Vegetable kebabs! Peppers, aubergine, courgette (and a prawn or two , or bit of chicken). Sure you can find some good SW marinades online. Cheapy! And alsoCorn on the cob. Nom nom. Jacket pots in the embers. You could always do a few normal burgers and keep the SW ones aside for you - subtly different shape? Surely not everyone is on SW?0

Sainsbury's Be Good to Yourself Extra Lean Pork Cumberland Sausages, 8 pack, chilled, are only half a syn each! I'd go for those and chicken (skin removed). Vegetable kebabs are delicious but make sure they have SW marinades or just spray with frylight. Put all the dressings for people to help themselves so that you can have as much salad and potatoes as you want alongside your meat. I'm really lazy with puddings at this time of the year and just pile bowls high with lovely SS strawberries and raspberries. You could have Total 0% yogurt with yours so you can pass on the cream. There was barbecue stuff in the magazine recently. If I see anything I'll let you know.0 -
Sorry for not being on for over a week as i have been away on holiday. Tried as best as we could not to stray too far whilst away and i think i have maintained if my scales are anything to go by at home.
I did ask the last time i were on here about the 1/3 of a plate situation with superfrees and whether or not these had to be seperate to the ones used in making a meal and the consensus is that you do have the extra ones. But this has now left me even more confused after reading the better body menu in the Bella magazine i pinched off my sister. We came back of holiday on sunday evening so monday straight back on the SW wagon following this menu as it suggests a 4lb loss in a week. Stuck to it rigidly day by day but today theres no mention of serving extra veggies with the moussaka just to have a mullerlight and an apple for dessert. And infact most the meals are served just as a meal with fruit being offered in some shape for dessert unless it specifies a side salad with something like the fish and chips. I have been doing it this way since joining but then it was mentioned on here that i should also be having the 1/3rd of extra veggies so now not sure whether i have been under/over eating (even though i know they are 'free foods'). I hope that makes sense?!:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Good to have you back stef.
This seems to be a new thing with SW. They've always said that there are syns in stewed fruit but cooked veg was OK until recently. Tonight I'm having bolognese sauce and in with the meat I've put onions, mushrooms, peppers, courgette, carrots and celery plus the tin of toms and passata for the sauce base. I leave the pieces fairly chunky, certainly not disguised. I've always done it this way (same with curry and chilli) and managed to get to target. I probably would have a salad alongside a lasagne but that's because I enjoy it that way. I certainly don't need a salad with my spaghetti bolognese.
I know tweaking is frowned on but what I'd do is carry on making your sauces as you used to but know that if you stalled in your weightloss you'd have some options to 'fine tune'.0 -
Thanks Maman.
Im still at the beginning of my journey, using my scales at home and starting SW at home prior to joining a club in total since 10th June 2012 have lost 13lbs but now nothing seems to be shifting hence following the plan placed in the mag that SW have produced but then it leaves you thinking its all a contradiction to what you are told in the groups and leading to all the confusion. I will be taking the mag along to group tonight when i WI and questioning the 1/3rd again so i know which is the right way. I am finding it easier by following a meal plan like the magazines one because you dont need to sit back and think what treats to have to make up your syns as your not sure what went in the meals plus all your HEA's ans HEB's are factored in - lazy i know but its easier too for my hubby to take over with the cooking/shopping as its all written down for him:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j
