Nadgers. I wrote a whole long piece and then lost it.

The gist was, I survived a difficult weekend with two meals out and endless booze-pushing opportunities (no one knows I'm pregnant yet so it's doubly hard to stop them buying me drinks!). Scales are looking good this morning - I seem to be settling at 9stone 13, which is very exciting - can't remember the last time I was 9 stone anything for any length of time.

Have got holiday in Lanzarote next week which I'm very much looking forward to though slightly worried about keeping the weight in check. I'm still following SW guidlines but also calorie counting on an app on my phone, which is really helpful. It's weird though - this is lowest weight I've been for a long time, and yet my middle is still much pudgier than I would nrmally be even half a stone heavier than this. APparently this is the steroids - they make you swell around the middle (I know pregnancy does too before anyopne says anything! But I'm only six weeks so no excuses there yet!).

You're doing really well at the moment and reining it in is, in a lot of ways, the hardest part. If the old you would not have done that then it's progress. I think we need to keep seeing the bigger picture and not beat ourselves up over a small blip. Am going to try and keep thinking of what Beanie said about not becoming overweight from one night out!

I agree with this but I think it's a good sign that we're disappointed with ourselves for not sticking to plan. What matters is that the angry feeling is dealt with by taking control and getting back to it not the 's*d it' route.

Well done Blodwen on staying in control on the pub crawl. It sounds as if the eating in advance technique was really helpful. It's so easy to munch on all the wrong things when you've had a few drinks.

I don't think your lunch sounds too bad mm. Seems like you made quite wise choices and I'm sure the raisins and biscuits won't have wrecked 3 weeks work. It must be difficult with the dietary laws. Perhaps plain balsamic on your salad would be an option for a future visit. You had that nsv with the skirt (and Blodwen with her photos) and hopefully that has motivated you a bit. When weightloss becomes more noticeable to others (and yourself) I found I was really spurred on to keep it up. It's as if when others noticed it wasn't just me and my conscience any more IYSWIM.

Enough rambling, here's my EE plan for today:
B: baked beans, HEB toast, HEA milk for teas
L: something like bubble & squeak with LO veg from yesterday
D: beef stir fry with loads of SF veg and rice
    Syns: none planned today
  • Hi All,

Can I join? I re-joined SW last week. Used to go before I got married and lost a few stone. Back again after putting it back on and more.

Have a question. If coffee is free and skimmed milk is part of my HE: B why isnt a skinny latte free?

Determined to go for it this time but need some online support so hope im in teh right place! x

    Hi,

I've decided to get back on the SW wagon with a renewed sense of purpose and have managed to rope in the OH too. I have a question though, do men get more syns or should he be sticking to between 5 and 15 a day? Also if he's going to the pub on Friday after work can he save up his syns and blow them all on beer? I know,it's not the best approach and I would rather eat my calories but each to their own!

I am currently 15st 9lb and fed up with always feeling fat and 'trying' to lose weight before I turn to the chocolate/cake/sweets/anything I know is bad for me to make myself feel better! I need to break the habit and with the summer holidays upon us I will be in control of what I do and when so can actually take the time to exercise and cook batches of syn free dinners to keep me on the straight and narrow when September rears its ugly head!

Nice to see lots of new faces on here. Welcome!:)

I have just mad a huge pot of Leek & Potato Soup (SW of course). Hubby and I had a large bowl each and I'll freeze the rest in individual pots. If I'm not here and hubby pops in for lunch there is always something for him - all he has to do is heat it in the microwave. I am getting so organised I am surprising myself.;)

Leeks were on special offer - trimmed and washed 2 pkts for £2 which is a total of 8 large leeks. I should think the whole pot of soup therefore cost about £2.50 with a few chives and the potatoes. Can't go wrong really.:)
