Morning all - kick my bum will you please?? After falling of the chocolate wagon on Tues I have found it really hard to pull myself out of it .... yes I know some people like my hubby can't understand but I do have a problem with chocolate... since I got the taste for it again on Tuesday after a 5 and a half month ban, it's all I can think about and I ended up having some on wed and yesterday too then feeling awful.

I went out yesterday and stocked up with coconut mullerlights and some fruit but last night the ONLY thing I wanted was a mini creme egg (yes we still have easter eggs in the house because I haven't been hoovering them up like I usually do) and once I had that I had some B&J ice cream.

I know that it's carp and will make my weight loss go in the wrong direction but HELP! :(

I can completely understand you cos I HAVE to have some chocolate or something extremely sweet to keep me on the plan. I usually have a curly wurly, the new rocky road hi fi bars or the peanutty hi fi bar.

I know some people who can't understand the longing but some of them can't go half hour without a cigarette! Instead of trying to do without totally (I don't know how you managed 5.1/2 months!) why not have some each day, using synns - a freddo frog is another good one, can't remember if it's 5 or 6 but not many and you won't feel deprived.

Well done to all the losers and welcome to all the newbies. xx

I agree - obviously we're all different and some people do better completely banning certain foods, but personally I have to have something sweet every night - I look forward to it and it keeps me on track. Maybe try it for a few days and see how you get on? Saying that, I only keep things that I can have (small bars or individually wrapped biscuits) in the house as there has to be a line and anything else would be too tempting - this goes for ice cream for me as well, as since bought some B&J Core 'to try' on Mon it has called to me every night! Some favourites low-syn treats are are:

    Freddo - 5
Animal bar- 5 - v sweet though, more sugar than chocolate
    Rocky/caramel Rocky- 5.5/5
    Kit Kat - 5.5
    Penguin - 5.5 , or Sainsbury's fake one is 6
    Curly Wurly - 6
    Fudge - 6

    Good luck! :)

Everybody who goes to SW is there because they cannot control their weight on their own including you.
I try not to judge any of them as I don't want to be judged myself.
Well done to all the losers :T
I'm not actually judging anybody, it's just that I don't really understand it. I gained weight in the last year through eating the wrong stuff. I never eat between meals so it wasn't constant snacking or binging which caused my gain but by eating too much of the wrong things at meal times.

I didn't eat sweets, cakes, fried foods etc but I did like creamy yoghurts, cheese, bread, foods with creamy sauces and so on. Because I wasn't well last year I was not able to cycle and walk as much as I did in the past so my weight crept up.

You're right .... we all go to SW to be re-educated, have the discipline of attending regularly and to pick up new ideas, hints & tips.

But what's the point in going and paying money to carry on more or less as you were. We have to make adjustments and changes to our eating habits if we want to lose the pounds and clearly eveybody does or they wouldn't go to SW in the first place.:)

Penny, is it just because your "vice" isn't chocolate/junk food as you see it. You over-ate bread, cheese, creamy yogurts even though you know really you shouldn't have been, so maybe if you look at why you did this and then you would understand better..

Thanks all but I'm going to have to go back to breaking the habit and having none as that's the only thing that works for me. Once I have a wee bit I can't stop :(

Been at a funeral this afternoon and the tea was all sausage rolls and cakes but I just had coffee!!!! I have had some SW quiche and fruit for lunch now I'm home and am feeling v virtuous. x

Morning all, red day for me :-)

B: bran flakes and milk (heb and hea)
L: wm pitta (heb) with chicken and lots of salad (teeny bit of mayo - 2syns?)
Snacks: muller light, fruit, 2 ginger bics (4 syns)

Last nights dinner at friends turned out to be lamb risotto - any ideas how many syns this would have been?! At least is was homemade. It had peppers and onion in it plus lamb, rice, stock etc.

ok i'm back in the land of being able to have paragraphs and smilies.. bl00dy work blocking forums

kandfs all we can do is take one day at a time.. i can't have biscuits in the house as I would eat the whole packet :o so if zero temptation works for you then go for it! It'll take a few days to get the craving back out of your system I imagine... good luck x

I agree CH27.. everyone who has joined SW has taken a positive step towards beating their issues and this should be applauded :T oohh did i go a bit American then :rotfl:

I watched a programme the other night - something like " the men who made us fat" all about advertising in the 70's/80's. They had done some experiments with rats and over eating - the conclusion they came to, was that rats/humans have some trigger in them that means in times of prosperity we eat as much as we can to prepare ourselves for leaner times. Unfortunately, most of us never go without so the prosperous times continue and so does our over eating! it was interesting stuff... even if it was just another theory.

    So green day for me

    B - choc weetabix (2) yogurt, apple
    L - spaghetti hoops
T - pork (HEb), sweet potato wedges, BBQ sauce (3) salad
S - crisps (4) satsumas, ryvita (Heb) milk (hea)

Hi, can I join you? I've just joined SW again (I lost 13llbs last year. But then stopped due to personal reasons)but now back in the mindset. I've really been enjoying reading this thread, it's like an extension of image therapy which I think I need to keep me on the straight and narrow :rotfl:

It's a bit of a hard weekend to start as its DH's birthday so we are out for a meal tonight, tomorrow and Sunday lunch

I've been on a long bike ride this morning and will be swimming tomorrow so hopefully that will reduce the damage :o
