(im 5ft 7,and 10st10),and it looks like im still a 14....Ggrr,...i was hoping only to need to lose another couple of pounds to get to target, but since my target is a size 12,rather than an actual weight,it looks like i might have to lose a bit more yet.
Artytarty's right, it so depends on where you get your Size 12 from. A friend and I started SW together and our aim was to go for a Size 12 in a good quality shop or Size 14 in a cheap one!! It doesn't always follow but generally the cheaper brands skimp on fabric. Don't be disheartened, keep going until you feel right!0 -
I had alcohol free pimms at a jubilee party & thought it was nice if slightly sweet.
I think New Look are small.
I bought a cardi recently and had to buy a 14 though everywhere else I buy a size12 top.

We got told this the other night - apparently they make them with sugar now instead of sweetner. One lady at class had been eating a whole big tub every day thinking they were free  and then put on weight.. She was having the peach or vanilla one i think..
Well done on your loss Evilsquid..:T
Bit of an odd day for me as I haven't planned - so calling it red
Brunch - 2 sausages (1), 1.5 low carb bread oopsie thingies, onion
Lunch - none, see above
Tea - jacket potato cut into wedges(Heb), pickles, M&S plaice (5.5)
Snacks - satsuma, pitta bread crisps(6.5), 2 ryvita crunch (Heb), milk in tea (hea)
5 syns for that BIG tub is not bad though. I would eat about a quarter of that tub in one go so that would be just over 1 syn.0 -
I am just going to serve up a SW Lancashire Hot Pot - we all love this and I've been doing it for several years , since I last did SW.
Yum!!:j0 -
I need help!
Been a bit off plan since WI on Thursday night.
Meals have been good but had a few packets of crisps and a couple of bars of chocolate. Crisps is my downfall. I have a large bag of cheesy puffs in the cupboard that I plan on demolishing tonight.
I'm noticing a pattern and probably an explanation for my small piddly losses.
Thursday is WI. So I may lose 1 or 2lbs. I tend to have a takeaway after WI as a treat!Followed by a bar of chocolate
Friday I tend to skip breakfast, I follow SW until evening and have a large bag of crisps and a bar of chocolate
Saturday can be similar to Friday
Sunday, again no breakfast or lunch because I have a roast dinner aroun 3pm, I'm good and make SW roast potatoes but have Aunt Bessie stuffing balls and gravy! I skip pudding and have a chocolate bar in the evening.
Mon - Thurs I'm 100% on plan
But I think that my loss on a Thursday night is gone after I have my takeaway, I probably put on 1 or 2lbs over the weekend. So Mon- Thurs I'm battling to lose that and some more to get a loss that week.
I need to sort this out and stop thinking I can eat unhealthily at the weekend but be good 3 and half days out of the week! My consultant did say you can have 1 day blow out but I'm having 3........having said that I'm not pigging out, I don't drink alcohol either. I'm just not sticking to plan like I should be, an example of not having breakfast and lunch on a Saturday and Sunday.0 -
A question regarding the Muller/Onken yoghurts please.:)
DH is asking how come Mullerlight yogs (100g) are mostly free when they also have sugar in them? We just had banana and custard one and it says 55 calories in the pot 8.6 carbs of which 7.7 is sugars.
Onken (Fat Free Vanilla) is 74 calories per 100g
12.6 carbs of which 12.1 is sugar.
Not much difference and the Onken do have a lovely consistency.0 -
Hi,
That sounds nice, I don't suppose you could let me have the recipe please?
Thanks
Jim
It is delicious Jim. :j Lamb was on offer in Morrisons this week. Here we go! Maybe somebody clever can tell us how many syns on EE. I think you'd only have to syn the gravy granules
Lancashire Hotpot: serves 4 - 2hrs 40mins 7 syns per serving on Original 17 syns on Green
ingredients:
2lb/908g diced lamb
4 x 8oz potatoes (big baking potatoes)
2 onions (red or white)
2 carrots
Fry light
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
2 tsp thyme
1 bay leaf
1 pint/568ml beef stock (bovril)
1 level tbsp gravy granules
1) preheat oven to 180 C/350 F/Gas 4. remove all visible fat from lamb. Leave skin on potatoes and cut into slices and peel and thinly slice the onions and carrots.
2) spray a casserole dish with frylight and line with a layer of potatoes. Season well and sprinkle over 1tsp of thyme. Layer the meat, onions and carrots on top of the potatoes, season again, sprinkle over the remaining thyme and add bayleaf. Top with another layer of potatoes making sure these overlap.
3) mix stock with the gravy granules and pour into the casserole dish (it shouldn't cover the top layer of potatoes). Spray the top of the potatoes with Frylight, cover and bake in the oven for 2 hours, then uncover and cook for another 30-35mins to crisp up the potatoes. Serve with steamed veg - green beans or broccoli are really nice with this.
It gives 4 generous portions and it freezes well so you could do 2 smaller ones and freeze one.0 -
Evening everyone.
I haven't actually posted anything for a while, but I have been reading through your posts, trying to catch up from where i last was reading it, about page 20 i think.
Been plodding away ok, will have a look at my sig in a mo and see how much I had lost before I stopped updating my sig.
When I started, which was beginning of Feb I had a mini target of losing 2 stone before our holiday (28th May), I actually managed 2St 2lbs, so was dead pleased with myself, our holiday was a week away in a caravan without the children as it is mine and OH's 30th's this year, so it was our birthday treat. Due to this fact I was not intending on following SW at all, and I didn't, I don't think I had a single peice of fruit all week, although I did have some veg (mushrooms in the fry ups:D).
I was fully expecting a 7lbs gain and when we came back I got straight back on the wagon and weighed myself and I had put on 6.5lbs - totally expected, but what i didn't expect was that the week after I lost 5 of those 6.5lbs:T.
This is the second week back after holiday and although I don't weigh in until Monday, the scales are showing 1.5lbs off, which means I will be back to my pre holiday weight :j, now why can't I lose that amount every 2 weeks!!
I will try harder to contribute more to this board, I have even been reading through the last thread (heading for winter) as that was the one we were on when I started and I have just been reading about when Dizzy got her 'magic ear', I don't know if she still comes on here, but if she does then I would like to say how much of an inspiration she is and how her posts are always so uplifting.
So many lovely stories and motivating words that I've been reading, it really makes me glad that I found this thread and all you lovely peeps!!
Hope to make more friends on here soon, now off to update my sig.
Just checked my sig and I had lost 1st 5.5lbs when I last updated, that gave me a little boostSW Journey Re Re-started 25/02/14
Lost - 5lbs0 -
The naturalMM, I'm so sorry you are feeling like that. Your long term goal is 100% do-able. Try to get into a mindset that if you look/feel better after losing a single stone then how much better you'll be after 2st, 3st etc. I hope you're eating well today as your shopping basket sounded SW perfect. Incidentally, while I know it would have speeded things up I didn't really exercise doing SW so if you have to ease up because of the weather you should be fine. I'm not saying that exercise isn't beneficial for all sorts of reasons just that it's posssible to lose by healthy eating alone. What about a stroll in the early morning/evening? I find that can help enormously by having time to think.:A
I walk at 6am and some mornings are definitely better than others. This morning I felt like a little old woman (some would say I am!) and it took me 30 mins to walk half of what I would normally do in that time. I know I have to pace myself and that I can lose without doing exercise but for the diabetes I really should be moving more.Just my thoughts and as you know I don't follow my own advice!!!!
I'm noticing a pattern and probably an explanation for my small piddly losses.
Thursday is WI. So I may lose 1 or 2lbs. I tend to have a takeaway after WI as a treat!Followed by a bar of chocolate
make a decision to have one or the other - and my choice would be the takeaway but don't follow it up with chocolate!
Friday I tend to skip breakfast, I follow SW until evening and have a large bag of crisps and a bar of chocolateYou must have breakfast, even if it's a late one but if you are following SW you should have breakfast and again if you must have the treats in the evening have one or the other not both
Saturday can be similar to Friday as above
Sunday, again no breakfast or lunch because I have a roast dinner aroun 3pm, I'm good and make SW roast potatoes but have Aunt Bessie stuffing balls and gravy! I skip pudding and have a chocolate bar in the evening. there's nothing written that dinner has to be at a certain time or lunch for that matter - I suggest you have a couple of light snacks in the morning so that you don't go into your 3pm dinner being absolutely starving - then have another small snack/meal about 5pm or 6pm and hopefully you won't feel the need for the chocolate in the evening - how about trying a diet chocolate pudding (if you can get such a thing) instead of the heavy synned bar
Mon - Thurs I'm 100% on plan
But I think that my loss on a Thursday night is gone after I have my takeaway, I probably put on 1 or 2lbs over the weekend. So Mon- Thurs I'm battling to lose that and some more to get a loss that week. Believe me for all my advice I know exactly where you're coming from but try and just make a couple of small changes and see if it helpsMediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0
