  • welcome newleafmum and congratulations on your upcoming wedding

don't worry about blaming post-baby weight - we all do it - I do and my youngest is 16 YEARS!!!!!! lol

I have the opposite problem to you - I'm perfect when I'm out and in front of other people (no-one can ever say that it's no wonder I'm so fat!!!!) but I struggle when I'm at home! Doing a bit better now but it's a constant battle.

good luck and you'll certainly find loads of support on here

    Welcome to all the newbies.....

    Well Jillian proved interesting.....

I can't do the cardio bit - even on level 1 - I can't jump - it hurts my knees. I will have to substitute something else. I knew i was in trouble in the warm up - the knee circles produced a lot of clicking:eek::eek:.

but today I am suitably stiff - which has to be good...

Thanks piglet. I have the target book that was given out a few weeks back but I've still not managed to read it:o. I like to keep close to the bottom of the target range then I feel I've got a buffer if I want to treat myself. It has caused me a few problems as once I slipped 5.5 lbs below range (so 8.5lbs below target). I'm still convinced the scales were wrong;) but I had to pay to get back:eek: I don't know about you but although I probably could drop down 7lbs but I'd hate to look scrawny so I'm trying to maintain.

oh i love the wee target book :o sad or what!

i actually took it to bed to read last sat.nite after i felt i had overdone it! :o

i am the same, my initial target was 12.4, when i reached it, over the next 6 weeks or so i lost another half stone so adjusted my target, so now its 11.12, with my current weight 11.10

i know that is still technically overweight, for my height my upper weight is 11.1, but im a size 12 for the first time in years, and i dont want to be any smaller,

i am a bit boney around the neck, and i know if i was to try and loose another stone it would prob come off my thinner parts, and not my wee belly :o

scroll down and u can see a wee cartoon man doing them…

i swear by them, i have 200 done this morning already, tho as you can do one a second, its no big deal :o

i would say they will come with a DVD or a sheet with some exercises on them

the link above does not show sit ups which i do, just take one band, hook it over your feet, and crunch, and crunch, and crunch x 20 :D

let me know how you get on ;)

At least it's a wee belly piglet!:rotfl:Thanks for your post, I am now inspired to read the target booklet. I'm also going to have a good read of the other book as I do tend to work from memory a lot these days and that's how odd syns can creep in.

Interestingly mm, we had a discussion at my group this morning about evening eating. A couple of people were mentioning that some gyms/personal trainers recommended not eating carbs after 7 p.m. Some had given it a go and it didn't help weightloss at all! So, as we thought, it's what you eat not when you eat it.

Welcome newleafmum. Presumably you don't have much to lose as you don't want your dress to be hanging off you. This thread is as good as any group (better than many:D).

WI for me this morning and I lost 2lbs! I'm pleased with that as I'm now only 1lb over what I was before my holiday. This will be a mixed week coming up as I'm out to lunch tomorrow for a start but I now have almost all my target range as a good buffer.

    Today's EE menu:
B: HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk, strawberries
L: I may have more stir-fried veg with a slice of ham, enjoyed that yesterday.
D: my version of Tana Ramsay's sausage casserole (contains sausage, bacon, cabbage, leeks, onion, carrots, mushrooms potatoes and butter beans).
    http://uktv.co.uk/food/recipe/aid/588087

Syns: sausage: I know it's a low syn one but haven't got the packaing so maybe 2 max.
  • Hi everyone.. and welcome all the newbies! I am quite new myself as only been here 3 weeks!

WI today - it was not my usual group as I was unable to go on Tuesday this week... I was delighted to have lost another 4LB! Also got slimmer of the week - so I came home with a big bag of fresh fruit and a real boost to my self esteem!!

I am on holidays next week - so hope I stay motivated!

i keep a diary and each day i make a note like below

    syns - 13
exercises - 200 weigh bands and swimming pool
    walk - 3 miles
HEX - 2 breads no milks

or whatever the case may be

it really does help to keep it written down. esp when you are at target, i dont think there is any need to write down, 2 apples, 1 banana, etc, at the start i did write down every single bite, but i think once you get to target, that you still need to take notes, but not every bite,

on a sat it might look more like

syns - chinese plus 10 syns
    exercises - 200 weigh bands
    walk - 6 miles
    HEX - None

I'm feeling a little bit more positive - I started to write out a food plan the other day and I immediately felt better for doing this - I need to plan a whole week and stick to it!

Last night I resisted the tempation to buy pizza on the way home from work - instead I had oven chips (not great) with ham and eggs. Despite the chips, still better than pizza.

I definitely need to plan my syns. I'm still having too many. I was thinking of writing syns on coloured stars and picking one to enjoy each day.

Im also increasing the body magic albeit little steps. Walking from the train station to the office means a 10/15 min walk each day - it all helps.

Supposed to be going back to running tonight but dont fancy it if being honest so not sure what to do. suspect it will get put off for another week
