Thanks - have some 4Head but don't find it does much except make my skin feel weirdly tingly!
It was me who mentioned the cherry bakewell alpens - haven't seen them in the shops yet but someone brought them into class on Mon. Have given my OH one with his lunch so will get the verdict on them tonight. If they aren't too almondy I might try one as that's what i normally hate about them.
I'm the same with mince- put half Quorn in and as long as OH doesn't see he doesn't noticeOnce he found out and realised it tasted the same he was fine though. Haven't used the dried soya for years as found it a bit spongy but love the frozen asda stuff and it is free
Their meat free meatballs are great too and only 3 syns for the whole bag (does 3-4 meals), mmm making me hungry now...
I have the 4head stuff too, bought it because i was just throwing up as soon as i took tablets. The things i've found really helpful are Kool and Soothe pads, gel pads that stick to your head and cool it instantly.. i've never felt something so nice the first time i tried them :rotfl:
Just put an order in for Tesco and they havent got any cherry bakewell alpensoh well.
Mortgage amount at 31/12/2011 £166,050 now £0 as at Sept 21 - 15yrs 4 months early.0 -
Morning all - I have had the Cherry bakewell alpen light bars from Asda. They're v almondy (sorry whoever it is that dislikes almonds) and quite soft. I wasn't a huge fan so have gone back to the choc orange ones which are my faves.
I fell off the wagon spectacularly last night. Was stuck in traffic on the M6 and moved 1 mile in 1hr 30minsI was ravenous and all that was in the car was a packet of kitkats and some loveheart sweets. I reasoned that if I had 1 kitkaat if wouldn't be too bad but I hadn't banked on the chocolate demon that is in me (and not been fed since Jan!!) rearing up like an insatiable beast. In all I had 4 x 2 finger kit kats and a packet of lovehearts and feel totally ashamed. When I finally got home I was in sugar loaded frenzy mode and ate a bowl of B&J caramel ice cream as well. I was just about greeting (crying) when I text my best mate to confess what I'd done but she told me to forget it and move on and she's right. Although I was weak last night and gave in to the demon iside me, I won't have done enough damage to put back on the 3st 4lb that I've lost.
Sooooo, back to basics. Meal planning, choosing wisely and NO BL00DY chocolate!!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

weigh in number 50 for me (cant fathom that is is almost a year since i walked / waddled thru the doors!!)
STS for me...so thats week 8 at target.
over the next few weeks i would liek to loose 3lbs to get to the lower end of target, but for this week, i was delighted.
Arty, i still keep a food diary, not liek the sheets that come in the starting pack where u write down every bite you eat, but i have a small pocket diary, and in it, every day, i write down how many syns i had, what HEXs i had, and what exercise i did.
try that, when u see it in writing, it helps keeps you on the right road,0 -
hi all!!!
Kandfs - don't worry about it. Just learn and move on.:A
Arty - congrats on getting to target. Hopefully Maman, piglet, Getting there or TIE will be along with some target advice ?
I lost 2.5lbs last night - i was a bit gutted but im a slow loser so just have to do what i can . Annoying as I was 11-2 before hols, now back to 11-4 and next weigh in is star week which i never lose on- but will just be as good as gold and see what happens. Target is 11 bang on.
I have lovely rice today for lunch , its a variation of pilau rice if anyone wants the recipe? Its made with cinnamon stick, cardamons and cumin seeds and onions. nice and tasty, and i have it cold today with LOADS of veg - cooked carrots, raw toms, peppers and onions and onions cooked through it too.

Regards the lean mince debate, my consultant said with mince you can't guarantee you've removed all the fat because the fat is through it, so she said you still count syns, drained or not. I use quorn mince anyway and have found i can't handle real mince now. it makes me feel a bit queasy.
I've started doing pilates again to try and add some tone, have been unable to due to medical problems so it's good to get back into it.
I read about chronic pain corner sometime recently - can i crawl in? I have fibromyalgia. I've recently developed TMJ (severe jaw pain) so thats one of the reasons I couldn't follow SW on holiday. it was just all too much to deal with at once
Anyway, hugs to all. I take it Dizzy never appeared back?A little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Only caught up on the last few pages - well done on your loses Cande, 2012dailydeals, PS71, cyclingyorkie and anyone i've missed..
Sorry to hear about everyone's bad backs though.. and hugs Blowden, migraines are vile.. i find putting something cooling on your head will help with the pain, although it doesn't stop the throwing up!
And who mentioned Cherry Bakewell alpens?? you've just cheered my OH up no end- his favourite treat is a cherry bakewell flapjack - i dread to think of the syns. Now i have to go and hunt for the these alpens instead.. i hope they're as good as they sound, thanks!!
Re: the mince debate.. i always put loads of veg in if i can and also if OH isn't in the kitcheni bulk it out with quorn mince or I think soya mince (in the box) is quite cheap... to be honest you can't tell the difference.
Penny - do you find the frozen mince to be nice? i've always shied away from it as i expect it to be worse quality but then all i do is buy fresh mince and freeze it anyway! :rotfl:
Right i'm home again today so finding it difficult not to want to eat the entire contents of the kitchen.. and as i'm out of my usual work routine i'm not sure what to eati think i'll start with poached eggs on toast and then i can decide from there the rest of the day..
xxx
Well its' labelled "Extra lean mince" and I've used it loads of times (from Tesco and Morrisons and I think also Asda) and it's absolutely fine. It's very handy to keep in anyway because you can do so much with Mince. Have you tried Spicy Thai Bites (SW) they are divine. I also do cottage pie, spg bol. lasagne etc.0 -

Something just dawned on me . The bacon, sweet potato & leek quiche I make is normally made up with ordinary bacon. I only had smoked bacon in the fridge when making it at the weekend, should this be synned? I also made a big pot of HM lentil soup using the smoked stuff.
I hope its not too many if synned:mad::TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
