hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Sneaking in the back door to join everyone on here. Stumbled across this thread and have read up to page 6 so far, and I am so inspired to lose weight now.
I have joined every class going and never seem to lose very much...pound on, pound off, pound on. However have decided that this is the last time I am going to be this weight.
I was 20 stone when I got pregnant with my son, dropped to 17 the day I had him (very sick all through pregnancy and couldn't keep anything down), and thought this is it, I will finally lose the weight...wrong...it crept up and up without me noticing.
Joined SW on the 1st of June and was gobsmacked to see I was 21 stone 4.5 pounds. Tried to follow plan the first week and lost a massive 7lbs.I was so pleased, and then last week I only lost a half a pound (although it was the week I had my period). This has disheartened me a bit and I have to admit I haven't really followed any plan this week, including going out for a lovely carvery meal today.
I am determined now, after reading some of your threads. My son is not going to have a fat mummy who can't play with him.
If I only lose one pound a week it is still nearly 4 stone a year. I don't want to be super skinny, but would love to go into a shop and lift clothes off the rail that I like, instead of looking at the sizes first and then pretending I like it just because it is the only thing that fits me.
I will try and post each days food intake on here, and then hopefully you super people can point out where I could make changes to help me along. My weigh in is on Thursday nights so hopefully I have enough time this week to make a difference this week.
Off to try and read some more pages now...;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Found this amongst my emails and thought I would share for those of you who haven't seen it...
Hello!
Do you know me?
If you don't, you should.
I am ONE POUND OF FAT, and I am the happiest pound of FAT that you would ever want to meet!
Want to know why?
It's because no one ever wants to lose me!
After all, I am only ONE POUND OF FAT.
Just ONE POUND.
Everyone wants to lose 3 or 5 or 15 pounds, but never ONLY one.
So, I just stick around and happily keep you.
Then I am free to add to myself, ever so slyly, so that you never seem to notice...
That is, until I have grown to 10, 20 or even 30 pounds in weight... YES...
it is fun being ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT...
left to do just as I please.
So, when you weigh in, go ahead...
just keep on saying, "Oh I only lost one pound." (As if that is so terrible.)
For you see, if you do this, you will encourage others to hang around me because they will think that I am not worth losing.
And I LOVE being around you...
your arms, your legs, your chin, your hips, and every other part of you. HAPPY DAYS!
After all, I am ONLY ONE POUND OF FAT!!!;)I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY;)0 -
Hi Caroline and welcome to our lovely "family".
I can identify with your story so well but now's the time to stop thinking in terms of the bigger weight loss (don't do as I do, do as I say!) and take it one baby step at a time. A small loss after a big loss is perfectly normal. You just have to keep going and don't get disheartened.
I don't go to group and I've stopped weighing every week because I just found I was getting so despondent. I now weigh once a month and my monthly weightloss is my mini goals.
Good luck on your journey and looking forward to chatting more soon.Mediterranean Mum

Not in any pain this morning and didn't take any meds for it last night. I did have a better night's sleep though (air con on low all night) so maybe that had something to do with it. Walked for 35 mins this morning and did double the route that took me 30 mins yesterday when I was practically on my knees.
