WI this morning and a loss of 1.75lbs :D, taking my total to 2st 5.75lbs.
My next mini goal is to have lost 3st by the end of August when the kids go away for a few days, as it will be then that I will let myself relax and just eat what I want, then get straight back on it again. I did this for our holiday at the end of may (without the kids) and I gained 6.5lbs in a week , but lost it all again in 2 weeks. So those are the treats that I am going to allow myself for hitting my mini goals.

I have a question for any of you guys that have lost a lot of weight regarding mince, did you use the extra lean, or just the lean. I ask this because the extra lean is sooooo bloomin expensive and I'm sure I read somewhere that someone was using just lean and draining the fat off, but surely its about the actual cut of beef that is used and there must be fat actually in it that you can't drain off, any help gratefully received :o

That is an impressive weight loss. Well done you - you must be thrilled.
Regarding the mince - I try to get the extra lean (but you're right it is expensive) and TBH I often end up with just the "lean". I always dry fry mine and, as you said, I drain off any excess fat if there is any. I justify it to myself because I haven't eaten a crumb of bread, a biscuit, crisps, cake, sweets, sugar .... since I started back at SW over a month ago. ;)

My clothes are feeling really loose but I have lost only half a stone. Feels like much more to me!:)

Just back from WI, 2lb off and my half stone award :j

Snap! Well done to you. I got my first half stone last week. That's the first hurdle over and done with. I was a bit dubious at first whether the EE would work for me, but it clearly is and I'm so pleased.

Are you feeling slimmer HP? Nobody has noticed I have lost a bit of weight yet but I think you need to lose at least a stone before anybody notices.

Busy, busy day here, hence the lateness of my post.
Breakfast - 2 weetabix (HEB), skim milk (.5 HEA), banana, blueberries
    Snack - melon
Lunch - 2 tbs plain couscous, 1 slice chicken, lots of salad, apple, muller light, raspberries, 2 tbs l/f dressing (1 syn)
Snack - muller light Greek coconut yogurt (.5 syn)
Dinner - jacket potato, 1 slice ham, salad, baked beans, 2 laughing cow extra light triangles (.5 HEA) muller light, cherries

Plus - went to a gym with a friend - did about an hour's worth of bikes & treadmill. Only downside is that the gym is a 40 minute drive away. The up side is that we have each other for motivation. :j. Oh, and none of the kids from school can see us. :rotfl:

Well done to you too :T I feel a tiny bit thinner, trousers are a little looser I think. 2 people have commented but they know I am doing SW so I am not sure if they are just humouring me :rotfl:

Morning everyone, WI last night and I lost 1lb, so got my 10% award, :) I'm much happier than last week but can't help wondering if it will continue to be this slow now, but at least its coming off

Feeling rough this morning though as we went for a walk and I slipped on some damp grass, went down with a thud and my back wrecks this morning, :( Not looking forward to sitting at my desk all day.
SW start date 20/02/12 - lost so far 2st 2.5lb

we were prob pretty much the same "build"...i am 5'6"..and was 18.1... and my back would have ached in heels...tho i always thought flats made me look even fatter...more dumpy... so i wore the heels..and suffered for it :o

I had similar stats - I'm 5'11 and started at 19.1. I think flat shoes probably do make me look fatter even though I apparently also 'carry it well'. I have had a bad back since I was 18 anyway so hopefully wearing heels when I'm slimmer won't aggravate it.

I can rarely find EL mince in our Asda so usually just get the lean. I think the actual difference in fat content is minimal isn't it? I always drain the fat off anyway (or use my mum's method of cooking it in a saucepan in some water rather than frying- sounds rank but 'washes' the grease off and is easier to pour away). Since starting SW I tend to use it half and half with Quorn mince in things like lasagne, chilli etc so don't tend to worry if it's 'only' lean.

Got a bit of a surprise at WI last night - had been good but didn't feel like I'd lost so was expecting a 1lb loss at the most, but ended up with 2.5 off and got my 2st and SOTM :D:D:D Into the next stone down as well (by half a pound!) so made up with that. Got the SOTW basket to take home as the real winner hadn't stayed, and there were some fab things in, including cherry bakewell Alpen lights. Haven't seen these before and they look really nice so it's shame I can't stand cherry bakewells, but OH will have them. Speaking of whom, he has done something to his back so has been oohing and ahhing for a day or so. I sympathise, I really do- he's in a lot of pain and as I said above I've had back problems for years so know what it's like but he won't sit down and rest and equally won't stop moaning! I mean, I'm trying my best but what am I meant to do?! I did buy some ice cream last night, mainly to cheer him up (not the best when he's trying to lose weight too but it did work ;)) and partly as a post WI treat for me; maybe I should buy more of that and just feed it to him?! :rotfl:

    Anyway, enough rambling! Green today:
B: Bran flakes (HEB), milk (HEA), banana
L: Ainsley Sundried tomato and garlic couscous (3.5 - didn't know it was that high until just looked it up now :(), salad, dressing (0.5)
T: Quorn stir fry and noodles
S: WW yog, 2x Alpen light (HEB), Kit Kat (5.5)

    :)

ETA - Just seen your post PS71 - well done on your club 10 and hope yor back feels better soon - must be the week for it :(

Grrr, 1lb ON for me today :( Nevermind - next week is my last weigh in before hols and I would love 3lb off to get my 3 1/2 st award so I'm gonna have nose to grindstone all week to try to achieve it.

Macpep you have my sympathy, I suffer terribly from piles and fissures. Rectogesic from doctor helps as it relaxes sphincter and allows more bloodflow to affected parts which should help healing. Sorry if TMI folks.

Sorry about the gain :(. I am on drinks atm for chronic constipation, which helps, I forgot to take them Fri & Sat which makes going extremely hard (literally :rotfl:) I am still in a lot of pain today, can't concentrate on anything

So todays menu is the pretty much the same as yesterday although I am taking lunch 11-12 so I can see DS graduate from nursery today so lunch will need to be scoffed when I get back

    EE today
B - Berries, Melon, Strawberries with FF NAt Yoghurt , Alpen Light (1/2 HEB)
L - SW Quiche, salad, melon berries (HEA)
D - Gammon Steak, pineapple, cabbage, potatoes
S - Toffee muller, banana, other alpen light (HEB)

I never actually ate any snacks yesterday, just a peach & never had my other 1/2 HEB

just like you all predicted i have pushed it too far....i have pulled my hamstring i have never felt so much pain in my life  the most bizarre thing is i had nearly 2 weeks away from good old friend Jillian and the cross trainer started again last Monday and did 3 days BFBM but then i didn't have time to do anything cos of work (and i got the 50 shades of grey books!) and I had the pleasure of being a torch ambassador on sunday when the olympic flame passed through leeds (the tshirts only came in XL and my friend thought it was hilarious that it buried me!)
Then yesterday I had another one of my turns in the local shopping centre came home and was sick quite a bit then as i got up off the sofa to go to bed it felt like someone had stabbed me in the leg and was twisting it with a knife no matter what position i got myself in it hurt like no pain i have ever felt before (neighbours must wonder what i'm doing because I keep shouting out in pain). I am absolutely devasted I am doing the race for life in 3 weeks time and at the moment i cannot stand for a second without feeling like my leg is being ripped from my body feeling very sorry for myself so off to dope up on the pain killers and hope i can get some sleep but I think its safe to say now despite all the warnings from my body and you lovely people on here I have pushed it too far and now am officially out of the weight loss game for the forseeable future :(
Thank you so much for all the advice and support....wish i had listened I will be lurking around until I can get back in the game but wish you all the best with your journey....if your body says stop please stop!!! :)
