    hello everyone

Can I join in? I am doing Slimming World at the moment. I had a baby 12 weeks ago, joined slimming world 5 weeks ago. So far I have lost 12lbs which is great but I need to keep motivated. Some of my friends have started to notice the weight loss already and although this may motivate some people it makes me slack off!!!

I have about another 2stone to lose but would really like to lose the bulk of this before I wean my baby in 12-14 weeks time. While she is still breastfed I get 4 extra HEs a day - it makes sticking to plan a lot easier.

I know it works, I used SW after my first baby - I just need to step away from the biscuit boosts...

Of course you can join in, welcome and congratulations on the birth of your baby girl. You'll get plenty Of encouragement on here x

    Evening all!!

I've come on here for a bit of a moan/support/ideas please.

I weighed in on Monday morning and I had lost 1.75lbs, now I'm the sort of person who weighs in a few times a weeks, and if I'm doing well it spurs me on, and if I'm doing badly it makes me pull my socks up a bit more, but when I weighed in on Weds/Thurs/Today I have put on 2lbs
Normally after Mon weigh in it takes until Fri to show a little loss, maybe 0.5lb, then by Mon it might be 1-2lbs off, but this week is showing a 2 lb gain within a couple of days. I have stuck to the plan just as I have done since the beginning of Feb and have always had a loss (execpt for holiday week). The only thing that has been different this week is that I have had horrendus wisdom tooth pain and my gum has been swollen all around the tooth, I have felt like rubbish and all I have wanted to eat has been biscuits and chocolate or anything rubbishy, but I haven't and I've felt pretty damn proud of myself for not eating those things, especially and it was excruitatingly painful to get my gob around fruit! The only thing I have been having was Nurofen + which was ibuprofen and codine and I wonder if it was the medication or the toothache that has caused the gain.

I'm not going to let it ruin what I've been doing, as I know that this gain can't be due to what I'm eating and hopefully it might come off next week, but it is certianly very disheartning and I was rather miffed this morning.
If anyone has had any experiences of gains due to pain or medicine, or other ideas, please let me know.

Try and keep away from the scales and make sure you're drinking enough fluids.

Hubby weighs in at home on Wed morning and I weigh in at group on a Wed night and it is tempting to way myself when he does but I never do because you weigh a lot less first thing in the morning.

I'm not actually judging anybody, it's just that I don't really understand it. I gained weight in the last year through eating the wrong stuff. I never eat between meals so it wasn't constant snacking or binging which caused my gain but by eating too much of the wrong things at meal times.

I didn't eat sweets, cakes, fried foods etc but I did like creamy yoghurts, cheese, bread, foods with creamy sauces and so on. Because I wasn't well last year I was not able to cycle and walk as much as I did in the past so my weight crept up.

You're right .... we all go to SW to be re-educated, have the discipline of attending regularly and to pick up new ideas, hints & tips.

But what's the point in going and paying money to carry on more or less as you were. We have to make adjustments and changes to our eating habits if we want to lose the pounds and clearly eveybody does or they wouldn't go to SW in the first place.:)

Just been catching up on the postings since I was last here. We went away for the weekend with friends which was a lot of fun but not at all SW friendly.

Pennylane, I understand your question and yes it seems all too obvious but you are very lucky that you have only had a problem with food over the last year. Many of us on here are life-long food addicts and it's just so hard to break the habits of a lifetime.

You have to think of it like cigarette or drug addicts - very few of them can go cold-turkey and they have to be weaned off however unlike those kind of addicts who don't need cigarettes or drugs to live, we need to eat and the problem is learning to eat the right things whilst many of us have been eating the wrong things for many many years, or learning to eat the right quantities.

We have to physically shrink our stomachs (and our eyes!!!) and that's definitely not something that happens overnight for most people.

I wish I had the willpower that you do and various others on here but I am a total food-addict and I find this game so hard to play.

I've spent the last 20 years yo-yo dieting and it's got to the stage that I simply can't lose weight no matter what I do. I get so depressed reading about how people have bad days, bad weekends or bad weeks but still manage to lose even half a pound. I have to be absolutely honest and say that I keep to plan maybe about 60% of the time but that's just not good enough to lose even half a pound over one month.

Keep up your great work and please send me some of your willpower!!!!!

Morning everyone. Successfully completed another day on the chocolate wagon :D I was an angel yesterday, lots of fruit and fluids (not wine :() and according to the wii fit this morning I have lost 1lb since last week so hopefully I will be looking at a STS at WI tomorrow. I have got loads done today so far and have a lovely pot of lentil soup simmering away for lunch so that should fill me up and have also been to Ts and restocked with fruit & mullerlights.

I am going to weigh myself on wii fit again next Sunday morning which is the day before I go on holiday and see if I have hit my 3 1/2st target - fingers crossed!!

Have a lovely Sunday everyone. x

Breakfast - Oatbran, blueberries, strawberries and banana.

Lunch - going out so it will be steak, new potatoes and salad.
    No pudding.

Evening meal - SW quiche which I've just made and is cooling.
It's a grated potato base with bacon, red peppers, mushrooms, red onion, sweetcorn and smells lovely. It is huge so there's enough for our tea tonight and lunch tomorrow with salad.

I am hoping for at least a 1 lb loss this week.
