just had what i thought was a good SW dinner - chicken stir fry... however i have just checked the stir in sauce that I used on syns online.. 6 syns for the pouch!! Yikes!
Anyone any ideas for syn free - or low free sauces to use for stirfrys??0 -
Starfish, I usually make my own - garlic, ginger, some chinese 5 spice, chicken stock and soy sauce... having looked at the online syns calculator, it looks like 6 syns is pretty low for a pouch of ready made stuff, most of them are higher so the damage could have been worse!
Did you use the whole pouch?Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Does anyone use My fitness pal? I signed up for it a few weeks back but haven't really bothered with it until my friend nudged me about it over the weekend. It boggles my mind though trying to count in calories when all I'm used to is syns and free food! so I think I may stick with the sw food diary. I just wish you could plan ahead with it....
I have had another rubbish week - only myself to blame of course. I don't understand why I self sabotage so much. Even my pjs feel tight this eveningWe have had a tidy up of the kitchen this weekend though and things are a bit more organised and I've bagged up all the biscuit bars I bought on a whim and will give them away so I can't be tempted.
I've also put my scales in the loft so no more weighing in mid week.0 -

I do much the same. When I can I marinate the meat in the soy, stock (which depends on the meat), ginger (frozen), garlic (lazy), 5 spice and a few chopped chillis. I've tried the frylight stir fry oil. Personally not keen as it's ready flavoured and I'm not sure it's my favourite flavour but I'll use it up as I've got it. I love having stir fy as a meal as it makes me feel really virtuous having masses of SFs and a syn free meal.:D
Good EE day for me today:

I use the diet coke sauce or the fanta sauce but swap worcester sauce for soy sauce and add 2 tablespoons of oyster sauce for 1 syn a spoon its gorgeous and can make as much as you want or double up and freeze xLOST 7ST 1/2LB July-groc chal £209/£300

Thanks everyone for your replies.. I will definitely go tomorrow and stock up on those ingredients for a homemade version.
Yeah I used the whole pouch in the stir-fry- it was 120g - it was a sainsburys chow mein sauce - the specific one was not listed on the SW site - so I entered the data manually.
I still have some of the meal left - I was planning on having the Leftovers for my lunch tomorrow... so probably only had 4 syns worth today... so as you say - it could have been worse!!
I managed to go out walking this evening too - dispite the weather being awful!! I felt great after it!0 -
Right so I have to stay awake all tonight (sleep deprived EEG in morning) and with weigh in tomorrow night I'm starting to panic about how I'll cope lol. When do tomorrows syns kick in? lol xSW Journey Started 09/07/12wk1 -6lb wk2 -6lb wk3 -3lbTotal Lost 15lbs :j0
