can i ask what height you are, (sorry if i asked before) i am 5st6

its just that our targets are very similar (mine is 11.12) and my starting weight was 18.1, so that would be a total loss of 6stone 3

just like you i CANNOT wait to see 11 on the scales....even if it is 11.13.5....it will bring me so near to target, i just cannt wait, tho i have to get my 6 stone award before that, (12.1)

i hope to be at target by 4th july, that will be a year since i started Slimming World, not bad as it took me 10 years to put the weight on, ,

i was in Orlando 2 years ago and when i look back on the photos i am....OMG...:mad::eek:

I will just have to go back now, to have a decent pic to look back on!:D

    Hi Piglet,
My height is 5 ft 4 in and my start weight was 17 st 8.5lb so I am aiming to lose 6 stone which takes me to 11 st 8.5lb, hopefully for the beg of June as that was my first weeks weight loss ( started end of May ).

If I can get lower than that would be fab but I do have to be realistic about this.

I feel fantastic health wise, after my heart scare last summer and having to have 3 months off work, I am on medications now for the rest of my life so I know that I need to keep the weight off for my own health.

Going back to your Orlistat ( Xenical ) I was prescribed it by my doc a few years ago because I was so overweight on the understanding that I would go to the clinic every week and be weighed, and only if I had lost some was I given another prescription for some more.

Having to eat some fat at each meal for the tab to work ( and if you dont then its no use taking it as it works in the presence of fat ) I found that I was running to the loo unexpectedly and very suddenly.
As I am a carer in the community I found myself dashing home to use the loo when the cramps started because I would have been too embarrased to use someone elses loo, especially when sometimes it looked like I had pebble dashed it! :rotfl:

After 2 years it was stopped as doc said it is not a life long thing. I think really, looking back I should have been offered counselling and seen a dietician in order to change my eating habits, needless to say, that when I stopped taking them the weight crept back up again.
So here I am today feeling great, losing weight through great support and encouragement through going to classes and using this forum :D and hoping that my lifestyle is changing for good. :)

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

I'd like to give my experience of weight to dress size.
I'm 5ft 5inch and I am not particularly wide, my belly is my issue more than anything.
8 stone size 6-8 I was this weight weight before and after my first child about 20 years ago, I actually went to 7st 10lbs 4 weeks after giving birth. :(
10 stone I can fit in a comfortable size 10.
    12 stone size 12 but pushing on a 14
    14 stone size 16
    16 stone size 18
and once I was 18 stone wearing a size 20 but could fit into some size 18s depending on cut.

when i started SW i was 18 stone 1 and a size 20 on the bottom and a 20 / 24 on top, just depending on the top, or the shop,

now i am 12.7 and a size 12 (in primark, havent shopped anywhere else yet)

tho i would say at 11.12 (target) i will still be a size 12

Yep sounds about the same here then.

BTW you meantioned River Island, they go up to a size 16 or maybe an 18 and some of the clothes are quite generous like some skirts or tops, whereas jeans etc aren't! I bought a size 16 skirt from there a couple of weeks back, it does have a bit of stretch in it though! :p

i usally only take Xenical once a day, with my main meal, cause breakfast and lunch is just usually yoghurts, fruit, cereal bar, etc

so my main meal is usually meat, spuds, veg, or spag-bol, stew, curry once a week, SW Chips and SW burgers another day, so i would usually just take Xenical with it

my GP gives me 8 weeks supply and i have to go to get weighed after this time,

like yourself, i feel great, since i hit the 4 stone loss, i could actually FEEL thinner, when i walked etc. i felt lighter, and feel loads better.

that's never going to happen though as I'm 54 now and not a young un' :rotfl:
    me.

Don't mean to be too personal, gettingthere54 but why do you think your age matters? I'm even older than you!!! I gradually put on weight over 10 years due to a number of things. Age was probably one factor but so was promotion to a more sedentary job, said job being stressful got me having more wine, more wine encouraged to me to munch on crisps.....:o

I think it all depends on height / starting weight etc.

I'd definitely agree about the height and the starting weight probably matters because I think you get better losses when you have a lot to lose. So, if you don't need to lose much/closer to target then it slows up a bit. I started SW when I couldn't get into a 16 and refused to buy an 18. I started at 13st 9lbs and I'm 5ft 9in. I lost 3st+ in 10 months and am back to the 10.5 stone which has been my 'winter' weight all my adult life. I'm wearing 12s (10s from some shops). My biggest problem is that I love the SW healthy way of eating so much that I've found it hard to not go under target. Imagine having to force yourself to eat chocolate!!;)

Really getting nervous for my first weigh in tomorrow night.

Do you all eat as usual on WI day or do you wait for WI and then go crazy? lol

I go to a morning WI and have my lightest breakfast of the week (Puffed Wheat) and always wear similar clothes. Lots of people have nothing, go to the loo when they arrive and then sit eating breakfast during Body Magic. When I have gone to an evening group I leave my dinner until I go home but I do have lunch and breakfast. I'm not one of those who goes to the chippy after WI but I do think about having lighter meals before rather than after.

    Thanks.
I'm thinking of having a really light day tomorrow before WI.....last week on my first WI I had nothing to eat all day but it would be silly to do that now I'm establishing a routine with eating reg meals. However, I think it also makes sense to replicate last Thurs to get a true WI.

I will stick with a couple of mullerlights and fruit I think.

BTW does anyone know if I can substitute sour cream and chive with fromage frais and chive? We need it with our chilli but don't want the syns.

I have tried making chicken soup in the past but when I boil/simmer the carcass, the resultant stock is really greasy.

hi thats what I found too,I don't do that I throw the carcass out cause it just seems full of grease and fat, I made a big batch of veg soup, alll the stuff left really, brock, calli, carrots, peas (just a few frozen) onions mushrooms and lots of yellow peppers, added one knore (?) stock cube (veg) then halfed it (big pan full) and blitzed half to make thick veg soup and the other half I just put all the little bits of meat that I normally give the cat (sorry Byron :o ) into the pot, its bumming lovely, I guess it will have a syn value due to the stock cube but seeing as how it made about 10 batches of soup I'll live with it :j
the mince it just mince onion garlic, lazy chilli, chilli power, black pepper, mixed pepper chopped up fine, mushrooms, bit of tom pur!e, chopped toms (fresh) bit of soy sauce.

It changes whenever I make it tbh, I then spray fry light onto pepper outside grill until browning then stuff inside with mince mixture and sprinkle with a bit of cheese and re-grill hope you enjoy :)
