Lalamb – I think it was you who talked about bloating (if not sorry).
I just wanted to say that last week I put ON 5lb which I put down to bloating.
This happens at times and if I wait and weigh another day it would not be there.
This week I LOST 7lb :j so that was to me the 5 I put on + 2 more. Sometimes at that time I would give up (accompanied by a few choice words)but not this time!!:D
I am taking the scenic route but the weight is coming off:o
I saw a recipe for quiche using couscous as a base -- now I cant find it. Can anyone help please;)0 -
I think that's brilliant. I'm starting the gym at the end of April and hoping it helps me along. I would like to lose 4 stone by 1st Nov because that's when we go on holiday. I worked out I would have to lose an average of 2lbs per week to get to my goal and you have shown it's definitely do-able!
Keep up the good work, I bet people hardly recognise you now.
thank you so much, yes a few people have walked passed me, or i have spoke to them and then they will say "i nearly walked past you, i did not know you there" etc
the most common thing people have been saying since i past the 4 stone mark was (well after dont loose any more, or you have lost enough) "it has taken years off you" or people who hear i am almost 38 are saying, "i would have guessed you were about 25"
i personally did not see ANY difference at all, until i past the 4 stone, then i seen it all at once, i now cannot beleive that i was so big, and its good to see that, because that will really help me keep it off, i think, i hope!0 -

I had a 'not recognising' moment a while back, a teacher who moved abroad still has a house here and visits every school holiday. She came to school when our Head retired. There were 3 people in a room [me, her & 1 other] stacking chairs and she totally blanked me. I was really amazed as I worked as her TA for a couple of years and my son was in her class but she totally didn't recognise me. I lost 2.5st originally and she was still here for most of that. I gained 1.5st then lost it again and a bit more since shes been away. Now I don't think I look THAT different, to not be recognised AT ALL but who knows :rotfl: She never did speak to me though
Mind you I still do a double take when walking past a full length mirror in shops, often seen to be walking past several times gawping at myself cos I don't believe its me. Even after over a year this size, bonkers or what :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Its not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T

i am the same, still lifting bigger clothes, and still cant beleive i can get into a size 12, i said when i started (at size 20 bottoms, 22 /24 top due to my chest!!) that i didnt care what weight i was, as long as i got down to a size 14 i would be happy,
then when i got to a 14, i knew i could keep going, now for the first time in ages, i can get into 12s, and a whole basket of clothes in Primark is costing me the same as ONE item in Evans etc,
i look in mirrors and then realise its ME, and when doing my make up in the mornings, i have a double sided mirror, one side magnified, i keep using the magnified side by mistake, cause to me, thats how i still look
i think i now know what Dawn French meant when she said how she "missed" her fat body, and how her new shape felt alien to her,
its not all about weight either, tho you can find (esp if you WI at a group) that you get totally hung up on the number on the scale, eg i am DELIGHTED to be in a size 12, i even have a few size 10 tops, and i am so happy about that, but i am still "overweight" at 12 and half stone, and i want to keep going until i see 11 on the scales,0 -
Piglet that is great. I once lost 7 stone in just over a year about 11 years ago but not due to a diet as such just a complete change in lifestyle, a career change and other factors, I didn't even notice it come off but then I had my 3rd and 4th child which just piled on the weight.
I was rushed to hospital last summer with what turned out to be pancreatitis due to gallstones. I lost 3 stone 2 of that within 8 weeks because I more or less completely cut out fat, but put almost 1 stone on since my gallbladder op in January, so I really needed to get onto something and SW is the answer I think.
It wont always be easy but so far so good, I can't wait for someone to say you've lost too much weight, it happened last time and I know it will happen again!0 -
The recipe was one I found online - it used 'ponzu' sauce which I goggled and turned out can sub a mix of citrus juice and soy - reckon it'd be even yummier with lime or a mix. I just chopped the veg by hand but yep guess could shred in the fp. If the kids hadn't been eating it too I would have added some julienne chilli too. The original recipe used sesame seeds but I left them out as was already having the peanuts but would inc if I had the syns
It sounds lovely, I will definitely give this one a try.Lalamb – I think it was you who talked about bloating (if not sorry).

It was me, but it seemed to have died down a bit earlier today, feeling slightly bloated again now though but I think it's potatoes, I had a jacket at lunch time and I'm really going to mess up today now because I'm having mashed potatoes for dinner tonight.
Well done you on the 7lbs, you must feel fabulous!
I will die if they tell me I've put on 5lbs on my first week!
I'm trying to remember when I had my last period because I do tend to put on a couple of pounds right before it but I don't think I'm due till next week.0 -

i really do love SW, its not a diet, it is DEFO something you can do for the rest of your life?
how much do you want to loose in total this time?
you are right...IT WILL HAPPEN...becaure YOU will make it happen,
its not easy, but i think..IMO...being fat is a lot harder, than getting up and doing something about it.
you are trying on clothes in shops with the sweat lashing off you, cause you are squeezing into things, then you buy things not because you like them, or thats what you want, you buy them because they fit you.
you cant find a car parking space near enough the door and you dont want to walk too far.
you avoid the camera.
you avoid shopping.
you avoid eating out because you dont want people looking at you thinking "any wonder she is fat"
i say.."you"..i of course mean "me"
cause thats what i was like0
