Morning all. I am offiicially off my horrid steroids for the next two weeks so I can concentrate on getting ahead of myself weight-losswise (hopefully) so that when the next round comes along I will have a few pounds to play with. I am at my in-laws at the moment so I can't weigh accurately but it doesn't feel like I have put any on while I've been away. Going home tonight so will find out tomorow morning on my own no-lies scales.

Good luck to all weighing in today, hugs to those feeling down.
  • Well done, cookingmama, cyclingyorkie (even if you have to wait another week for that sticker;) ) and blackberry-rum on the losses.

My WI tonight, learned that my consultant is leaving:( after easter. Not sure whether to follow her to her other groups, or wait and see who -if anyone takes over. my SW night is my night out! (sad I know!)
Hoping for my bronze body magic award sticker (glee!:D more shinies!!) I know I have lost more as hubby commented on how good I was looking... in my scruff!! Love those comments that come when your not expecting them! :j

Totally forgot about my planned fry-up breakie, might put it down for lunch I think.

Mini-the-minx are you thinking of superspeed foods (Mushy peas etc) ? I'm new at this too and not heard of Express.

good luck with the scales there Sarah999 - and good morning to you too!

I would be happy to lose 5 stone and get into a size 10/12. The thing is I don't think I'm fat, in my head I'm thin until I see a picture of myself and I think OMG I look hideous. Last year before I lost my 3 stone I was really starting to struggle to get clothes from Primark but just managed, it's ok again now I can buy most things from there. If I hadn't joined SW I would've been back to where I was last summer. I remember losing my 7 stone years ago walking into Next and buying a pair of jeans size 10 and I knew I was a definite size 10 because there clothes back then were not very generous fitting, it's changed a little bit since then but if I can get into a size 10/12 Next pair of jeans I will happy!

i think we do sometimes get hung up on the number on the scales, it can be better if you set your target as a size, and then work on your weight target around that,

if i went by the chart, for my height, i should be between 8 stone 6 (i would look like death warmed up!!) and 11.1

but as i am fitting into most size 12s at 12.7, i am setting a final target of 11.12,

that will be a total loss of 6 stone 3lbs, and if i stay within the 3lbs leeway allowed with SW, i will always have 6 stone off, thats the plan anyway :D

    morning :)

I am a bit mad at myself as I had a really good day yesterday but ruined it a bit having a very small portion of fish shop chips :( no other syns yesterday so it's not too bad...

Having ham, tomato and melon for breakfast
lunch will be out(might take a wm bread roll or some quiche and fruit)
no idea about dinner yet but going shopping today so will have plenty of choice...

It's lovely to read about all the 5+ stones lost(even if you struggle a bit at the moment it's a great loss and I so can't wait till I'm there!)
I find all your stories really motivating and just wanted to thank you :)

I think my choc cravings(or more of an obsession and greed!) are slowly going away... It would be a great help if they did as it's my biggest downfall and the reason why I put back on all the weight I managed to loose once :(

Can't wait for the happy clothes shopping trips too... when everything fits and you don't have to look for the biggest size :/ I remember how surprised I was once when I tried a pair of skinny jeans size 10(my thighs are my problem area so skinny jeans were always a no-no!) and they fitted! and I even bought them and wore them too! LOL Now all the lovely clothes are waiting in the back of my wardrobe for me :D

Are you a SW consultant? You certainly have all the inspirational "been there done that" to run one!

I have to agree with you piglet74, SW is easier to keep up with than not.
I still can't get over the savings I am making; in true MSE style tonight's spag bol was tempered down with lentils -neither kid noticed!(asda's £3.03 lean mince divided into four portions - 3 of which are now in the freezer) Was lovely, served up with corn on the cob and spiral pasta. I think the whole family meal cost £3!
    Very full now.

I think some cheese and crackers for snacks tonight with a small glass of wine to relax with and I'll be ready for another WI tomorrow.

no, not at all, im not a consultant, im only at SW the past 9 months (i couldnt afford to be a consultant, i have read somewhere it costs £2k - 2.5k to start up?)

but when i started i promised myself i was going to do it right and give it my best shot, that i was going to read, re-read and read again the books until i understood it (i still take them to bed regularly to refresh my mind)

i do find it cheaper too, as i am not buying all the sweets, crisps, bars etc that i used to buy

i get weeks out of a loaf of bread now, (when i need to buy a wholemeal loaf i freeze it in slices of 2, and i prob only eat it once or twice a week - when doing a green day) where as before, in a week i was going thru a few white loaves, rolls, baguettes etc

now i am not spending on sweets and junk food, i spend on fruit and yoghurts, so i dont find it expensive to follow at all either:money:

    Piglet, your a real star!

Although I have lost just over 5 stone I still go for the bigger sizes.
I think its a mental thing, when I look in the mirror I still see myself as being big, but others keep saying that I have lost enough and a few people have said that I have overdone it.

Take today for instance, I went to get some more work trousers from asda, I automatically look for size 18 knowing full well that size 14 is baggy on my bum :D I also look at size 16/18 tops and they look like sacks, but apparently my BMI says I should be 9 stone 3lbs, that's never going to happen though as I'm 54 now and not a young un' :rotfl:

I am " overweight " now and not " obese " but I am going for 11 stone 8 1/2 lb for my target, that takes me to a dead 6 stone loss. :)
I cant wait to see the 11 stones even 11 stone 13 1/2 lb, that will be awesome!
So I am hoping that for the first week in June I get to my target, that will be exactly 12 months to lose the 6 stone.

Therefore there will be no :easter::easter_ba or :easter_os for me.
Also 6 weeks today we fly to Orlando for 8 days and I hope to be pretty near to target by then.
Roll on WI tomorrow, and hope the scales are kind to me :rotfl::rotfl:

can i ask what height you are, (sorry if i asked before) i am 5st6

its just that our targets are very similar (mine is 11.12) and my starting weight was 18.1, so that would be a total loss of 6stone 3

just like you i CANNOT wait to see 11 on the scales....even if it is 11.13.5....it will bring me so near to target, i just cannt wait, tho i have to get my 6 stone award before that, (12.1)

i hope to be at target by 4th july, that will be a year since i started Slimming World, not bad as it took me 10 years to put the weight on,

i was in Orlando 2 years ago and when i look back on the photos i am....OMG...:mad::eek:

I will just have to go back now, to have a decent pic to look back on!:D

piglet - i ended up having a bit of cheese and two thumping bowls of stew that had (in portions anyway) less than an 8th of a teasp of bisto lol so i dunno what to count that as...

if i went by the weight that my consultant wants me to be i should be 9st 9 which is the bottom weight for my height- in reality i can be 10st 5 and still be within a healthy weight. like you said, if i was 9'9 i'd look like death.

ideally i would LOOOOOOOOOVVVE to be between a 10-12 dress size, but i dont know if that would look right on me, (ive generally been around a 14 most of my life) so id be more than happy if i got to a 12 :)

right now my butt and the top of my legs are still a large 14 though, so i figure if i work on that, it might work quicker?

    sorry for the ramble lol

today, to keep me going in work, i have a mahoosive fresh fruit salad made up to take with me with melon, apple, orange, kiwi, plums and raspberries and bluberries in it :)
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:

That's a lovely honest post Piglet, I bet lots of us feel or felt like that. It's in our own hands/minds what we do about it. You are doing sooooo well you'll need to change your username!

well.... DRUM ROLLLLLLLLL..... 2.5 lbs off for me this week! I think that is my largest ever loss. I've had smoked salmon most days because sainsbury's had hot smoked salmon strips at £1 off so I bought 2 packs. Also most meals have had a dollop of baked beans on, following something someone mentioned on here a week or so back .. fab idea, thanks, plus superfree!:D

Onward and downward all, well done all you losers and big encouraging hugs for anyone briefly heading in the other direction:D

    thank you so much,

well done on the loss :j:beer:

i girl in our group ate fish for 5 days (cause someone at another group also did it, and lost 6lbs!) and she lost 4lbs!

im not a fish person tho.....except the "bad" kind from the fish and chip shop!:D

i will have fish this friday for Good Friday, but i will have SW chips with it, and cut the batter off it, (tho that will KILL me):D

piglet how come they lost so much weight from just fish? it sounds a little bit umm..... unsafe if theyve lost that much on one food item?

a lot of fish is counted as 'superspeed' food - plaice, haddock, cod etc.
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j
