Many congratulations! I'll be interested to hear how yo get on but I'm sure they'll tell you it's healthy eating not a diet and that you can have more HEXs. Sorry to be pessimistic about the money but let's wait and see.

:Tpiglet, that's great. I'm still trying to get rid of a couple of pounds I gained on holiday (although I'm still spot on target). WI tomorrow and I'm hoping for the best.

good luck, keep us posted on WI,

my 3lbs loss took me from 1lb over target, to 2lbs under target, so i hope to maintain nearer this, than the upper end.

target was 11.12, so range is 11.9 to 12.1, currently 11.10, so hope to maintain around this, its hard to know how much to eat tho...:o i thought i had eaten plenty last week, 2 HE Breads every day last week, and 15 / 20 syns a day, with a flexi day on sat.

Thanks piglet. I have the target book that was given out a few weeks back but I've still not managed to read it:o. I like to keep close to the bottom of the target range then I feel I've got a buffer if I want to treat myself. It has caused me a few problems as once I slipped 5.5 lbs below range (so 8.5lbs below target). I'm still convinced the scales were wrong;) but I had to pay to get back:eek: I don't know about you but although I probably could drop down 7lbs but I'd hate to look scrawny so I'm trying to maintain.
  • Just done first body magic of any kind in about 6 weeks - walked on the dreadmill for 25 mins - not too bad for a start.

I need to change up my eating a bit because again today I had too much to eat during the day, didn't feel like supper and now it's 9.45 and I'm hungry but it's too late to eat!

I made a tuna pasta salad for lunch but had way too much pasta and that's my downfall!

Off to have a shower and an early night and hopefully can sort this out tomorrow - the whole week has been like this.

Trying to remain positive but struggling.:( Discovered to my horror tonight that I have gained a pound. That's my first weight on since I started, although I have had one "maintain" a few weeks ago.

Amongst our group tonight are (as usual) several who say they have eaten this & that, not stuck to plan, had too much alcohol and they KNOW and ACCEPT why they've gained weight. I stick to plan, never go over on my syns and still I gain.

I know I have lost weight in inches but it is so disheartening when the scales go the wrong way.

Stick with it Med Mum !!! Oh and why is it too late to eat? Slimming world has no time scale for eating - i read that in one of the mags. If you are genuinely hungry, eat. That's how it works. No such thing as too late!!!!!:p

Tomorrow you can maybe have less pasta at lunch but don't leave yourself starved tonight. Just learn from it and move on. You're doing so very well - i realise how condescending that reads!!!

I had half off - not so impressed with that. I was good as gold, stayed within my syns etc and ate loads super speed. My best chum drank 100 syns saturday night and lost a pound - rascal. :D:o

    Todays food was

B - 2 egg and toast & coffee (half HEA)
L - Wok fried noodles with beansprouts
D - Quorn spag bol (packed with veg) with cheese (half HEA )

Ive accidentally ate no meat so i may make it a green day as a one off so i can have a nice HEB cereal bar.

Fruit - a grapefruit, a punnet strawbs,2 pears and a banana. Not a great day but im on a terrible amount of painkillers at the moment so stayin on plan is a bonus if im honest.

My TMJ has reached new levels of pain - and im taking 6 different types of painkillers plus sleeping tabs. I suspect there may be some inflamation going on in my body which is slowing my losses right down - this happened with me before when i had inflamation with chest pains . Just a bit disheartening but i will stick at it. 5lbs to go until my original target.....

ANyway, I'm just determined my health is not getting in the way of my journey. Too many times we use things as excuses and really, thats all they are! Just going to stick at it and hope it all rights itself.

Flat Eric - good to see you back. Did you ever try the handbag bacon sandwich? Cook your bacon and keep in fridge. Ding it in the morning 10-15 seconds and sandwich in bread with lf synned mayo or spread. I like it that way as it melts into the bread rather than being cold and a bit greasy :o Have a banana while your bacon is dinging, and your sandwich will b e to hand when you finally get hungry. Have you tried writing a list of reasons you want to follow SW - so if you get tempted to make a cheeky choice, you pull out the letter/list, read it and then see if you feel the same? Dunno , just a thought. If i remember right, you are great at planning but it's the execution is where it can go a little bit wrong for you. I hope that doesn't offend you - do let me know if i've got you wrong. Where do you think your main issue is? I would so love to see you back on track and happily losing.

Hugs and hellos to all those in need. Well done to the losers maintainers and gainers. xxx

OMG just heard the advert for Muller Eton mess, someone mentioned them a few days ago I think, I didn't realise they were a corner, didn't see them in Morrisons but just looked on SW at syn value, 6 1/2 each, unfortunately if I do see them I'll have to leave them there. Thought they sounded yummy too.
SW start date 20/02/12 - lost so far 2st 2.5lb

It is disheartening but not everyone loses weight in a regular pattern. I'm a huge believer in that whatever you do catches up eventually (good and bad) so as you've been following the plan the losses will come!

Is it because you won't be able to sleep if you eat late mm? I've been known to make a jacket potato at 11 p.m. on days when the munchies won't stop. I don't think it matters at all how much you eat as long as it's in proportion. That's assuming you're doing EE (i.e. a third of everything you eat is SF) and on green I don't think too much pasta is possible. Stick with it!!

Thanks Zippy and Maman - I didn't eat and wasn't actually THAT hungry!!! It was more a case of "I haven't eaten supper so I must be hungry!!!!". I had my shower and went to bed and I was fine. Although I've been up since 4.30 this morning and that could be because I didn't eat last night.

I think I've had this inbred belief that whatever you eat after a certain time will stick and will hinder the diet. I've never been someone who sits all evening and eats - that's not my problem time although I know it is for many. Afternoons are the worst for me and that's when I tend to sabotage things and then think OK, I've overeaten this afternoon better not have any supper!

I've always tried to save my HEB (2 slices of WM bread) for the afternoon so that I can have a proper filling snack and something I've noticed this week is that if I buy "real" bread it leaves me wanting more whereas if I buy diet bread I'm satisfied with 2 slices so I'm going back to the diet stuff next week.

So I'm going back to some kind of non-bread/toast breakfast today and will keep my bread for this afternoon to try and sort the afternoon issue.

  • Zippy sorry the TMJ is still causing you so much pain. I have a friend who specializes in treating it but she's here, not in the UK. Chronic pain is a terrible thing and I admire you for keeping to plan through it - it would be so easy to give in to it (speaking from experience!).

    Hello I'm new :)

I'm getting married next year and my wedding dress is too tight

I've followed slimming world before but since then I've never stuck to it but this time I'm determined to. I can't really afford the group at the moment as I'm a childminder and have no little ones on my books till after the summer.

I can't blame the baby weight anymore as baby1 is starting reception and baby2 is 20 months old lol!

I have real issues with food outside the house, at home I cook from scratch all the time but step outside and I'm junk food mad. I can't walk past a take away or food advert. If I was to sit down in a pub I'd probably order the most calorific thing on the menu to "make the most of it" even if it's not actually the thing I fancy the most.

I'm hoping slimming world and lack of money will push me in the right direction and kick my junk habbit.

    So day one today,
B- Beans on toast (HEB) Coffee (HEA) Banana
    D- Homemade butternut squash soup
T- Homemade beef fried rice with spring onion, peas. Mango.

Lots and lots of water, I feel so thirsty this morning after last nights fish and chip binge. (which I couldn't afford)

    Have a nice day everyone
