I'd like to give my experience of weight to dress size.
I'm 5ft 5inch and I am not particularly wide, my belly is my issue more than anything.
8 stone size 6-8 I was this weight weight before and after my first child about 20 years ago, I actually went to 7st 10lbs 4 weeks after giving birth. :(
10 stone I can fit in a comfortable size 10.
    12 stone size 12 but pushing on a 14
    14 stone size 16
    16 stone size 18
and once I was 18 stone wearing a size 20 but could fit into some size 18s depending on cut.

See I'm 5'4" but cos I carry my weight on my hips and thighs at 10st 6 I'm a 14 in trousers - need to be below 9st 10 ish to be a 12 and less than 9st to be a 10 - my top is usually a size below

I guess it will have a syn value due to the stock cube but seeing as how it made about 10 batches of soup I'll live with it :j

I'm sure stock cubes are free now.

  • On the size subject... I'm 5'7 and at 13st3 am a size 14 (reluctantly admitting that as i've been a 12 for years!) but when i went down to 10st7 on ww years ago, I was a size 10. anything inbetween those i stay at a 12. recommended weight for my height is 9.6 to 11.2 i think if i remember rightly, but i think at 9st6 i'd be horribly skinny!

I'm the same, though a little shorter at 5ft 1, when I hit 10st 6 I couldn't get into a 12 when I needed new jeans, that was my big light bulb moment. No offence to anyone here but I refuse to be a size 14!!! I'm now a comfortable 12 at 9st 12, am a 10 at about 9-9.5st.
Am an 8 on top at under 9 stone but like you Rach I'm bottom heavy. Will need to be about 8-8.5 stone to be an 8 on the bottom.

  • Isn't it funny, so many of us think that at our "suggested target" we'd look so skinny it would be unhealthy?

According weight/height chart they have online I need to be around 11 stone! I can't imagine me at that weight. I'll be happy as a size 14 whatever weight that bracket might fall in.

Boy -- it's busy here today and gives great reading but need to move my butt now and make shepherds pies. I do individual small ones. I top OHs with potatoes and mine with carrots and turnip etc.

i usally only take Xenical once a day, with my main meal, cause breakfast and lunch is just usually yoghurts, fruit, cereal bar, etc

so my main meal is usually meat, spuds, veg, or spag-bol, stew, curry once a week, SW Chips and SW burgers another day, so i would usually just take Xenical with it

my GP gives me 8 weeks supply and i have to go to get weighed after this time,

like yourself, i feel great, since i hit the 4 stone loss, i could actually FEEL thinner, when i walked etc. i felt lighter, and feel loads better.

I am going for tests next week for sleep apnoea. When I saw my GP last week I asked if I could have some Xenical or something similar to help me lose weight faster. She refused but did admit the sleep problems could be caused by weight gain. :(

I was a steady 10st until 6 years ago when I went onto steroids and then broke my ankle. I went up to 14st in a matter of weeks and although I got down to 12st on SW online I have not gone below for over a year until today :D

I have no willpower and today have eaten 4 small pieces of chocolate brownie undoing all the good I did earlier in the day:mad: I am not exercising because I have sprained ribs after a fall last week.

ETA I have just looked up the syns for the brownie and they come to 28 syns!!
