Thank you - my mum keeps saying there will be a point at which it will be noticeable and I know you are both right, just getting a bit impatient waiting for that point! How much more are you looking to lose? It will be nice to be able to shop in normal shops and just go to Evans for shoes (because unfortunately no amount of weight loss will make my massive feet smaller!:rotfl:)
you would be surprised....i have lost a shoe size
as well as not having a stitch of clothes that fits me...all my shoes are falling off too!!!0 -
Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »What size feet have you got Blodwen? I'm a size 8 but sometimes a 9 depending on the fit. However I know that once upon a time I was a 7 and I think they've increased in size with the rest of me!
Unfortunately over here they think that women don't have feet bigger than a 41 (size 7 I think) and it's almost impossible to find anything bigger - I can only buy shoes when I come back to the UK!
I'm usually a size 9 but it varies- 10 in trainers and 8 in some Evans shoes. Have to say Evans is a godsend as although many other places now do up to a 9 or 10 now they just aren't proportionally bigger so don't fit, and my feet aren't particularly wide. I occasionally get some in Asda but the sizes vary so much. I sympathise with you MM- not being able to get shoes big enough isn't fun
I know when I got down to dress size 8-10 a few years ago that my shoes did fit a little better but I was still at least an 8. The main difference was that I could wear heels without being crippled within 10 mins - have [STRIKE]loads of[/STRIKE] somelovely shoes that I can't wear so how I long for that day...

Surprisingly enough Blodwen I've always been able to find shoes in Matalan (and they're even comfortable).
As far as being crippled - I think this comes down to how much weight we are carrying inside these heels ;-)Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -

Will have to try Matalan, haven't looked there, thanks
Totally agree re. weight - not sure when I'll be able to comfortably wear heels but will be wearing some to SIL's wedding in a month's time (flats will be taken to change into!). Luckily I don't really need them and don't like them too high anyway (I'm 5'11) but as I say i have some lovely shoes so just need to be light enough to wear them!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Want to share a wonderful discovery with all you girls!
Lurking in my cupboard I found a bag of Mornflakes Oatbran which I bought last year and which were recommended in the Dukhan diet book - which I never even started!!:D:D
I checked them out syn-wise and they are 4.5 syns per 25g but they seem to be OK to use instead of my usual cereal as my HEb.
Hubby and I tried some this morning with skimmed milk and a bit of sweetner and they were delicious. Really makes a big bowlful and the texture is lovely - vastly superior to Readybrek and even Porridge oats I think. You just bring to boil and then simmer and stir for 3 mins. We had chopped banana and blueberries alongside it. You can also make them with just water if you prefer.
Then I looked up and you can also make a kind of pancake with them - which I will try tomorrow for brekkie. Add oat bran, 1 egg and some Quark or very low fat yog or fromage frais, whisk up and fry in frylite. You can add almond or vanilla essence, honey, fruit, savoury stuff. Sound lovely anyway. Will let you all know tomorrow.
I'm sure there are other makes but mine are Mornflakes and I bought them in Morrisons. They were not expensive anyway. Oh, and they are excellent for lowering cholesterol apparently.0 -

I love my heels even at 5'7" and 19 stone!!!! The last pair I bought in Matalan when I was in the UK in February and I wear them all weekend and have danced and danced in them!!! I spend all week in flip flop crocs but I'm a heel girl at heart.
Is it any wonder I have back problems!!!!!!!!!!!!Mediterranean Mum

we were prob pretty much the same "build"...i am 5'6"..and was 18.1... and my back would have ached in heels...tho i always thought flats made me look even fatter...more dumpy... so i wore the heels..and suffered for it0 -
Most people really wouldn't believe that I weigh as much as I do because I really do carry it well but it's no excuse!
The only time I really suffered was last year when my son got married - the heels I bought were fabulous but OMG did they kill. Fortunately I took flats with me to dance in.
My OH is over 6' so I like walking tall beside him but still being smaller!Mediterranean Mum
