Well if nothing else this last 3 days have taught me that if we are told to diet for medical reasons we'll do it without any question and without any cheating.
I was given this really strict regime to prepare me for my colonoscopy and I've stuck to it rigidly. At the same time, because I have a house full of guests this coming weekend, I've spent the whole day in the kitchen today preparing food and not one crumb has gone past my lips. All I've been allowed to eat/drink today is clear chicken soup and water.
Now if only I could convert that attitude into everyday life and convince myself that what I have to do is for medical reasons and I must stick to it 100% in order to be well.Mediterranean Mum

Well done on the loss Stef and for upping the SFs. I think if you do that all week you'll see a bigger loss next week - the SFs just get things moving IYSWIM!!!Mediterranean Mum

Good luck today MedMum. xxx
I have had a fab week so far - loads of SF and minimal syns ready for BFFs 40th party tomorrow. Gin fest here I come!! I think SW must finally be getting ingrained into my brain cos in the past I would say - oh sod it, I'm having a big night out on sat so the whole week might as well be a pig out - but now I'm thinking that if I am v v good for the other 6 days I can have my 1 day to "live" and not do too much damage.Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000
Current mortgage £28,0000 -
I'm creeping in for the twentieth time.....
This time is different though. I have now joined a group, a really good one at that, and it makes such a difference. Had my first weigh in last night, was so scared but I lost 4.5lb so I'm definitely focussed on it all now. Everytime I want something bad, rather than just saying 'sod it I'll just be good from now on' I think of how I'll feel if I got on the scales and was disappointed with what I saw.

I think that's exactly how it works. The plan is based on having syns as 'treats', you're just storing yours up for Saturday night. Have a great time!
EE menu for today:
B: HEB toast, HEA milk, scrambled eggs, squirt of brown sauce (0.5?)
L: smoked salmon steak and stir fried vegchicken jumbalaya (includes rice, tomatoes, courgette, carrots, peas, peppers, onion)
Syns: only sauce at the moment
Great loss littlestar, just what you need to motivate you!0 -
Am having a happy day for a change
my son has passed his driving test 1st time today. I am so proud of him and so relieved as I think I was more nervous than he was :rotfl:
Anyway a big welcome to all the newbies and well done to all the big losers in here. So much motivation and encouragement goes on in here its the best place to be :A:A:A
Anyone been watching the Hairy Dieters? Some nice recipes which although low calorie already could also be made sw friendly. Am def gonna do the cassoulet and the skinny beef lasagne. Hubby wants to try the minced beef and potato pies [made with pizza dough] from last nights programme so will do them for him and son. Might try one myself as its low calorie even though am not sure how to work out the syn value.
Keep the faith peeps :AIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

:T to your DS! What a relief.
I've been watching the programme too and enjoying it. Like you said, it has good ideas for healthy meals that are a 'good plate of food' as they keep saying. I'm not sure how friendly you could make the pies though. DH asked whether we should have wraps and I looked up the syns. One wrap was more than two slices of bread and couldn't count as HEX.
I think the safest thing for pies would be to just make a syn free filling and a pastry topping and syn that. They seemed a bit obsessed with having things portable last night but when they went for the picnic their mates brought stuff in boxes. Personally I'd have done the Nicoise properly with new potatoes and put it in a box.0 -
Just dropping in very quickly to let everyone know I'm alive and kicking! Passed with flying colours and the doctor said I was very "clean"!!!!!!
Please like c**p now though and totally wiped out - just as well I did all the cooking yesterday and this morning before going to the hospital.
Have a great weekend everyone.Mediterranean Mum
