Does anyone here do SW from home? I am debating whether to join a group but I did that last year, and to be honest I didn't gain a great deal from the meetings, but I am guessing each group will have a different atomosphere etc...8k in 2015 Challenge ( #167)0

Hi All
Hugs to Natterjack and TIE :grouphug: (queue dodgy smiley)
I am looking a little help. This week i lost 1lb despite getting a tooth out. Yay. I'm now 11-3 so 3 away from target.
From taking al the meds and not being so well my appetite has some what diminished. I am finding i have a real hunger/thirst for fruit but no huge appetite for free food so i am trying to use it to my advantage as a Success express day. It's not typically by the book but i am open to any advice. I don't want to shoot myself in the foot as i don't lose by green days so worry about the extra HEB
Yesterdays menu
B - 2 yogs, 2 peaches, strawbs, half a grapefruit some grapes.
Mid afternoon - banana, clementine, appled, passionfruit in a yog.
Dinner - very small portion of pasta with spanish smoked quorn chicken dish - hm - tinned tomatoes and mostly veg. Followed by another clementine , a tub of melon and an orange
Snack - cup of tea and HEB cereal bar
Then around 1am i had two rounds nimble HEB as toasted cheese HEA
Syns - one of the yogs 1/2, squirty cream on the strawbs 3/4
Today
Brunch Very small bowl pasta with brocoli and caul mixed in with a sprinkling of cheese. Followed by half grapefruit, 2 apples, banana and a yog
Dinner - Small amt mashed potato, quorn sausage, broc, carrots and caul (veg a third of plate ). Gravy. Followed by strawberries, melon and an orange .
Snack - cup tea and a hi fi bar HEB
SHortly will have HEB toast with the rest of my HEA cheese (all measured very anally:o) and probably half a grapefruit. I understand from reading the leaflet , the third superfree doesnt apply to HEbs,
Syns - gravy 1/2 , sausage 1.5, butter in mash 1m yog 1/2,
Now - having tea and a caramel bar 9.5 and a packet of meanies 4 .
WIll have toast HEB with a sliver of cheese (reast of HEA) in a bit. My times are all up the left at the minute
I count my syns weekly - my limit is 66 so will have hit that by monday evening. Weigh day is tuesday
Any help or advice? I always measure my milk and cheese and never go over and i check all my syns. I'm somewhat a syn nazi:o Am i kiding myself this is success express? its such a shock, the dinner i had tonight, i would normally eat twice as much as i normally do at the minute, so im trying not to let my weight loss suffer and gain because im not eating enough. My body does strange things.
MED MUM COOOOEEEEEEEEEE???????:beer::D
Piglet - are you trying intentionally to lose more or is it happening accidentally? Have you upped your HEs and syns? You've done so well. I hope you find a weight you are hppy at:A
Hi to all, some fantastic losses here, keep it up!!!:jA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Thanks Sarah and Maman, have been told the butcher does SW sausages in 4 flavours at £1.99/6 and they are 2 syn for the 6.
There are 4 of us on SW at the mo, but I want to prove to a couple of others that you can still enjoy great food on SW, my bro in law who's approx 16st esp thinks it sounds like hardship. I know I've struggled over the past 5 weeks but since March I have definitely eaten better in general and tried a few things that I wouldn't normally.SW start date 20/02/12 - lost so far 2st 2.5lb0 -
Morning all. It was DS's birthday yesterday and after a raft of visitors all day I found myself sitiing at 9pm realising that I had had no dinner but had in the previous 6 hours had the best part of a bottle of wine, 2 pieces for traybake and 5 chicken dippers
All in I reckon it was about 50 syns and seeing as I hadn't had any syns since Sunday night it should be OK.
Grrr though, why do I do this to myself! We have the family coming round for tea on Sunday but I am in charge of the cooking so the menu is SW sweet & sour chicken (free), chilli (free), gammon (free) and lasagne (2 syns per slice when using the cheese as my HEA) so I should be ok on Sunday as my plan is that if I eat plently of the main course I wont be tempted by the non-SW sweets that my Mam is bringing! with the stress of cleaning the house and cooking for 20 on Sunday I reckon I should be OK so long as I can keep out of the wine bottle!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

That's really good, both price and synwise. The Tesco Light Choices are nice and same price but about 1 syn each I think. I get Joe's sausages which are syn free (from what I can gather mainly found in the NW so possibly available in your area) and they do burgers as well although not tried them. Bit more expensive but can get 4 packs for £10. Your local butchers sounds good though, do they do SW burgers too?stef240377 wrote: »I did ask the last time i were on here about the 1/3 of a plate situation with superfrees and whether or not these had to be seperate to the ones used in making a meal and the consensus is that you do have the extra ones. But this has now left me even more confused after reading the better body menu in the Bella magazine i pinched off my sister. We came back of holiday on sunday evening so monday straight back on the SW wagon following this menu as it suggests a 4lb loss in a week. Stuck to it rigidly day by day but today theres no mention of serving extra veggies with the moussaka just to have a mullerlight and an apple for dessert. And infact most the meals are served just as a meal with fruit being offered in some shape for dessert unless it specifies a side salad with something like the fish and chips. I have been doing it this way since joining but then it was mentioned on here that i should also be having the 1/3rd of extra veggies so now not sure whether i have been under/over eating (even though i know they are 'free foods'). I hope that makes sense?!Good to have you back stef.
This seems to be a new thing with SW. They've always said that there are syns in stewed fruit but cooked veg was OK until recently. Tonight I'm having bolognese sauce and in with the meat I've put onions, mushrooms, peppers, courgette, carrots and celery plus the tin of toms and passata for the sauce base. I leave the pieces fairly chunky, certainly not disguised. I've always done it this way (same with curry and chilli) and managed to get to target. I probably would have a salad alongside a lasagne but that's because I enjoy it that way. I certainly don't need a salad with my spaghetti bolognese.
I know tweaking is frowned on but what I'd do is carry on making your sauces as you used to but know that if you stalled in your weightloss you'd have some options to 'fine tune'.
Maman - have they said cooked veg does't count as SF? I didn't know that. My consultant has never explicitly said one way or the other but I suppose that's because no-one has stopped losing because of it. I do tweak the odd thing a little but would never have thought that this was classed as tweaking!
Stef -personally I don't think it will matter whether you have it separately or within a meal as long as your portion size takes this into account when having it separately. In that respect I would have said that having it within the meals would be better as you're not having a full plate of whatever plus a plate of salad, although suppose depends on if it's on the same plate. I think it's just a matter of common sense in this and other things, like portion size generally etc. As Maman says, if it is still working for you the way you do it, great, if not then maybe try the other way
Undecided between green and EE today. Neutral so far but going to this wine thing tonight (not sure if I'm too inclined to go now but we walked into work especially!) and not sure if eating at pub beforehand or grabbing something when we get in. Will check the pub menu and make an assessment. So:
B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
L: L/O Quorn stir fry and egg fried rice, nectarine
T: TBC
S: Shape 0%, strawberries, syns dependent on tea

Blodwen, I haven't seen it written anywhere but our consultant came back from one of her training sessions with the message that a meal with veg cooked into a dish like bolognese needed extra SFs. It hasn't been mentioned since and maybe you're right it's because no one stopped losing. I suppose some people do make bolognese with loads of meat and just an onion and a tin of toms. I do mine the OS way and pad it out with SFs!;)
We don't have Joe's sausages here but we used to have a butcher that did the local markets (and our SW class) that did something similar. They used to have a big SW banner over the stall but then SW withdrew the accreditation. We were told that it was a commercial decision (presumably he wasn't paying SW enough for the privilege) and not because the recipe changed but he seems to have disappeared. They did a lovely smoked sausage made with chicken. I used to cook them and snack on them cold from the fridge. Yummy!
Today's going to be another mixed up day and so is tomorrow. I'm out for a meal tonight, a 40th birthday 'hen' do. I'm going flexi and having a smoked salmon starter and steak main but I know there'll be chips and sauces and dressings and wine! Tomorrow a chinese is planned in the evening. I'm going to do my best with my other meals and then get back to being sensible on Sunday. As I'm at target I can afford these meals off but I find that keeping in touch with this thread and my group keeps SW as my 'normal' way of eating IYSWIM. I do hope no one minds.
Today's EE plan:
B: HEB toast, beans, bacon, egg, mushrooms, HEA milk for teas
L: salmon & stir-fry vegmeal out??

Hey guys! Room for a newbie?
I'm back on the bandwagon, doing SW at home as I'm trying to be MSEr....
It's just me and my OH at home so he'll be doing it with me most of the time weather he likes it or not! :L
I did have great losses on SW before when I did it but have gotten into some awful eating habits since OH returned from university!
To start today :
B : Muller light, tea (HeA Milk) and banana
L : HeB Toast, beans, mushroons, tomatoes, eggs
T : Spag bol made from scratch!
Syns : Unsure but I think 2 kimberly biccies later on with some tea?
Thought I had quorn sausages in the deep freezer but I don't, boo!094 Sealed pot member! (7) €185 (8) €138 (9) €€250

HI Tata
just an update - quorn have changed their recipe so their sausages are no longer free.
Syns online says
Basic, Sausages, vegetarian, Quorn, all varieties, each - 1 syn on all plans
Quorn, Chef's Selection Sausages with Garlic & Parsley (devine!), 4 pack, chilled, 60g each
1½1½1½ (1.5 on all plans)
hope that helps
Maman - regards the whole sausage debate, my local butcher told me SW stopped issuing official certificates. One butcher changed the recipe while claiming to be SW accredited. One woman ended up taking them to court as she was gaining weight from eating their sausages. So it very much depends on how much you trust your butcher i guess. I don't have the option locally so don't have that quandry. i did buy SW stuff from him when he sold it, it just wasn't openly advertised.A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Im gutted after staying the same this week.....only thing I did different was to have pasta on 2 days-mixed with tuna, sweetcorn and 1 tablespoon lowest mayo. Had a pint of larger on Tuesday (9 syns) but didnt have any white wine for 3 nights :-(( Loads of fruit, melon, strawberries, grapes etc.I make a pint of blamangue ? with no sugar jelly and low fat yogurt again add loads of fruit to it, I have a snack-shotz every day..so cant think why I didnt lose. I had gained a LB by the WII Fit so was happy that it didnt show on the scales. Just dont know what went wrong. My daughter lost 2 1/2lb and was chuffed to bits as she didnt feel like she had lost any! She is 1/2 lb ahead of me now so got to get it moving again!I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0
