    Hi all,

Just having a quick catch up. Had a lovely weekend at my friend's - planned bbq had to be cancelled as weather was horrendous but they had pre-empted it so we had an indoor party instead. I had a fair bit of wine but had saved syns all week, and I was good foodwise (surprised myself by not having any of the 3 delicious looking cakes and it didn't bother me too much, although that could have been the wine making me forget :rotfl:). Yesterday wasn't 100% on plan as we stayed over and all went out for the day, but I was pretty good so am still hoping for a loss tonight (possibly in vain). A STS I could cope with, anything else might make me cry!

Interesting to read the replies to Missimaxo's post about her husband and diabetes. My OH was diagnosed with type II a few months ago but wouldn't go on Metformin, telling the doctor he'd rather try diet to control it first. He's been kind of doing SW with me (same meals but extra snacks etc), due to go back soon so will be interested to see if there is any difference because I have wondered if the starchy carbs and fruit sugars on SW might actually increase blood glucose. His problem is more the cereal bars, biscuits and beer but I have given up preaching on that one! He has lost some weight - not sure how much as he reluctant to get weighed except when made to at the GPs but still needs to lose about 3-4 stone - so will be good to see the results next time he faces the doc!

    Today's plan- green:
    B: Bran flakes (B), milk (A), banana
    L: Mugshot, strawberries, WW yog
    T: Pasta with pesto (2.5) & feta cheese (A), bread roll (B)
    S: Fudge (6)

Have a good week and good luck to my fellow weighers today! :)

my lunch fav are salads too :) I just chop up some iceberg, cucumber, salad onions, radishes, and peppers in the morning and put it in a tupperware(sp?) bowl; at lunchtime I just add some balsamic vinegar and soy sauce and shake it up then add a bit of proteins like prawns, smoked salmon, tuna, egg or meat :) it a really yummy no fuss lunch :) But I guess you have to love salads to do it on a regular basis...

also a regular dinner here is just any fish baked in garlic&spices with some salad or veg :) really quick too and no hardcore cooking involved ;)

^^^ now I should be a few stones lighter then I am! Shame the chocolate/biscuits/icecream is undoing all the good choices... :/

    Wow, lots of new faces.:wave:Hello!
All my Dorothy Perkins purchases have had to be returned - too loose. Will wait now for summer hols and bag some in the states I think.

Bit of a downer for me. Hormonally caused, for the most part. It is (aparently) the teddy bear's birthday today, so we've cooked and decorated a cake - and yes.. licked the bowls clean. Then did the same with the rice crispie bun bowl too.

Glad to see it's not just me though and there are a few of us down in the doldrums.
Medmum. The reason why your plans ain't sticking is because there is an evil little creature in your head thats whispering 'Don't worry no one will know...you're not going to group...'
Consider this 'your group' - we'll know.. and that might just hush that naughy imp up :D
(my dad copes with cronic pain by drowning it in alcohol. Relaxes the tense muscles.. pain ends..for a while. Not very slimming world savvy though)

Well done 2012dailydeals, kandfs mam, CH27

Just purchased a 6 week count down last week, which will take me up to my Hols. I will be watching all you "go it aloners" to see if it is worth saving the £5 a week, and call this my group too!

, if I were in your shoes I would have a celebration evening. Wine, cheese, crackers - chinese... You've hit target, b$$g*! to paying to loose more. I think you might find you'll enjoy gaining a pound or two. Moderation is the key to this food plan. As they keep telling us. Optimise. You can enjoy a little fun now and again right?
  • thanks SH - I have been sworn off alcohol for about 20 years - the last time I got so horrendously drunk that I vowed never to touch a drop ever again!!!!! Now one glass of anything goes straight to my legs and I hate it so don't drink any more!!!

i have done that....the week i got to target was my wedding anniv. and i was boozing the day away and lost 5lbs (that took me to target 5 weeks ago):j:beer:

since then i have had a few nites out, and last week i was away at the seaside for 5 days in my caravan, lost 4lbs.. that took me 5lbs below target, i had chips and ice cream and all sorts, but walked for miles,

some of my biggest weeks, in terms of pounds lost, have come in the weigh in after big nights out, holidays etc:D

every single week since i started SW, (11 months ago) i have had my chinese takeaway on sat nite, i always use my syns, never save up, prefer to do flexi days, :D and DEFO never go without my treats!

i said at the start, this is meant to be something you can do for the rest of your life, so i am NOT going to deprive myself:D
