Yes the rice pudding is syn freeI usually eat some of it hot then put the rest in a dish and it sets into a lovely stodgy consistency like a proper homemade rice pudding ... yummy!

 Hi Everyone and thanks for all the concern.
To be honest I feel like a real fraud being here as I'm not on plan
I can't remember when I last posted but I'll just fill you in on the last week as that's really the pertinent part.
I weighed in on August 1st (for those of you who don't know me I was so down about weekly weigh ins that I decided to not weigh for a whole month to see what happened). Well I'm exactly one whole pound down from last month :mad::mad::mad:
I felt more than  as I'd been posting my menus, drinking loads of water but admittedly not doing very much exercise but I really did expect to lose more than that.
I'm so fed up with it that I just went off the rails and thought s_d it! I've also got a couple of weeks with weddings and DH's family visiting from France.
Last Tuesday was the first of the weddings and on Tuesday afternoon I went for a pedicure. I have to do medical pedicures because I'm diabetic. I couldn't get my usual lady so had to book somewhere else. Anyway long story short, she completely butchered me and I came away with huge burn holes in my feet!! I've barely been able to walk since and had to get on a plane and travel to Scotland for my Mum's 70th during that time. The travel was horrendous as I was in so much pain and my feet were like balloons. I had them bandaged up and 2 pairs of socks and soft sandals on just so that I could move around - my daughter said that if she'd seen me leave the house like that she'd have disowned me :rotfl:
It was a great weekend apart from the fact that everything had to take place in my sister's house because I couldn't move or get about. It was far too short and having to spend hours and hours in Luton airport travelling in both directions made it all the more frustrating!
Actually I didn't resort to any bad eating in the airport. I took food with me and when I needed more I bought bottles of water and fruit from Pret a Manger. I did have more than I should have had while at my sister's and I've been totally out of control since coming back on Monday night. It doesn't help that we have to go out for dinner every evening with my sister-in-law and her family as they don't want to eat in as they're on holiday. I've managed to talk them into eating at our house over the weekend so at least I will be able to control it a bit then.
They will be here until the 13th and then we have very good friends visiting from London. He's been on SW since last September and has lost over 8 stone so I'll definitely be on plan the weekend they are staying with us but it's all the times at the moment that I just don't seem to be able to take the control back.
Anyway sorry for the long post and glad to see that everyone else is having a good summer and managing to still to plan. :TMediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Med Mum, so glad you're alive! The feet situation sounds so GRIM. I really hope you're going to take some action about it, how can she get away with that? And burn holes? What part of a pedicure has burning it it??!
Anyway, well done for coming back and posting. How do you feel now? Do you feel you can get back on plan or are you still fed up with it all? Do you know if you've gained? You know, if it was anyone else posting you would remind them that it was still a loss on 1 AUgust.... even if only 1lb... sometimes our bodies are so annoying and don't reflect the effort we put in but then it suddenly shows later down the line...
Big hugs anyway.0 -
Thanks Sarah. They did something called "peeling" which to be honest I've never had before and never heard of. It was some kind of cotton wool soaked solution that they put all round my feet and I could feel it burning and told her but she said "oh we'll only leave it on for a few minutes"!!
When I went back in to complain all I got was "this has never happened to any of our clients - of course we'll give you a free pedicure to compensate" - as if I'd !!!!!!!g well go back there again!!!
Yes I hear you about the 1lb loss but really I don't believe that anyone would accept that over the period of a month - would you???
I really want to get back on plan. I've been reading through some of my SW cookbooks and I've got the new magazine which I'm going to read over the weekend and hopefully next week I can get myself back together and see whether I can lose another whole pound in August!Mediterranean Mum

:jgreat to have you back medmum. I'm so sorry to hear your tale of woe but I'm sure your mum was delighted to see you, sore feet or otherwise. I can understand you being frustrated with only losing 1lb. Your menus always look so amazing and full of SFs. I suppose it's a positive that you did lose and you have been eating very healthily. I think if I were you I'd do your best for the next few days and then focus on making plans for your SW friend arriving. Is he someone you could discuss menus with? Perhaps he'll notice something in your meal plans that need tweaking?
WI for me this morning and I put on 2lbs. That puts me right at my target so nothing to worry about. I'm not surprised as I've had lots of flexi meals lately and I did succumb to midweek wine last night:o My target one year 'anniversary' is 18th August and apparently I then become a diamond member.:D
My EE plan for today:
B: HEB Puffed Wheat, banana, HEA milk
L: salmon fillet, stir fried veglamb chops, new potatoes, roasted mediterranean veg
Syns: NONE!!0 -
Medmum,
Just read your post, how awful! I would definately make a complaint and make sure they understand you mean business. They should have public liability insurance to take care of situations like these. Take some photos of your feet to back up your claim. Good luck.
I haven't been on the site for quite a while but hopefully back into the swing of things again.
I have managed to stay under target since May, and was told 2 weeks ago that since I was 4 pound under target that I must either put it back on or start paying once again and change my target. So what did I do? put on and I am now 1.5 over target. So I changed my target and it now means I have 9.5 pounds to lose to get there.
I don't know how others feel , but I feel that there is no support for target members. I was given a book a few weeks ago but that was only because I mithered him to give me one. Support is freely given to members losing but once you get there your on your own.
Never once has my leader sat down with me and said, you do this, that or the other. So I have tried my best to cut back loads and loads just so I can stay under target, until this week that is.
Any advice from anyone would be very much welcomed.
Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!
46 weeks! :beer:0 -
well I lost 2 1/2 lb this week...was a little dissapointed as my scales showed a 4lb loss ...but even so 9 1/2lb over 3 weeks isnt bad is it? My daughter lost 1/2lb and was over the moon as it was her birthday last Fri and she went out for 2 meals, then went on a hen weekend and had loads to drink ! She did try and stay on sensible food so that must of helped--she expected to put on at least 2lb! Im still on 9mg steroids a day so Im doing better than I had hoped really--shouldnt weigh at home is the answer ! Im going out for a meal tonight but will try and have a healthy option......I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0

Good to see you back MedMum [just need Dizzy back now] sorry to hear about your feet, there must be some comeback for that.
I've just come back from the coast and we took the dog for the 1st time. He was amazing, wasn't bothered by all the sights and sounds [pleasure beach etc] and was very well behaved with other dogs about as well as horses along the prom. Was a bit embarrassed when he decided to poop right in the middle of the path but apart from that was very pleased with his behaviour.
I can polish my halo as I wasn't tempted at all by chips and doughnut smells. :A so came home and had 4 bread sticks with reduced fat hummus [HEb] so feeling good. Hope scales appreciate it tomorrow.
Well done all the losers and hugs to those in need. Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
