend to eat at 4 with the kids, then take a piece of fruit with me to have while at group.

For those of you looking for a yummmy salad dressing. Put a mix of dark salad greens together, add pieces of pineapple, apple, orange, cooked turkey or ham or chicken. and top it with this.

    Sunny Citrus Salad.

    80ml of fresh OJ
1 Tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive oil (Healthy Extra B or 6 syns)
30 ml of Balsamic Vinegar (2x tablespoons)
    salt and pepper to taste.
Mix the lot in a container that you can put in the fridge as it will top a few salads. Shake well before you pour it on though.
Goes great with oven cooked jackets potatoes or wedges on the side, you will be sure to have at least half a plate of super free that way ;)

I would say the best way to follow it up is with a coconut creme pie... but I am still hunting for a recipe that doesn't burn through at least a weeks worth of syns for a slice.:rotfl:

    Hi all:j

Hope you don't mind me popping in - well I did re-join SW a couple of weeks ago, along with my daughter - I really joined for her sake LOL. Although I was a SW member a long time ago, I never really got to target - but still follow the principles more or less at home. I'm great at maintaining - not so great at actually getting to the weight that I want to maintain at IYSWIM:D

We have both lost 4 1/2 lbs - well last week she had a maintain, where I put on half a pound:mad:. So going in the right direction & I have totally stopped weighing at home. Trouble is every week we have a meal out that we have no control or choice over, it is served at the sports club we go to, so that is always a loose cannon....but the meal yesterday was so horrible that we hardly ate anything at all:rotfl:

I wonder if anyone has any ideas of a fairly quick SW meal I can make with l/o roast chicken? We eat anything, but I have had no time today as had tree men here all morning, then another garden man coming at 5.30 to quote for something so now have limited time. I had planned to do a curry, but not much time & it is really unpleasant & hot, very close now, so don't want to spend hours in kitchen LOL

Any ideas people? So far today had:

    B: Rice, yog & fruit
    snacks - more fruit
L: Pasta ham turkey toms boiled egg tsp salad cram
    snack - yet more fruit

D:??????? mind is a blank, have most ingredients .... not too much salad left as shopping tomoz after WI

    :D

Im just not sure what to expect, has it changed a lot, the last time I went was about 5 years ago?
Im a bit nervous but going with SIL for moral support, then once I know what il be eating Il do a good shop tomorrow.;)

Good Luck, expect a warm friendly group, full of ideas and support to help you reach your 'happy self'. Your consultant will sit down with you and go through the different meal plans, prolly ring or email you through the week too.
