Morning all,Oh piglet, I do miss bread,: Mr T Tiger loaf, olive oil and balsamic dip , chilli oil, tapenade on rustic bread, I dont miss the sliced pan so much!
Mmmm! Must admit I have been having a crusty roll (Lidl now do fresh bread- the cheese topped rolls are fab, crisp and not greasy like some) as my post-WI treat and they look and smell fab, but tbh they never taste as good as they look any more, although the thought of one still makes me drool! Could I be going off bread?! Part of the reason is probably because...i really feel bloated after that extra bread,
if i feel like this eating some extra wholemeal bread.....what would i feel like if i went back onto baguettes, crusty rolls, baps etc.. i think it would kill me
...same here - partly bloated but also lethargic and a bit mucousy (sorry if tmi) like I need to cough - am sure it's the gluten although bread seems to be much worse than pasta etc. Need to keep thinking "it doesn't taste as good as I think it's going to"!
Well done to Lalamb, Shalamoo, Schumie, Becks on your losses.
Forgot to get today's lunch organised last night so not the greatest menu plan ever but it'll do- need to do some shopping over the weekend anyway so will plan out some meals for the week over the weekend.
So today will be green:
B: Bran flakes (HEB), milk (HEA), banana
L: Cheese mugshot (3), strawberries
T: TBC- thinking poached eggs, chips and beans
S: Curly Wurly (6), yogurt
Have a great Friday and weekend everyone!2011: [STRIKE]Houses[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]weddings[/STRIKE], [STRIKE]cats[/STRIKE]

Thanks M Mum - I definitely won't be straying because I am determined to lose at least a stone. As long as I lose even tiny amounts it's better than gaining. Mind you, I don't see how I could gain because I am doing exactly what I'm supposed to.
The chicken lasagne last night was gorgeous - and there's enough for us both for lunch with more salad.
My consultant suggested I might alternate my breakfasts a bit - but I just really enjoy my 35g cereal, skimmed milk and fruit. I either have chopped banana, grapes or, as today, Blueberries. I have had that every day since I went back on SW. We are early risers and I just don't have time or even fancy bacon, egg etc.
Hope you stay on track M Mum.:)0 -
I miss bread but there is no doubt it makes me very bloated.
HP-Sauce~I love Dominno's garlic pizza bread
How long have you been off bread Beanielou? Hubby and I started SW 3 weeks ago and we have not had any at all. We both feel less "burpy" and far less bloated. I keep telling hubby that he can have a slice of bread when he fancies one but will have to syn it and he says he's got used to not having it now.
When you think about how bread swells up when it gets wet (like feeding ducks and birds) it can't be doing your insides much good can it?0 -

I realise how I've totally abused my body - not even over the last almost 50 years but over the last 3 months in general. When I started SW I was on plan and doing well albeit extremely slowly. My blood results were amazing and for the first time in a long time my sugar level (I'm type II diabetic) was at a "normal" level.
Then I did what I've done so many times in the past - I put the brakes on and thought I don't need to do any more. How effing stupid. I mean I have in excess of 7 stone to lose but for some inane reason I can't seem to get past a one stone lost. As soon as people start noticing and start commenting it's like an excuse to stop and do nothing further. I wish I knew why and how I could get over the hurdle.
Right now I'm totally sluggish, my legs ache, my ankles are swelling terribly and I feel a general lethargy all of the time.
This week I've walked four times which is great and I really hope I can keep going next week but it's really really hot here now and the humidity is already high and it's only June!
I went shopping this morning and bought a load of vegetables, some fruit (I'm trying not to overdo the fruit) and lots of passata, tomato puree and chopped tomatoes to make tomato ragu. I have chicken and fish in the freezer and also vegetarian mince mix. I have eggs, tuna (in water), pasta, rice and potatoes. In theory I have everything I need to do it right. I just need to put it all into practice.
I have a plan for today and usually I'm fine on a Friday - I just need to be able to follow through next week.
I'm sorry to bore you all with this but I had to get it down on paper and try and convince myself what damage I'm doing. I know I'm a walking time bomb and if I don't do something now I'm going to be in a really bad place before too long. My goal was to lose 100lb before my 50th (February 2014) but at this rate I'll be lucky if I'm still alive then.
dont be so hard on yourself MM,
it might help if you didnt set such a long term goal,
this time last year, i hadnt even started SW, at my first weigh in i was 18.1:eek::mad:
so in reality i had the guts of 7 stone to loose.... but i didnt admit that to myself, for fear of scaring the wits out of myself:eek:
i set myself a target on the first night saying "in 7 weeks i am going on holiday, and i would like to have a stone off in that 7 weeks....and that will do me then"..(of course i knew in my heart deep down that would not to, but i was only for setting small goals at this stage)
in the 7 weeks, i lost 1 stone 5lbs, i come back from my holidays with another 5 off, so that was 1.10.:j
so i said, "i will get my 2 stone award and then that will do me",
and then i just kept going and going,
sticker at a time. and it was not until i got to 4 stone, that i set a target, before that, i really didnt think i could do it, but as soon as i got to 4 stone, i knew in my heart "i CAN do this",
before that i was saying "i dont care what weight i am i would be happy in a size 14" i could not even set a goal that included weight.
i know it does sound like a lot, 6 stone 2 lost in 11 months, but really, its not. it was 86lbs, in 47 weeks, it did not even average out at 2lbs per week (1.8lbs):D
try an ease off on yourself, dont set a goal thats too far off and seems to far out of reach,
i did think "i have GOT to do something about this before i am 40" (38 this year) but that was the height of it,
dont beat yourself up, thats when you turn to food for comfort, set a short term goal, when people say how great you look, tell them how determine you are to keep going, how you want to make this your new way of live,
hang on in there :A0 -

i have not touched white bread since i started SW, and i could have LIVED on bread,
crusty, baguettes, rolls, batch loaf. OMG...i was a terror:o:eek:
i dont miss it one bit anymore. the first week was torture, but after that....i stopped missing how rubbish i felt after bread,
like that, i have dogs, and sometimes put the crusts, heels, burnt toast etc into their dish, and when you add their dog meal and water... wow...how it swells up....almost turns back to dough.....i do think thats exactly what happens inside you when u eat it!
white bread is so bad for you,
for my HEX i tend to have the 2 cereal bars, maybe only having wholemeal bread once a week, its funny how you can go off things so easy;)0 -

i just missed it the first week....after that...i stopped feeling so rubbish and bloated and all that goes with overeatng bread...:o:mad:
now i never think if it:D
and it was a MASSIVE part of my diet, i dont know if thats an Irish thing, but we seem to have bread with everything, dipped in stew
even on a fry, soda bread, potato bread, pancakes, fried bread:eek:
and then a slice of loaf bread to make a bacon or sausage sandwich at the end...
and then wonder....why am i fat!:D:rotfl::o0 -
1lb on for me this week, not a surprise though! The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0
