They say the key to Extra Easy is a third of every meal superfree & your snacks should be a third superfree too.Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0

Diane~sorry that you have had a tough time recently.
The third of what you eat being SF really helps I think and if you can add in some superspeed foods all to the good.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters. NO, but I did the chicken, potato and red pepper casserole and the sardines with potato bake (used mackerel) and they were both really really good. My DH was impressed.
Ooh, I might try mackerel ... I liked the sound of that recipe but couldn't be faffed to go and buy fresh sardines. I suppose I could have used tinned?0 -
I made curried pork balls tonight with rice and a mango salsa - all SW. They were very good indeed. I have tried Spicy Thai bites before but not these.
They were dead easy to make too. The recipe said 2 tablespoons of curry powder but I think that must be a mis-print. I did about a dessertspoonful and that was ample.0 -

Diane, sounds like you have had a rough time. Do you follow Extra easy or red or green?
On Extra easy it's essential to use the third super free option. I find your menu a little hard to read so perhaps if you post up every day then people here can advise you better
You seem a bit vague about your syns. I am a syn nazi, everything is measured weighed and written down absolutely 100%..
Do you keep a food diary? Have you re read your books to ensure you are following 100%? it's very easy to forget or change things in your brain. I was eating uncle bens pouch plain rice for days not realisiing it had syns so it really does take you to check everything if you are unsure.
Im sure you will get there. Do you eat many speed and superspeed fruits?

No, Diane, I think you're in the right place for advice and help. So sorry to hear about your sad losses.
My take is that as you've so little left to lose you may need more drastic action. All the advice you've got is good like measuring and being sure you get a third SF and as much SS as you can. Try these but if it does't work think about trying Success Express. There are other features but the main point is two thirds SF rather than one. Going from memory, it also allows extra HEXs and you have to syn things at the highest value. I think it may be about the fact you are so close to target and maybe your system needs a bit of a shake up.
That's my theory but as you belong to a group it's worth talking to your consultant as well. That's what you're paying for!!;)0 -

Zip
As an example of a meal we would have spaghetti Bol quorn so only syns would be 1/4 jar of sauce 2 with added chopped tomatoes(is that super free) and onions or peppers with cheese as h.e.
Then we might have a freddo or fries crips 4 syns.
Rice is always dried as well as pasta.
We have the SW app so check everything-daughter does it for me.
I think I may post up daily food for help0 -
Hi,
I have been reading this thread with interest over the past few weeks as i started SW with my 15 yo son. I joined purely because he needed to have an adult attend with him and we dont know anyone else that goes.
Having said that we started slowly moving on to the plan using the menu ideas on their website so it wasnt so much of a shock to the system for DS. During the 2 weeks prior to first weigh in we both lost approx 3/4 stone. Since then have been averaging about 1.5lb loses a week but this week both gained a small amount, DS 1.5lb and myself 1lb. We have stuck to plan rigidly and advised in group 'we only do EE here' so have been meal planning along with this. But im not convinced we are doing it right so any help would be gratefully received.
I was also a little perplexed by the consultant this week when she asked how i had been getting on, told her i had had a couple of days where nothing i ate seemed to take off the hunger pang. On these days a rough meal plan would be breakfast consisting of baked beans, eggs and mushrooms with a banana afterwards, lunch would be a Jacket spud with mushy peas and a piece of fish - syned as it was a birds eye fusion so 7.5 syns with melon and strawbs afterwards and tea would have been a bean cassoulet with super noodles. HEA was milk, HEB was 2x weight watchers bread used as a snack with ham and a tiny scrapping of low low spread instead of butter as didnt use all milk allowance. I always fill in food diary but she takes it off us and never comments, inbetween meals would pick at fruit but like i say on the above day i still felt hungry. This is where the consultant said we should ditch the extra superfrees and fill up on things like the mug shots and savoury rice. But that to me seems like it is going off the plan slightly especially as the book saying peckish eat more fruit and veg - sorry for waffling on. We have been to 4 classes so far.:j Was married 2nd october 2009 to the most wonderful man possible:j

Lost 3st 5lb with Slimming world so far!!0 -
Hi stef and welcome to the thread. As a quick observation, you seem to have a pretty poor consultant which is a shame. You could try going to a different class as a visitor and moving if you prefer it. SW does seem to push EE but that doesn't mean you can't do green or red if it suits you better. I agree her advice seems a bit suspect.
If you are doing EE then you must have your superfrees. You can fill up on the things she suggests which are free but you must keep up the one third principle across the day. So if you have extra free food then you must have extra SFs as well.
Your breakfast seems fine, lunch ok too as the fruit balances off the fact that there's no SF in the main meal. Your tea sounds a potential problem area. Without knowing your recipe then it could be largely beans and meat with only perhaps a bit of onion or tomato. This wouldn't be enough SF to qualify as a third. Having more fruit would help but I have heard of people eating too many bananas or grapes and not losing so make sure you have plenty of melon & strawberries and other fruits. It shouldn't make a difference but having some veg as SFs rather than just fruit might help (less sugar content?).
It's quite common to settle to a 1 to 1.5lbs weekly weightloss after initial big losses. You've both done really well so far so do try not to be disheartened.
i'd suggest you post you daily plan on here for advice as a way forward until you get used to the plan. Good Luck!0
