I really don't like those cheesecake yogurts. They taste like someone's dropped bits of their cake in them. All soggy. Bleargh! Love the normal muller lights though.

Rainbowfairydust - worry is a terrible thing and I haven't been free of it for the last couple of years. Won't go into details on here but it's just as you describe.

This may sound weird but I am using my SW time and efforts to focus on myself and not on my worries. I also make a point of getting up and doing the whole cleansing, make-up, hair routine before I leave the house because if I look a mess I will feel a mess, and I want to feel in control of this. Like I'm controlling my SW journey. Does that make sense? I don't have much power over the things I'm worrying about but I do have power over how I look and feel and to me that's important.

I can get up in the mornings (unlike you describe) but I can't wait to get to bed and asleep at nights. I read a book about worry and anxiety and in there it recommends visualising yourself floating .... just floating. Everything carries on around you but youjust float. Hope this doesn't sound too bonkers!!:rotfl:

I totally understand what you mean - I am the same. I dont want to leave the house looking messy. I like to know that i look clean & tidy & that i have made an effort with myself.

What was the book that you read please? I would be interested in possibly reading it as well. What was the purpose of the floating? Is it some sort of relaxation technique?

I agree I didn't like 1st week, I did know the consultant but no one else and one of my pet hates is walking into a room of people I don't know never mind sitting and speaking to them. However, there are quite a few really nice people in our group and sometimes I enjoy the chat while everyone is weighing most. My opinion is if I pick up at least one tip that helps its worth staying.

I am feeling more positive than I did on Monday, so thanks for the kind words. Made a bit more effort planning meals the last couple of days, we had Pork chops on Tues and Salmon yesterday both with potatoes and veggies, tonight is a quick meal of batched mince packed with plenty of veggies with rice. As a change from salads yesterday I took a h/m soup and roll and today had toast spread with Kerry Low Low and plenty of beans. I have also gone back to fruit for breakfast some days. Not a fancy change I know but hopefully it will help a bit.

    snap...

i didnt like the first or second week....

the first week...cause i was sitting there thinking..."i dont even need too loose weight"....just after i weighed in at 18.1:D:rotfl:

    and then the 2nd week....because i ONLY lost 3.5lbs...:mad::D

but it grew on me :D
  • three and a half litres of water a day - are you sure???? you need to check that Karen as you can do your kidneys a lot of damage by drinking too much and that sounds like way too much to me - normally it's advisable to drink 2 litres a day to keep hydrated

U can drink as much as you want to on the challenge medmum but speaking to a dietician few years ago anyone around 20 stone mark should be drinking anything from2-4 litres more if in a hot country or exercising obviously not all at once little n often and they advise at least 2 litres ur right x

Good job we're all different - that's exactly what I do like - all the bits!!:rotfl::rotfl:I can't bear most of the ordinary Mullers (can tolerate the Raspberry & Cranberry though) as I find them too sloppy.

Will get back to you later, when I find the book. Can't remember title. Back later.
  • Well end of day 4 and it's been a mixed one today. What I've learnt is that I need to have a bigger meal at breakfast time than just yoghurt and fruit otherwise I'm just starving mid-morning.

We ended up going to a food festival this evening (completely unplanned), only because there was a free concert being given by a famous Israeli singer that my DH wanted to hear. We wandered around all the food stalls and there was nothing that I could safely have except a baked potato with cheese and corn. Unfortunately they overdid the cheese but I guess it was probably the equivalent of 2 HEAs and on EE I'm only allowed one so don't know what the syn value was of an extra one.

Apart from that I'd already had about 8 syns that I counted during the day plus two large glasses of fresh orange juice (no idea how many to count in that) so guess I've probably gone well over today but then the last few days I've had well under so maybe I can even it out over the weekend.

Sorry for rabbiting on, off to shower and bed, tomorrow's another day!

An HEA of cheese counts as 6 syns. Not sure about the orange juice though.

  • Thanks Denise- the long and short of it is that I had way to many syns yesterday and it should probably be counted as a flexiday although I've never understood what that really means - to me it means that I've not followed the program!!!

  • So it's day 5 and 6 (weekend over here) and I'll be cooking this morning for both days. Here's the plan -

b - vegetable frittata with 45g grated mozzarella (HEA); salad with 1T light mayo (2)
l - large salad nicoise with dressing made from 1T light mayo (2)
d - vegetable & lentil soup; grilled boneless chicken thighs, vegetable stew, Israeli salad (HEB)

snacks - FF vanilla yoghurt, frozen berries, watermelon

    b - Israeli salad, hard-boiled egg, tuna, 1T light mayo (2) (HEB)
    l - grilled chicken strips, 4-grain pilaf, coleslaw (2)
d - vegetable quiche, green salad, potato salad (HEA) (4)

snacks - FF vanilla yoghurt, banana, grapes, cherries, melon

Keeping the syns as light as possible in the meal planning so that I have room for extras but more importantly try to make up for yesterday's disaster!

Plan is also to make sure that I drink 2 litres of water on both days.
