Hi piget, I just wanted to say a HUGE well done on your weight loss, you are absolutely inspirational. I was going to ask the same question about how you had managed to achieve it, bu tis has already been answered.
I wonder if I could please ask you about the Orlistat instead, I used to take it about 2 years ago when I went on a diet and (apologies if TMI) it used to give me unexpected and rather explosive number 2's, and always seemed to be a really inconvienient times, eg when I had to take my son to nursery.
I have been thining about going to the doctor to ask for some more, but am concerned about the side effects. Do you have any problems with them?

sorry about all the posts folks, i dont know how to multi quote,

i dont have any of the horror stories about the horrific side effects, i think its because it does tell you in the box that they work best when used with a low fat diet,

i find that everything passes off naturally in the mornings, albeit a little bit softer, sorry if TMI,

i have read some right  experinces with taking the tablets with a lot of fat,

i still have my chinese takeaway on a sat nite, but i dont suffer the effects, i think this might be because i drain all the curry sauce off (onto hubbys plate!!)

if you eat fat, you will suffer while on the tablets, its very hard to avoid all fat, but even keeping it to a minimum, or under 5% helps,

chicken and veg home made soup

I have tried making chicken soup in the past but when I boil/simmer the carcass, the resultant stock is really greasy.

What am I doing wrong? Or maybe this is OK and I should let the fat set in the fridge overnight then skim it off before making the soup? I'm not sure actually but maybe I added some of the skin to the pot...

Many thanks for any advice - I love chicken and a chicken/veg/noodle soup would be a lovely way to use up leftovers..

Sorry lamarsi - another cooking question if you don't mind.

I really like the sound of this. Do you add the cooked mince to the raw pepper then cook it all together to cook the pepper? Or do you roast the pepper separately then fill with the mince?

Many thanks. My daughter is not a huge fan of peppers but I may be able to tempt her if they are red and roasted and full of yummy mince.

the group my pal goes to were told that there is 7 / 10lbs in a size, but i have found it to be at least a stone a size for me, (lost over 5.5 stone, dropped 5 sizes)

I think it all depends on height / starting weight etc. I have a friend who is usually 10 and a half to 11 stone and is a size 12. If she goes above about 11st 4 she is into a size 14.

    For me a size 16 is between 12st & 13 1/2st, and once I go over 13st 7 it's definitely an 18.

On the other hand I have a work colleague who is approx 16 st and swears she is a size 16 (she's 5'6) and squeezes herself into them - she would look so much better if she would wear a bigger size but she refuses.

    So for me...
    16 - 18st Size 22
    14.7 - 16st Size 20
    13.7 - 14.7 Size 18
    12.0 - 13.7 Size 16
below 12st - who knows... it's so long since I have been there but I will be very excited to find out!!

    Good morning :)

Having a bit of a bleurgh day.....rotten cold with a sore throat! When I'm ill my appetite increases for some reason so just polished off
2 tesco healthy sausages, much better than the Morrisons ones, and I would rather have an extra 1/2syn per sausage if it means I enjoy them. 2 slices of bacon, 2 eggs, small tin of spag hoops and 2 slices of hovis HEB and topped with loads of worcester sauce yum! So just brunch this morning.

I'm doing a hot chilli for tonight's dinner with rice and some sweet potato wedges.

    Snacks strawbs, rasps, apple

    And I'm enjoying a 2 finger kitkat around 9pm lately 5.5syns
So syns for today should be in the region of 7.5

Really getting nervous for my first weigh in tomorrow night.

Do you all eat as usual on WI day or do you wait for WI and then go crazy? lol

    morning :)

I am a bit mad at myself as I had a really good day yesterday but ruined it a bit having a very small portion of fish shop chips :( no other syns yesterday so it's not too bad...

Having ham, tomato and melon for breakfast
lunch will be out(might take a wm bread roll or some quiche and fruit)
no idea about dinner yet but going shopping today so will have plenty of choice...

It's lovely to read about all the 5+ stones lost(even if you struggle a bit at the moment it's a great loss and I so can't wait till I'm there!)
I find all your stories really motivating and just wanted to thank you :)

I think my choc cravings(or more of an obsession and greed!) are slowly going away... It would be a great help if they did as it's my biggest downfall and the reason why I put back on all the weight I managed to loose once :(

Can't wait for the happy clothes shopping trips too... when everything fits and you don't have to look for the biggest size :/ I remember how surprised I was once when I tried a pair of skinny jeans size 10(my thighs are my problem area so skinny jeans were always a no-no!) and they fitted! and I even bought them and wore them too! LOL Now all the lovely clothes are waiting in the back of my wardrobe for me :D

Very well done on your loss, it's downwards all the way now! :D :T
Try freezing curly wurlys, they taste much better cold, and last longer too :rotfl:
Keep up the good work and keep us informed. x

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

I'd like to give my experience of weight to dress size.
I'm 5ft 5inch and I am not particularly wide, my belly is my issue more than anything.
8 stone size 6-8 I was this weight weight before and after my first child about 20 years ago, I actually went to 7st 10lbs 4 weeks after giving birth. :(
10 stone I can fit in a comfortable size 10.
    12 stone size 12 but pushing on a 14
    14 stone size 16
    16 stone size 18
and once I was 18 stone wearing a size 20 but could fit into some size 18s depending on cut.

It does make a big difference. My daughter who is much lighter than me is also much MUCH shorter than me but we can wear each others clothes. She does look thinner than me though and tends to wear a smaller size.

I mean a size or two down from me.
