WELCOME !!!! :beer::beer::beer:
I've had a look at the menu. Here are my views:
Starters
Avoid if you can. Best options probably the tomato soup (ask for no bread - if they don't bring it - you can't be tempted just to have a little bit)
Or possibly the Reggae Reggae chicken wings sharer (don't bother with the extra sauce)
Or the buffalo chicken wings - again leave the sauce.
Mains
I suggest the quorn chilli - leave the nachos and sour cream
Steak
Quorn fillets
Big steak and chicken combo
Jacket potato and beans (ask for no cheese or HEA the cheese plus some syns). Ask for an extra side salad for added superfree.
see if you can have a jacket spud option instead of chips plus order a side salad? (leave the dressing).
Pudding
Plain ice cream and chocolate sauce
Don't think I have ever seen such a huge menu!
I too have looked and would concur with the above poster - but I would avoid the starters at all costs - I'd have a bowl of some synfree homemade soup to eat before i left home. You have no idea what's in soup in a pub - if it's come out of a tin it could well be loaded with syns...
If you can face it have a salad - I think the chicken one sounded nice - ask them to serve it without the dressing, or give you the dressing on the side ( in a sep container) - I have done this quite successfully in slug & lettuce...
If you go for a steak ask for a baked potato instead of chips and order a side salad.....
Puddings - I would avoid like the plague.....
And be careful with your drinks - check the syn values - and check the size of the measures - are they 25ml or 35ml? And if you can alternate between alcohol eg vodka and diet coke and a soft drink....
Good luck - and remember - you have the right to enjoy yourself..... but make sure it doesn't derail your week.... and get straight back on it the following morning...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
ditto for the last two days for me but tomorrow is a new day and I can start afresh.
That could be our mantra FE!;) Good idea for the new thread.
abbybryan, you've had good advice about your meal choices. If I were you, I'd ring in advance or speak to someone as soon as you get there. Tell them you have to eat low fat at the moment for health reasons if it helps. Personally I'd go for steak, JP and salad and pass on the rest. If that would ruin your night then go flexi, read what FE said above and then be super good for the rest of the week. I was intrigued by your link. I used to live very near there years ago and drove past often.
:Tcaroline, if you can lose over a holiday you are doing well.0 -
Im a happy bunny--lost 4lb when I went for WI tonight and my daughter lost 3lb so both happy! Cant believe how much Ive eaten over past week...loads of fruit...would think that would make you gain weight with it being sweet wouldnt you? Making lots of blamange with no sugar jelly and low fat yogurt with strawberries and grapes in--feels really naughty when eating it but 1/2 syn for jelly I think! What are FF yogurts Ive seen mentioned on here? Im getting used to abreviations but still one of two Im not sure of!I might be crazy but I'm not stupid....0

Hi Everyone - Diane, FF is fat free!
Just to add to the planning debate - I went haywire yesterday because I didn't plan. My day was totally !!!!!!ed up with back-to-back meetings which included meetings in cafes and over lunch that I so hadn't expected or planned for and I did all the wrong things. Even the salad that I ordered which came with a dressing served separately, I ended up pouring over the salad because I just wasn't thinking! So easy to get distracted from the plan.
Then to cap it all my son called at 5pm and said that he and DIL were coming over for supper. I had no idea what I was making even for myself let along 2 extras and ended up making a pasta, broccoli and salmon bake (what's wrong with that I hear you ask) but I didn't have the ingredients to make a SW sauce so ended up making "real" cheese sauce with extra cheese on top (unmeasured of course!!!!!).
Boy did I pay for it though - felt really sick afterwards, had heartburn which I haven't had for weeks and weeks and then DH told me that I was snoring during the night - again something I haven't done for weeks and weeks!!!!!
So back to planning today. I have a busy weekend with lots of guests and I plan to make it work for me. I'll post plan soon...Mediterranean Mum

Oh no sorry to hear this is still not reaching any closure for you Vicki. Don't apologise for moaning, I'm sure we'd all feel revolting in the same situation.
Sorry I don't have any suggestions for you but at the very least keep yourself hydrated - sorry I always go on about drinking water!!Mediterranean Mum

Morning,
Diane - well done, great result for both of you!
MedMum- It's funny how we eat some things even though we know how we'll feel laterYou're back on it today though so well done for that.
Vicky - Sorry to hear there hasn't been any progress on the diagnosis. All I would say is keep on at them, something needs to be done *hugs*
This will probably be my last day on here for a while as off for a week for SILs wedding and mini hols to MILs. We'll be doing most of our own cooking so planning to stay on track. Will be a few minor blips like wedding food, although buffet and will be lots of healthy stuff, and meal night before but is Pizza Express so will have a Leggera - basically there is no excuse for coming back without a loss!
I know there's a new thread for menu plans but since my parents are coming today to cat-sit for the week I haven't really got beyond today planned, so will just post today's menu here and join the new thread upon my return!
Green again today:
B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
L: L/O pasta & pesto w/ roast veg (last night's tea instead of stir fry - pesto and cheese counted yesterday)
T: Courgette pasta bake - cheese as A & B (I'll be turning into a piece of pasta soon :rotfl:)
S: Out of date Greek muller if it's still edible (0.5), HiFi light (3), rocky (5.5)
See you all in a week or so2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]
2012: [STRIKE]Start renovating new house (aka open enormous can of worms)[/STRIKE] _pale_
