I have thought of doing that but wasn't sure. X
  • Blackberry_Rum - welcome back and good to hear you're still hanging in there.

Confused - Yoyoing is definitely a word in my vocabulary - unfortunately!!!

FE - I also never ate breakfast, believing that the longer I could stay away from food the better it was for me!!! Now I have to have a good breakfast to get me going and keep me from snacking the rest of the day. I've been trying to think of some suggestions for you to take to work, even if you haven't time to eat at home. However I do suggest that rather than leave the house with nothing why don't you have a banana - it will just give you some nourishment and will mean that you're not totally ravenous when you get to work -

Take a bag with measured cereal another bag with chopped fruit and a cup of measured milk - keep a bowl and spoon in work and eat it when you arrive.

Make a frittata (yes Maman I know...) the night before and bag or box it and either eat cold or heat it when you get to work.

Make a vegetable risotto and bag or box a portion and take a couple of hard boiled eggs to chop up with it and eat it hot or cold.

Sliced turkey wraps - I make these with lettuce leaves, sliced turkey (1%), thin slices of tomato and thinly sliced pickled cucumbers.

I hope something like this will work for you and help you get back on track.

    good luck

    :hello:

It's probably too late now as you'll be out enjoying your lunch with your friend mm (am I right you're two hours ahead of us?). We discussed eating out at my group this week. One tip I passed on was to take a little bottle of dressing (HM or low cal) with you in your handbag and ask for a plain salad and then add your own. Others advised saying you have an allergy (e.g.to fat) when ordering meals as restaurants seem to take more notice of this due to Health & Safety.

Congratulations on your nsv with the skirt mm.:T

Unfortunately because of religious dietary laws, you are not allowed to take your own food into restaurants here so that wasn't an option.

Unfortunately I did have the dressing on the salad.

Unfortunately I had ravioli with tomato sauce - it wasn't that the sauce was bad (and I really don't think it was) but I just felt so heavy and lethargic afterwards and really that I'd undone all my good work.

I feel like I just am not ready to be let loose yet! I've been so good for the last 3 weeks but I'm still very "fragile" and I could so easily have done a huge amount of damage yesterday. The only thing that really held me back (and this is going to sound really really mean) is that I was with a friend who is very much bigger than me and she was eating something that she definitely shouldn't have been and I was feeling very virtuous beside her!!! She's about to have gastric bypass which is why I suppose she feels she can and wants to eat whatever she can now!

I came home from lunch and wanted to eat!!! I ended up having my afternoon snack very much earlier than I should have done and then had another one! I also had a bag of raisins and a couple of biscuits - fortunately I made myself stop after that and as a punishment had no supper!

Hopefully back on track today and off now to make breakfast...

b - vegetable risotto "cake", baked beans, fried eggs, mozzarella (HEA)
s - mixed frozen fruits, fresh fruit, FF vanilla yoghurt
    l - chicken salad (4)
s - 2 slices WM bread, light mayo, sliced turkey, tomatoes, pickled cucumbers (HEB) (2)
    d - cottage pie, salad (2)

    Morning all

Well I survived the pub crawl, and t was nowhere near as bad as I feared! Admittedly I stopped drinking at pub 23 as I had had a shot of tequila in the last one and that was pretty much the final straw, but carried on til the end with water and diet coke. Think I did ok synwise as was mainly on vodka and diet coke, with a couple of small glasses of wine, so probably around the syn mark that I had accounted for. Ended up not eating at all when I was out- had a omelette and pitta before I went out at 11.30 and just wasn't hungry the rest of the day- too full of drink. Yesterday I felt pretty ok (OH was worse than me - he had at least a half in every pub then 4 drinks in the last place - at least we can say someone did the whole 26!) and wasn't bad foodwise - had beans on toast with a slice of light cheese for brunch, had a walk around the park with my friend in the afternoon (to walk off our hangovers!) then had a couple of Linda Mc sausages with a pile of mash, another slice of cheese and gravy - oh and a packet of wotsits while i was waiting for it :o Could have been much worse but WI tonight could go either way. Don't feel fatter or thinner really, although have to say I am quite pleased with how I look on the photos compared to a couple of months ago :)

As our leader says we dident put our weight on overeating just one day or at one night out.
Thanks for posting this. It is common sense but sometimes we just need to be reminded of it. I am hoping that is the case this week!

Ive been back from my hols for a week and I'm still not back on the sw wagon.

Can anyone tell me why I continue to eat far too many syns (everyday) and make bad choices when I'm out (and then carry on when I get home)

It is so difficult isn't it? I sometimes think it's what your body gets used to, with one 'bad' thing just leading to another, or the 'I've been bad so may as well carry on' train of thought. As has been said though, a step at a time in the right direction is a start, and will (hopefully) encourage more steps :)

I am struggling a tad this morning, because, as I just wrote there, having a day or so of not counting fully just pulls me off track. Haven't really veered from the righteous road at all since I started this time (apart from post WI treat but since that is planned it doesn't seem to have the same effect) but does make me worry that I'll come off it with a huge crash at some point! Anyway, brought in my usual stuff to work so will have no choice but to eat it. Bit unorganised after busy weekend but here goes:

    EE:
    B: bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
    L: WW Lasagne (5.5), nectarine
T: TBC - possibly depends how WI goes!!
    S: TBC

Will do a bit of shopping tonight so hopefully tomorrow will be better!!

  • Sounds like you had a great time Blodwen but were in control of the situation - well done.

I know what you mean but does make me worry that I'll come off it with a huge crash at some point! - that's exactly how I'm feeling at the moment and thought I was heading that way yesterday. I felt that I wasn't in control of the situation and it really could have gone either way. Fortunately I've been able to rein it in and I'm sticking to plan today but the old me would have definitely been eating everything in site today!

You're doing really well at the moment and reining it in is, in a lot of ways, the hardest part. If the old you would not have done that then it's progress. I think we need to keep seeing the bigger picture and not beat ourselves up over a small blip. Am going to try and keep thinking of what Beanie said about not becoming overweight from one night out!

    Me again,

Does anyone know if there are any join free vouchers for SW around at the moment? The colleague I mentioned last week wants to join (alas, not my class :( ) and I've had a google but come up blank. Thanks! :)
