:hello:
It's probably too late now as you'll be out enjoying your lunch with your friend mm (am I right you're two hours ahead of us?). We discussed eating out at my group this week. One tip I passed on was to take a little bottle of dressing (HM or low cal) with you in your handbag and ask for a plain salad and then add your own. Others advised saying you have an allergy (e.g.to fat) when ordering meals as restaurants seem to take more notice of this due to Health & Safety.
Congratulations on your nsv with the skirt mm.:T
Pennylane, I don't want to be gloom and doom but sometimes those tubs of ready made salads can be full of oil and mayo. I find grabbing a packet of cold meat and cut up fruit the best way to deal with being caught out.
Sorry if I implied that it was easy to plan and carry it out FE. I know you have put huge efforts into meal planning. I've been doing SW for almost two years now and it took me 10 months to get to target. I often felt I'd sabotaged a whole week's plan by, for example, eating a 'bad' meal out and felt really depressed. It's about every day being a shiny, fresh new start. It's never easy (too much tasty rubbish around for that) but in time it becomes a way of life.
My EE plan for today:
B: HEB Puffed Wheat, HEA milk, strawberries
L: Not really hungry yet but have cottage cheese, ham, JP, fruit and pickles to choose from.roast beef, SW roasties, carrots, cabbage
Syns: wine, gravy and maybe some horseradish.0 -
Is your speed soup the same as what they call Dyno-rod soup? If so, I love the stuff - I made a huge pot of it last week and froze loads.
2 large onions, chopped & fried in frylite
Garlic
1 tin baked beans
1 tin kidney beans
1 tin green lentils
2 small tins butter beans
2 tins of tomatoes
2 veg oxo cubes
salt & pepper
1/2 teaspoon chilli flakesTry to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Thank you for all your replies. It means a lot
Its odd because I know what I need to do (and what I need to eat) to turn things around yet actually having a day where I'm good is well, rare!
Its breakfast that's the downfall for me because I never used to eat breakfast when I was younger and its stuck. So now a combination of not having enough time in the morning (the snooze button wins!) means that I'm left with very little time to prep anything for breakfast let alone lunch. So I trot off to work having eaten nowt! Then I'm on my way to work and suddenly the hunger munchies take hold and I find myself eating a cereal bar that is at least 10 syns so my day's syns *gone* before the day has even started. Before my hols, I was taking those Weight Watchers frozen meals to work - these vary syn wise but average about 6. so add that to the cereal bar I've had and I'm over the benchmark 15 syns for the day. Throw in chocolate nibbles mid morning and the day has all but gone pear shaped. I will say that I do try to munch on fruit as a *second breakfast* and I nibble on this throughout the morning but boredom and stress often leave me craving something naughty.
Oven chips have become the norm. More syns.
As I write this down, I'm amazed. Daft.
I know I must prep fruit and lunch the day before and if I meal plan and follow it to the letter then I know I will be well on my way. Why is it so hard to put it into practice ?? Enough waffle for now.0 -

Can you not have cereal bars as your HEB?Try to be a rainbow in someone's cloud.0 -
Can you not have cereal bars as your HEB?
I could but since SW discontinued the Ruby Hi Fi bar, I've struggled to find a bar that I like. Plus if Im following EE, I begrudge using my only HEB on a cereal bar.
Plus I find if I take cereal bars to work that I find myself eating them whether I intend to or not - just because they are there! I'm going to try and be organised and eat HEB friendly cereal.
I've prepped a salad to take tomorrow so the week is getting off to a good note :T0 -

I had slipped into the habit (now at target) of having a non-HEB listed muesli for some breakfasts, telling myself it was muesli so it must be healthy and....:o As of this week, I'm back on Puffed Wheat which is so light you have a really good bowlful for an HEB compared with other cereals. I slice a banana over it or better still some raspberries or strawberries as it doesn't have much taste on its own, a bit like plain popcorn.
That being said I don't really like to 'waste' all my HEB at breakfast on a regular basis so prefer to have other things. I notice mm often has a frittata which you could prepare in advance or even take with you to eat 'on the hoof' if you're pushed for time.0 -
Hello everyone, it's been ages! No reason, just life getting in the way of the internet, dammit. I am ...erm... maintaining. I go down. I go up. I go down. I go up. You might remember I rejoined SW 4 months ago - and I now weigh 4 lbs less than when I joined. See what I mean?:rotfl: It doesn't bother me much. I'm around 10 st every week, and although the SW leader put down my target as 9 st 7 lb I don't think I'll ever be that, I don't even particularly want to be, 10 st is just fine. But I know I have to keep attending class otherwise it will soon be 10.5st again.
Did you get this month's magazine? There were some lovely alcoholic iced lolly recipes in it, most of them were only 1 syn! I made an assortment and then forgot when it was sunny (half of today) that I'd made them.
Anyway it's lovely to see you all again, I will pop in again each night if I remember. Has Dizzy come back? I am not going to read 200 pages to find out, someone tell me! x:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Flat Eric - why don't you do SW oven chips? I did them today & they were very good indeed. My lot now prefer them to shop bought oven chips.0

Hello, nice to 'see' you again. I have had the same problem with target. I got to target end November 2008 (8 st 5 lb) just couldn't stay there and have been yoyoing (is that a word?) for what seems like forever between 8 st 12 lb and 9 st 1 lb. I had been thinking of upping my target but was fixed on the fact that I had lost 3 stone and couldn't face the thought of saying I had lost less than that. I finally came to my senses and highered my target to 8 st 12 lb and I feel so much better. I have come to the conclusion (eventually) that it's how you feel yourself not what the numbers on the scales say. If I were you, as long as you are happy at 10 stone, I would think about getting the consultant to change your target again and save yourself £5 a week.
I was asking about Dizzy a short while ago but no one responded. I really miss her amusing posts and would really like to know how she is getting on. There was a lot of things happening in her life when she posted last I really hope things are better for her now. Apart from that we haven't got a driver for the tank!
