Well girls (and guys) I am bouncing off the ceiling....

4.5lb off for me this week :D, then I won the raffle (big box of veg), then I was awarded slimmer of the week (big bag of fruit, fridge magnet & certificate), .... then I was told that I had been voted our group's Woman of the Year :j- I was given a sash, a certificate and a bunch of flowers and I nearly cried.

I am so shocked but delighted and a wee bit embarassed that I cleared the board and won the lot this week. :o

    Hi all

    Kandfsmam - well done, that's fab! :j

Medmum- poor you, don't envy you. you never know, your friend might be happy to help, or maybe some of his enthusiasm will motivate you?

Gingerfurball- I definitely wouldn't diet the day before joining a fat club, partly because it might reduce the loss next week but mainly cos I like a nice big blow out before starting properly (and that, ladies and gentleman, is why I'm so fat! :rotfl:)

Kjm - I got that takeaway book a few months ago but have to admit I have only flicked through it once and now it's gathering dust on a shelf somewhere *shame at being a bad MSEr* Mainly got it to make stuff for OH to wean him off junk but he's been quite good at staying off the McD's so far. That sauce sounds good though, will have to try it.

Got WI tonight - hoping for 2lb to get my 3st, but any loss would be nice. Have stuck to it and done a bit of walking this week so no reason not to. Had a quick swim on the sea on Sat but the water was bl**dy freezing (OH and my bro didn't even get to waist height, soft girl here dived straight in and stayed in to prove a point!) but isn't cold water meant to speed up your metabolism?!

Off to the pub in a bit to see a mate and for a pre-WI half a diet coke- no more or it might show up on the scales! Will have a few games of darts as a distraction. Actually been thinking about joining OH's darts league as they are asking for new players - I am pretty rubbish but I have beaten him a few times (pure luck - he's pretty good) and I have noticed when I play my tricep hurts the next day, so would maybe be good to tone one bingo wing?! :D

Anyway, enough waffle - EE today:
    B: Oats (B), milk (A), 0% greek yog, nectarine
L: L/O Caribbean pork stir fry
    T: Haven't thought about it yet :o
S: Couple of sweets in work (4-5 syns), caramel Rocky (5)

    :)

Good morning everyone - I popped in last week to say I would be joining SW this evening - hubby and I have been away at the most amazing hotel - the food was 5* and I indulged in every bite. Time to get stuck in now!

A question though - if you were joining tonght - would you diet today or leave it to tomorrow!!

    I'd start tomorrow :D

K&F that is amazing. :T Well done.

I've maintained this week which is a blooming miracle:o

  • Thanks for the replies...it doesn't take much encouragement for me to have a blow out!! I had a massive ham and cheese baguette for lunch - sweet and sour chicken for tea tonight - and I might have a wee glass of wine :)

Gosh that's some amazing weight losses! Well done you guys!! I hope I can do well too :D

You poor soul MM, I have to say I'd be tempted to get a load of apple cider, stir it with a metal spoon until it goes flat then drink it til I was plastered!! Hope you're OK. xxx

Unfortunately K&F the apple cider here isn't like in the UK - apple cider is just a name!!!! not an ounce of alcohol has ever come anywhere near it!!!!

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
  • So we had the final dinner with sister-in-law and family last night and they're going home today. It's been lovely having them here but it's definitely time for them to go home now. Another meal out last night and I'm glad I have the 3-day colonoscopy diet to get over it!!!!!!

Popped in to see my friend from London who just arrived - his 8 stone loss is amazing. He still has quite a long way to go but what he's achieved so far is unbelievable and I'm so happy for him. Didn't get a chance to have a real chat with him as all his family and extended family were there but they're coming to stay with us over the weekend so hopefully we'll have plenty of opportunity to compare notes.

Between meetings today I need to finish off my meal plan for the weekend as I have lots of guests.

    Morning,

It was announced in class last night that we're having our Woman of the Year next week too - have an idea of who to vote for but we'll see! We're having a taster evening and our leader has asked us to bring in a before photo :o:o:o Will have to think what food (and photo!) to take...

Anyway, was made up last night as I lost 3lb to get my 3 stone award with a total of 3st 1lb :D Really pleased, and any loss next week will take me into the next stone down so doubly happy!

    Green day today:
    B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Cheese mugshot (3), peach
T: Soya spag bol, cheese (A)
    S: Nectarine, Shape yogurt, 2 x alpen light (B), Fudge (6), Mini Milk (1.5)

Have a good day everyone :)

  • Morning all - well my sis and I joined our group last night - I weighed in at 14:3 :( - my sis is a good bit heavier...but we're glad to be getting started.

The group leader (is that what you call them) - is really nice - very charismatic character and seems to really know her stuff (I did say that I did join two years ago but didn't stick with it the leader didn't know the answer to people's questions and apparently her only weight loss was from post pregnancy - this new leader has lost 6.5 stone on SW so can speak from experience)

She was very positive to everyone and very encouraging...gave good ideas for food plans and was sympathetic to those who hadn't done as well as they hoped. Here's hoping :)
