well i've got WI tonight and I'm dreading it! My body just doesn't feel right any more - my boobs are all swollen and my jeans are tight and I've been really good!

And after a 3.5lb gain last week - I really don't want to put on again!

I hope the scales have been kind to you.

I managed a half on this week which was ok after my binge during the week. Got my head back together now and I'm back on track and motivated :)

To both Pennylane and Blodwen - Thank you for the advice re the mince, maybe I will try going for just the lean mince and see how it goes. I've noticed that Tesco have put up the price of the extra lean from 2 for £6 to 2 for £7, I really do find that I am spending a lot more now I'm doing SW as anything remotely healthy is way more expensive than crisps, chocolate and biscuits :(.

I tend to go to Aldi now as they do a lean mince for a reasonable price and like the others, I just drain off the fat. I also buy fruit and veg there and it doesn't cost the earth to feed a family of 5 then.

Went to WI in tonight and got on to subject of medication such as cod liver oil capsules, primrose oil etc. Was shocked that they have syn values. Consultant was saying that even some multi vitamins may have syns if they are in an oil capsule

    Evening folks.

Vicki - sorry to hear about your injury. Take it easy young lady. Zippy - I hope you're on the mend now.

Well done to all the losers so far this week. And if you haven't lost - stick with it, you know it makes sense.

Rubbish day at work today - lots of arguments, people getting very cross with each other, lots of resentment. Think the staff are worse than the kids sometimes.

But I didn't succumb to chocolate. I was offered some but was able to resist. Yay! So today I had:
Breakfast - 2 weetabix (HEB), skim milk (.5 HEA)' blueberries, banana, strawberries
    Snack - muller light
Lunch - 2tbs plain cous cous, 1 slice ham, salad, 2 tbs l/f dressing (1 syn), apple
Dinner - chicken, noodles, onions, courgette, mushrooms, s/corn, peppers, carrot, cooked with stir fry fry lite, soy sauce, rice wine, garlic, ginger
    Muller light
    Cherries, grapes, mango, apricot

Pennylane - thank you, i am very pleased, but still got a LONG way to go, haven't even thought about a target yet as I am thinking more about how I look and feel rather than numbers on a scale.

Just wanted to add my bit about clothes getting looser, I've lost a little under 2 and a half stone and my clothes are definitely getting looser, I think I am also starting to go down a size (at last!), I thought that after about a stone that I would be buying smaller clothes, but it seems quite a big weight difference for me in between sizes.

Well done to all the losers and good luck for those who are yet to weigh in, and please remember that however small the loss (I've had plenty of small ones), it is still a loss and we will get there eventually if we stick with it.

It's much better for you though than crisps and biscuits!;) You can always bulk mince up with extra chopped veggies and don't forget to look in the freezer section at your supermarket. I used to always go to the fresh meat section but I came across extra lean frozen minced beef and it wasn't expensive either.

    Well I am reasonably pleased - I lost 1lb.

I still feel awfully bloated - which ios strange because it's nearly 2 weeks since * visited - normally all the excess fluid drains away within a couple of days...but not this month!

In 2 years at S/W nobody has ever mentioned that supplements may have syn values... I take 1000mg of starflower oil daily.....

The tension at home has lifted since DD2 finished her exams, so hopefully I can get back on track with everything. I was narked when i got home from group last night - every week I cook and serve the family tea on a tuesday before i go and last night (as usual) everybody had just piled up their dirty plates in the kitchen......

    Off to make a cuppa.....

Well done CY, good result! Pennylane - thanks for the idea about frozen mince- often use frozen soya mince but always thought frozen mince was v fatty so never thought to look for it.

Yesterday was a bit of a write off for me both dietwise and generally. After lunch I started to feel ill and then had to run to the loo to throw up :o Felt a bit better afterwards but had pounding head and started to feel sick again so went home early afternoon. Had a headache since Mon afternoon and put it down to being in front of a computer too long at work, but it carried on into yesterday and still have it now despite painkillers. OH suggested a migraine which I originally rubbished as have never had one before but actually I think he may have it right, had a lot of the symptoms :( Anyway, since I essentially didn't have any lunch I was hungry but a bit nauseous by teatime so had a bit of mashed potato and a pitta bread, then beacuse I felt better later on and it took the pain of the headache away I had some of the ice cream from Mon - feel a bit guilty but shouldn't be too bad dietwise as hardly ate anything else all day. Back in work today although still feel a bit fragile, so small amounts of bland foods are the order of the day:

    Green:
B: 2 x Alpen light (HEB), milk for drinks (HEA)
    L: Mugshot, pitta (HEB)
T: Either pasta or something like egg & beans
    S: See how I feel

  • Since I discovered soya mince is available here I've not had any minced meat. I feel it must be much healthier to have the soya stuff so have been sticking with that.

Only caught up on the last few pages - well done on your loses Cande, 2012dailydeals, PS71, cyclingyorkie and anyone i've missed..

Sorry to hear about everyone's bad backs though.. and hugs Blowden, migraines are vile.. i find putting something cooling on your head will help with the pain, although it doesn't stop the throwing up!

And who mentioned Cherry Bakewell alpens?? you've just cheered my OH up no end :D - his favourite treat is a cherry bakewell flapjack - i dread to think of the syns. Now i have to go and hunt for the these alpens instead.. i hope they're as good as they sound, thanks!!

Re: the mince debate.. i always put loads of veg in if i can and also if OH isn't in the kitchen :D i bulk it out with quorn mince or I think soya mince (in the box) is quite cheap... to be honest you can't tell the difference.

Penny - do you find the frozen mince to be nice? i've always shied away from it as i expect it to be worse quality but then all i do is buy fresh mince and freeze it anyway! :rotfl:

Right i'm home again today so finding it difficult not to want to eat the entire contents of the kitchen.. and as i'm out of my usual work routine i'm not sure what to eat :( i think i'll start with poached eggs on toast and then i can decide from there the rest of the day..

Thanks - have some 4Head but don't find it does much except make my skin feel weirdly tingly!

It was me who mentioned the cherry bakewell alpens - haven't seen them in the shops yet but someone brought them into class on Mon. Have given my OH one with his lunch so will get the verdict on them tonight. If they aren't too almondy I might try one as that's what i normally hate about them.

I'm the same with mince- put half Quorn in and as long as OH doesn't see he doesn't notice ;) Once he found out and realised it tasted the same he was fine though. Haven't used the dried soya for years as found it a bit spongy but love the frozen asda stuff and it is free :) Their meat free meatballs are great too and only 3 syns for the whole bag (does 3-4 meals), mmm making me hungry now...

    Morning All

Well 0.5lb gain for me this week - totally gutted about that. I didn't always have all ny HEA & HEB's or syns so can only think thats what it is. I will use more syns this week & make sure I use my HEA & B each day. This morning after I weighed myself, I done Jillians DVD, think I will just get up 30 minutes earlier in the morning, that way its done & out of the way for the day. My OH has decided at the grand old age of 40 to join a gym, has his induction at YMCA today so that should help if he is exercising as well & trying to eat healthy, he eats my SW meals but still has crisps, choc etc.

Farmer giles now calmed down a good bit, but not went yet today so fingers crossed
I am going to meal plan for the week, all meals HEX's & tick as I eat them & add on any syns. See what next week WI brings, I am away in just over 5 weeks & have bought size 10 Skinny Jeans

Vicki83 - As other said, you can still do SW without exercising, my friend OH was able to exercise due to his size until he was well on his weight loss journey.
blodwen - hope you are feeling better
CY - Well done on your loss, bet you are glad DD's exams are complete, hope she is ok

    Todays EE Plan

B - Half Melon filled with berries, FF nat yoghurt, Alpen light (1/2 HEB)
L - SW Quiche & Salad, melon, strawberries, pineapple (HEA)
D - Quick chicken fried rice, brocolli, cauliflower(If I have time to make it, have FP clinic at 6.50)
S - Peach, Kiwi, banana, toffee muller. alpen light (1/2 HEB)

Hi, and well done to all the losers!
I am getting down from laurels where I appear to have been resting, feeling somewhat complacent about reaching target.
It has been a rollercoaster ride, and thats just the first week.
Day one, felt great, stuck to plan,
Day two, self weighed, had dropped into the nine something range, felt freaked out, thinking I was going to waste away.
Rest of week, ate bread, peanuts and cheese( I know, all wrong) and am now dreading WI tomorrow , the shame of not staying at target for even 1 week! Well I will still be within the 3 pounds either side rule, but I feel wretched.I am so weak.
I obviously have not got the mindset sorted out yet.
Can any other target members give me a wee bit of advice please?
    Arty.
