Morning Everyone, Have just found this thread and think it is great and hopefully all of you can help me out. I have been doing SW for about 8 weeks now and lost 8lb on total but as I have a lot to lose would think I should of lost more then this. Is it essential to eat all your syn allowance everyday as up to this point some days I don't have any and others I have about 10 xxNow on the 5:2 diet.

Im still in the 'getting my head round it' stage but have had bigger weekly loses when i have meal planned and used closer to the 15 syns a day than i did in the first week or so being scared to go over 5 and from what many in our group have said then its better to stay in the close to max group in the earlier stages so that you can lessen them off later if/when weight loss slows down a little. I had great difficulty in the first few weeks managing 3 meals a day plus treats when i have really only eaten evening meals for years with the odd choc bar and crisps later in the night.
Todays meal plan is looking like this -
b, moroccan eggs on toast and a bowl of melon (heb)
l, tabbouleh salad
d, chicken tagine followed by strawbs and squirty cream 1.5syns for 12.5g of light one.
milk in coffees for hea, dairy milk little one.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

That's a very exotic looking menu stef. Enjoy!!
:wave:forestroxydog. I'd agree with everything stef said about using up your syns. You are right, it is usual to lose larger amounts at first but it doesn't always happen. If you want any help just post what you're eating on here. Feedback is usually more instant than giving a food diary to your consultant. I don't find it helpful that you can have a bad week, give in your food diary and then get feedback a week later which is what happens mostly at my group.
zippy, I don't think any of us would claim to be an expert on Success Express as it's only used occasionally but I'll willingly have a go at your meal plans. I think the key is the two thirds SF but also that any snacking you do on free food means you have to up the SF to balance it in the same proportions.
I'm having my usual on plan EE Sunday:
B: HEB (0.5) toast, baked beans, HEA milk for teas, grapes
L: HEB (0.5) toast, sardines, tomatoes, cornichons, pickled onionsroast beef, SW roasties, cabbage, carrots, green beans, cauli
Syns: wine:D, gravy and may have a small yorkshire. I tend to eat free/very low syn during the week so can relax a bit weekends.0 -
Had a great surprise today. Tried on a pair of cropped summer trousers which I have always loved but haven't been able to wear last summer at all. In March I went on holiday to Tenerife and tried them on and there was no way I could even do the side zip up. There was a gap of several inches. I was so disappointed because they are lime green and I love them.
Believe it or not, having lost only 1 stone and 1 1b, I actually got into them without opening the zip!! :j:j
So if anybody out there is thinking they have "only lost a stone" maybe this will cheer them up. Imagine having a stone of potatoes tucked in your trousers.:rotfl::rotfl:0 -
WI later
I've felt rough for the last couple of days so not sure if i've eaten enough SF.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Good luck for WI CH27.
Todays meal plan:
b, breakfast casserole - taken from SW website, melon
l, hot dogs (HEB) with onions and salad, kiwi
d, Quorn bolognese with salad, apple and mullerlight
HEA milk for coffee. syns undecided as of yet.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Morning all,
Zippy - sorry, don't really know anything about SE but from what I can gather from what's been said on here your menu looks ok.
CH - hope you feel better and good luck for WI!
Stef - I normally have 12-15 syns a day too and have had good losses so far
Pennylane - well done, must be a great feeling!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. Had fun at wine tasting, although actually struggled to drink them all ( about half a glass each of 8 different types) - think it's just too acidic for my poor tummy. Went out afterwards with OH and a couple of friends but stuck to water as the wine had gone to my head - I know my limits!Had kept syns to around 5 a day up until saturday for the wine then had 10 yesterday; stuck to everything else so hoping for a loss, and desperately praying that there isn't an overhang from last week's naughtiness! Had a sneaky peek this morning and it says I've lost but learnt not to take much notice. Managed to get OH to get weighed too and he's lost a couple more pounds, which is about half a stone over a few months - doesn't sound much but considering he's still having beer and chocolate, and he fitted into a smaller suit for the wedding the other week, he's quite pleased
Keep reading about the 30 day shred- still haven't got round to trying it. Is there running/jumping in it? Am just thinking of the impact on my knees as my slightly dodgy knee that I hurt from running in Jan is playing up a bit. Am intending to start weights and sit ups again but all weekend and most evenings are spend DIYing atm - at least one tricep is sore from painting the bathroom yesterday so may have one half toned arm! :rotfl:
EE today:
B: Oats (B), chopped nectarine, ff Greek yog, milk (A)
L: L/O chicken, ham, salad, peach
T: Will see how I feel and how WI goes!!
S: Ditto!
Have a great day all!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Good luck with this week's WIs everyone. I've missed a week so hoping I'm stll well within target range. I don't weigh a home but clothes still feel OK.
I'm having a few syns today like lightly breaded fish as I want to eat from freezer and it seemed extravagant to buy fresh when I had some in already.
Today's EE menu:
B: HEB porage, HEA milk, grapes, banana
L: if hungry I'll have some LO veg fried up with some picklefish, chips, cauliflower cheese
Syns: cheese sauce, fish (5?)
I had a look at your menu zippy and it looks OK to me. You shouldn't feel you're depriving yourself though. You can have as much potato or pasta as you want as long as you also pile on the SFs to get the proportions right. A friend of mine tried following a sample SE menu and found it was far too much to eat. I haven't checked your syns but I' sure you know that where there's more than one value you have to count the highest one.0 -
Maman are you removing the breading on the fish prior to eating it? Some of the breaded fish fillets are as high as 10.5 syns each i can check online for you if you want to let me know which one you have. I made the mistake of thinking the Birds Eye fusion ones were better than breaded/battered ones till i got home and checked and they are 7.5syns each piece.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
