It was probably at the same time that mine fell off too. OH made the cricket tea for Saturday - and then cricket was cancelled - I can oly look at so many sausage rolls without eating one.....
Bizarrely the butties have been binned but the offending sausage rolls are still in the fridge! When I prize myself off the PC the first thing I will do is bin them...
It's not just the cricket tea - DD2 is about to sit A Levels - there is a lot of chocolate lying around.....
Added to which I have raging PMT and am really bloated.......
so I am nOT looking forward to weigh-in tomorrow.
Yesterday we had roast lamb - today the remaining meat, an onion, stock, loads of spuds and carrots are going in the S/C along with a bit of leftover gravy - real comfort food ( mine will be served with extra veg - green beans, cauliflower to make it suitable for EE.:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Just catching up after the weekend, I can report my first weekend completely on the wagon - my first I think in months :j
I've managed at least 30 mins of exercise everyday since Friday, still couldn't get my DVD to work so I have borrowed The Biggest Loser for the Wii, so I still have Gillian yelling at me and it gave me a good work out on Saturday night.
I looked at my books from slimming world last night and I am the same weight I was back in September, this has really spured me on as I feel I have wasted all those months. So for anyone that is struggling at the moment, maybe do the same? There is nothing like seeing it in black and white.Mediterranean_Mum wrote: »Becks I'm completely with you on everything you say. I'm really really struggling. I'm full of good intentions but then I just can't make it stick.
I'm so caught up on the fact that I can't go to group that it's having an adverse effect on me. I keep making plans, buying the right food but then I just see other stuff or can't be bothered standing in the kitchen cooking the stuff that I end up eating completely off plan.
I'm still hovering around here which is better than nothing but when you don't have a group of people to stand up in front of it's very easy just to fall by the wayside.
MedMum please don't give up. Your posts are always so encouraging to others when they are struggling, and you have shared some lovely recipies on here, so you obviously know what you are on about! You can get back into it and we are all here to support you :grouphug:
I hope everyone has had a good weekend, I haven't caught up with all the posts yet.0 -
I dont post that regularly but I could do with some pretty serious help from you if you could. Hubby and I have been doing sw together, he is type 2 diabetic and has lost nearly 2 stone BUT his diabetes has gone completely out of control as a result. He thinks it is down to the amount of fruit he is eating.
Prior to sw he was on metformin and that was working, for those that understand he has had a HB1C test (I think thats what it is called) which shows that his blood levels are ok, but that is a 3 month test. He and his diabetic nurse were that concerned about his symptoms he agreed to self fund a testing kit and so far he has taken 4 tests which show his blood sugar is too high. The timescale of the change in symptoms marries our time at sw.
He is now talking of quitting, as he is OK with the food optimising at mealtimes but feels the need to snack inbetween. He has been using fruit for this, but we cannot think of a healthy alternative. Crispbreads will only do 1 snack as his HEB, can anyone please suggest any snack ideas that are low syn (less than 2) and low sugar??? Preferably not ones that need to be prepared (we have done sw scotch eggs but they are too time consuming to do regularly).
Thank you all so much.
Hi Missimaxo
I am type 1 diabetic, I was diagnosed 3 years ago at the age of 28. I started sw about 6 months later and lost over 2 sone in about 6 months. Please tell your dh to stick with sw, it is one of if not the best diet for diabetics.
What sorts of fruits is your dh eating? Things like pears, apples and berries are good because they are high in fructose. Grapes pineapple and melon have more natural sugars in them so these can affect the blood sugar readings.
SW is great because it encourages a lot of sugar-free eating which is perfect for me as a diabetic, little pots of sugar free jellies are handy to have around, as is all the diet-drinks.
If you are concerend I would go to your gp, my gp was very encouraging when I mentioned I was starting up with slimming world, and it has worked wonders for my own HbA1c reading which have dropped dramatically.0 -
morning everyone
Finally I stopped calling Jillian those terrible names when she was telling me to do more press ups LOL After the first workout I had to have 3 days break to allow my muscles to recover more or less! But then I thought that I should really stick to it and did it on Sat and on Sun!Today I will try to do the other one(banish fat boost metabolism) which is 40 mins plus warm up and cool down... and then back to 30ds tomorrow
I'm quite proud that I managed to get through the 'no way I can carry on with this' phase as it does get easier
Now foodwise it wasn't as good as I'd like but I won't be looking back and just try to take it one day at the timeSo today I had coffee with milk and a bowl of all bran with some milk, ff yoghurt, 1/2 banana and strawberries
lunch will be salad with some lo roast lamb and dinner will be chicken fillets and maybe mushroom risotto?
Re the food: I have found that after the initial 'wow I can eat all that' phase I tend to just get much more sensible with it... at first we used to get through LOTS of eggs but now it's just a couple a week...
the same was with the Alpen light bars! I could easily have 4-5 a day and that was when I limited myself! now I hardly have one a day... I stopped having one with each coffee as I just told myself that the coffee is satisfying enough for me anyway and the bar was just 'teaching' my brain that I HAVE to have something sweet with coffee...
Now instead of them I have weetabix or all bran with my breakfast as I found that when I was having just fruit+yoghurt I was really hungry mid-morning and my tummy was complaining really loudly! LOL
In terms of low sugar snacks I would suggest ff yoghurts, veg if he likes it(like carrot/celery sticks, tomatoes, etc) and if he is doing EE then maybe have cold meats and boiled potatoes and eggs in the fridge so when he's hungry he can just grab something quickly? give it a try and see how it goes
So I now stopped going to group... Will see if it was a right decision... Just want to thank you for all your posts as they are a great help and support0 -
Evening All...welcome to any new comers.
Couple of questions if you lovely people don't mind.
Is there a limit to the number of eggs I should be eating? I am getting through 6 a week, is that OK?
I get through around 6 eggs a week so if its not ok then we are both in troubleHi HP_Sauce as a newbie i have no idea on red and green as they only explained extra easy to us.
This was the same when i joined SW. They hammered the EE plan, and told me not to bother with Green/Red days.gunsandbanjos wrote: »Did anyone hear a massive bang? If so don't worry it's just my fat !!! falling off the wagon, normal service shall resume tomorrow...
Hope service resumed as normal.

Hello all.
After a giant lardy half term, I am back with purpose. My DH is also getting his fat backside into gear as he has undone loads of the good work he did earlier in the year, the fool! I am five pounds up, which could be worse. But now I am in Operation Bikini mode - five weeks until my holiday in the sun and I want to lose 10lb. Perfectly doable - just two planned celebrations in the way: our anniversary on 3 July (going to Heston's Dinner at the Mandarin Oriental - can't wait!) and Harry Potter experience this weekend where we planned to eat in the cafe. Should be ok if there's a salad type option. My head is in gear, got my packed lunch. Anyone else on a bikini mission?
Hugs to all those struggling.

im at target :j my fiver for every week i am at target goes into a money box for my holiday fund!
tho, i think one way or the other, i will be paying this week...i am 5lbs BELOW target, so i have to either loose another 2lbs and re-adjust my target (you need 7lbs between each target i think?) or put ON 2lbs, which i hate the thoughts of doing!
so, im guessing, i might be paying until i loose another 2lbs!:mad:0
