Some great losses today - well done CH27, kandfs, 2012dailydeals and anyone i've missed:j

Hi Scrappie.. a lot of info is online if you google it. I actually find it quicker to google for syns as the SW website is so darn annoying and slow to navigate! Minimins is a great site for info and will usually have the answer to what you are looking for. Heb and Hea have changed slightly last year, i think i'm right in saying they've just rounded them up to the nearest 10g i.e. 28g has now become 30g, but i'm sure someone more knowledgable will be along soon.

I've really struggled today, not sure whether i've just been tired and bored at work and this has made me want to snack

    Anyway red day
    B - weetabix (2) apple, milk (hea)
    L - beef sandwich (Heb) pretzels (4.5)
T - HM lamb kebabs, pitta (Heb), salad, mint yogurt
S - satsumas, strawberries, crisps (4):o bit of choc (5) milk in tea, lots of diet coke

    Will do better tomorrow hopefully...

    Hi CH27

If I could get to a group that would probably be preferable, but with work as it is, I would not be able to attend any of the groups in my area for more than 2weeks in a row. Have just gone thro my shift rota up untill end of Aug.

Also, the last group I was at - the majority of the people there saw it as a bit of a 'social'. No goal, no plan 'oh I had a lovely wekend, meal out, drinks, cake - not sure why I put 4lb on'!!!!! It really used to drive me round the twist.

Started thinking about this today as I got on the scales for the first time in ages - I knwe what was coming, but it seems so harsh when you see it in black & white.

Thanks for the web info shala_moo - never would have thought of that!! Would have automatically gone to SW site.

    Time for action.

Hi Scrappie and to any other newcomers I've missed :hello:

Had my WI tonight and lost 1lb. I'm really pleased but I didn't actually deserve it with what I ate over the weekend. I really want 2lb off this week so I get my half stone, I've set it as a mini target with my consultant so I am more likely to make a bit more effort this week! The freezer is full of healthy yummy-ness so no excuses!

Hi everyone, not been posted for a couple of weeks, mainly because I was miserable before my holiday, I had gained 1/2 lb and was dreading the week away, but WI tonight and I've lost 2 & 1/2lb over the two weeks. Really pleased with myself especially as I know I had more syns than normal on a couple of days.

Need to lose at least 1lb this week to get my 10% :)
Its silly but the mini targets keep me going.

Do the consultants set the targets or do we just do it ourselves? I've been going since March but its not been mentioned yet.
SW start date 20/02/12 - lost so far 2st 2.5lb

Scrappie, could you give your consultant a call and ask what they do for people who work shifts - i'm vaguely recall them being able to work around the weeks you wouldn't be there. It may just be what our consultant did on her own though...

I did look into shift worker 'rules' but because my rota is so mixed up at the moment, meaning I could only attend for two weeks in a row, they say that it really would not work for me. You basically have to register with a 'main' group and then attend another group during the week if you cant get to your registered group. This could mean me travelling across the city for a WI.

I know what you mean - the last group I went to was like that and went on for far too long. My current group is better and last week was really good because we didn't go round every single person.

We had a taster evening and time ran away a bit so our Consultant just asked for anybody who really wanted to share their success, give some encouragement or ask a question to speak up. I guess about 8 or 9 people did but it was definitely all worth hearing and really good stuff. :)

Well done on the holiday loss :T; You set your own target when you are ready - we have some people in our class who haven't set a precise target and have been going for well over a year. I have been going since Jan and know in my head where I would like to be (another 3st 5lb off) but I haven't been that weight since I was at school and I'm not sure if I would loook right at that weight so I'm just gonna keep it to myself (and you guys) for another few months until I'm getting closer to my "target" before I speak to the consultant about it

  • Welcome Scrappie - I joined online at the beginning and to be honest found it a waste of money. I won't say a total waste because it taught me the basics and got me started but as you've already done it before you know that information so I don't think that you need to spend that money.

Personally I feel that I need a group but I can't get to one so I have to do it alone which at the moment isn't going well but I wouldn't do online as a way of getting back into it - this forum gives me soooo much more than the website does.

    good luck

hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j
