Oh dear, I've gone off the rails a bit and I've come here to confess my syns
All week I had been good and it was going well until yesterday tea time. I hadn't eaten any syns all day and was saving them for an Indian in the evening. I went a bit over the top though and have eaten the following since...
Friday Tea - Chicken Tikka starter, Aubergine Curry, 1.5 Poppadoms. Quarter of a tub of Ben & Jerrys. Shot of Tropical Sourz. Packet of milky bar buttons. A few pringles (about an inch stack)
Now I should have drawn the line there but then today...
Breakfast - Went to Frankie and Bennys...there was a healthy option on the menu but no I decided to go for the Bacon Pancake Stack. Then I had nothing except an apple the rest of the day trying to make up for it but ended up being starving. Hubby ordered pizza and instead of me eating my SW quiche as planned, I had the quiche plus some potato wedges, half a piece of cheese cake and then a cadburys sponge pudding. I then had another small stack of pringles (as if it makes a difference) and about 10 hairbos and another shot of Sourz.
Now I feel terrible and I've got weigh in on Monday...Why did I do it? At the time I was thinking its ok I can have a treat and I'm not bothered if I lose on Monday but I realise what I ate I now I feel disgusted with myself :embarasse:wall::(
Sorry to moan, I know it's my own fault...I didn't have to eat it all but I just thought if I wrote it all down I could try and get it out my system and draw a line under it. Not sure what came over me, it's been going really well until now. Not looking forward to Monday.Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -
HP, I think your only option is to draw a line under all that food and start again. I do hope you enjoyed it all. Make yourself feel good by sticking 100% to plan tomorrow. The damage may not show up on Monday but sadly it will catch up eventually. Your best bet is to sit down and plan a perfect SW week to get your head back into it. Most of all don't worry it happens to us all.
I've been at target for almost a year and my biggest problem has been not falling below target. Unfortunately this has made me a bit blase about extra syns. I know from my clothes (I don't weigh at home) that i'm still carrying a few xtra pounds from my holiday but that hasn't stopped me eating too much of the wrong thing this evening.:o I've got people coming tomorrow and I know I won't stick to SW but Monday I'll be back to the plan 100%.
Sorry for rambling but I needed to talk/think it through.0 -
Maman, thanks for the reply. I did enjoy it, but afterwards I just feel terrible and really cross with myself. I didn't need to go as over the top as I did, I was like a woman possessed lol. You are right, I need to draw a line under it, I should have done this on Friday but instead I made myself feel guilty which made me eat more rubbish today...I know that doesn't make sense :rotfl:
I've had a few hiccups since starting SW but managed to get back in control quickly and thankfully still get a loss. I guess I am trying to break a habit of a life time and it's not always going to be easy. I suppose 1 major hiccup in 9 weeks isn't too bad. If it's a gain this week I just need to accept it and get on with it.
Well done on being at target for so long. Weekends are definitely harder. When is your WI?Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -
Hi Everyone
Kitty - welcome and good luck
HP - don't beat yourself up - we're all human and remember none of us got here by eating perfectly. This is all about learning to eat the right way but the bad habits of a lifetime are very hard to break so go easy on yourself girl. It's great that you could confess and now it's time to put it behind you and move on.
Maman - I would guess that it's harder to stay at goal than to lose - especially if you're trying to keep within a 3lb limit. However you know your limits so enjoy your weekend with your friends and then get back to what you know works for you.Mediterranean Mum

Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »So it's day 5 and 6 (weekend over here) and I'll be cooking this morning for both days. Here's the plan -
snack was first of banana and FF vanilla yoghurt because kitchen was out of bounds!
b - vegetable frittata with 45g grated mozzarella (HEA); salad with 1T light mayo (2) ended up eating this late morning
l - large salad nicoise with dressing made from 1T light mayo (2)
d - vegetable & lentil soup; grilled boneless chicken thighs, vegetable stew, Israeli salad (HEB) also had some SW roast potatoes that I made for everyone else and had not intended having them myself but at least they were SW
snacks - FF vanilla yoghurt, [STRIKE]frozen berries, watermelon[/STRIKE] grapes
b - Israeli salad, hard-boiled egg, [STRIKE]tuna[/STRIKE], 1T light mayo (2) (HEB)
l - 4 felafel balls, Israeli salad, humous (unweighed and more than I should have had!) grilled chicken strips I made these into a dish made with coconut liquid - recipe below, 4-grain pilaf, [STRIKE]coleslaw (2)[/STRIKE]
d - [STRIKE]vegetable quiche, green salad, potato salad (HEA) (4)[/STRIKE] 3 ryvitas, Israeli salad, humous, hard boiled egg, 2 slices of yellow cheese
snacks - FF vanilla yoghurt, banana, grapes, cherries, [STRIKE]melon[/STRIKE]
Keeping the syns as light as possible in the meal planning so that I have room for extras but more importantly try to make up for yesterday's disaster!
Plan is also to make sure that I drink 2 litres of water on both days.
So with everything that was going on on Friday, I did manage to stick to plan although maybe not exactly as I'd planned. The cooking changed up a bit and I ended up making some different things, especially a chicken dish that I'll give you the recipe for below (if I can remember exactly what I did!).
Didn't manage 2 litres on Friday but did it yesterday and actually drank more because I had a huge glass of herbal tea as well. As you can see I went overboard with the humous on Saturday but I don't think I really had many other syns.Mediterranean Mum

Chicken with Sweet Potato and Coconut Milk
1 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp ground hot paprika
1 tsp ground turmeric
1 tsp ground coriander
1/2kg chicken fillet, sliced thinly
salt and pepper to taste
Frylight
1 onion, chopped
1 tblspn grated fresh ginger
1 red pepper, chopped
2 cloves of garlic minced
1 sweet potato, cubed
2 tomatoes, chopped
1 can light coconut milk
Mix the spices together and coat the chicken well and season with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
Heat and ridged griddle pan till hot and then cook the chicken fillets until browned slightly on the outside. Set aside.
In a large saute pan, sprayed with Frylight, saute the onion, ginger, garlic and red pepper.
Add the sweet potato and tomatoes and then the coconut milk.
Add the chicken, cover with a lid and cook for about 10-15 mins.
Serve over grains with some freshly chopped parsley on top.
I used a very light coconut milk which is only 65 cals per 100ml. The dish serves about 6 or 8 people (tons of leftovers) so I only counted 2 syns but even that is maybe more than it was.Mediterranean Mum

Thanks Med Mum, like you say, if I was able to eat perfectly all the time I wouldn't need to follow SW. Today is a new day, and a new week so I will be 100% on plan.
Well done for your good day yesterday too. That Chicken and Sweet Potato dish sounds lovely, I would like to give that a try at some point.
Also Welcome Kitty! :wave:Slimming World Target Achieved 13/09/12!0 -
Definitely a gain this week for me I think, the amount of vodka I had last night . I did have some food but not too much really, I had a lot of salad stuff. Oh well, I will draw a line under last night and carry on with the plan today.
Have a good day everyone!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -
HI everyone. Just checking in to say that's me all packed and ready for my hols... this week has been a disaster, my head has been in holiday mode and I've been picking at the dreaded chocolate. Last night we were using up what was in the fridge and I made chicken & chips for everyone (proper chips out the deep fat fryer) but as I was waitng for the fat to heat I thought, why am I doing this to myself and put a baked tattie on for me instead.. so I had grilled chicken breast, baked tattie and salad for tea, then found a snickers in the cupboard and scoffed that
Any hoo, i'm going to enjoy my holiday but will need your help and support to get back on the wagon when I get back.
Stay good folks. xxxMortgage Aug 22 £280,000
