  • Interesting to be reading these last few pages about kickstarting and doing SW second time around. I am joining on Wednesday and it will be my second time round but ive been trying to follow the plan in the run up and i am failing miserably. I feel my heart isnt in it even though i need to do it for my health if nothing else. I know what to do but i cant be bothered - how bad does that sound?. Well today ive been shopping with someone who is 4 months pregnant and as the shops had such a poor selection of maternity clothes or none at all we resorted to asking at the door before we went in . And yes youve guessed it i asked the man at the door if they had maternity clothes and he said no but we have big sizes or you could try evans up the street. He thought it was me! So i will have to get off my sorry a$$ and get my SW magazines out and do some planning. SW is great when your on a roll but like any diet its the getting back on it thats hard.
So you're Red John? I have to say I'm a little disappointed.

    Good afternoon :)

I didn't make the SW KFC yesterday but I am making it today. I had a nibble when I turned my chicken over and it tasted delicious, not quite KFC but not far off. My lot keep asking when will it be ready because it smells so nice.

Can someone please tell me why I might be feeling extremely bloated? Someone suggested it's the fruit and veg that I'm not used to....I am a bit constipated too. But this bloating is horrible. I've stopped drinking diet drinks too, I know you're allowed them but I think it will contribute to bloatedness.....just trying to have a really strict first week so feeling a bit gutted about my belly being so swollen! :(

I haven't done very well today food/syn wise, a combination of I can't be bothered and being too tired. I have just two days until weigh in and it was be very disheartening if its another gain this week as it will be week 12 of my countdown and will be rather ironic if I gain because even if its just half a pound, I will be back where I started 12 weeks ago!

Last year I kept a diary from early Feb until early august of everything I ate, slimming world or otherwise. Its interesting looking back now and seeing just exactly how much rubbish I ate and explains why the weight was remained. I am going back to keeping a diary and hope I will fill it only with (mostly) healthy food :T
  • I kept a food diary this time round as I did last time I lost 5 stone (without SW ) I use the online funtion on SW website, as it groups all the HEA HEB so I know what exactly I can choose from, plus the syn calc stops me from making silly choices.
I do it first thing in a morning while having breakfast - that said my lovely kids have me up at 5.30 most mornings so I have the time!

Body Magic was a trip to feed the ducks at hubby's walkin pace (3x slower than me) in the lovely early morning sun. Hoping for a -2lb or more this week.. without the 10miles a day walk to school not sure how I'll fair.

SW KFC is on the menu this week mostly cause hubby was noseying over my shoulder.. though I think we might just go simple and dip chicken in egg then breadcrumbs!

Prolly is the veg and massive change in drink habit too. Try getting some Ribena Really Light (super speed/free) or Ribena no added sugar. That helped me no end ;)
Asda have the 1l dilute at £1 so its cheaper than the cartons/larger bottles. Kids love the stuff too.

That's such lovely news about MrsM  Really chuffed for them. That was one wanted baby :D

I've hopped on to confess and get the worries off my chest, hope no one minds...

I was doing SO well. I was nearly at a 7stone loss (started May 2011 and have gone from 20st 1lb down to 13st 4lb) . I had decided to have 3 days off at Easter and had planned all the yummy things I was going to eat, and had already bought a few things in preparation and put them in the cupboard and freezer :D

It was last day at school on friday and some of the children bought me chocolate. I couldn't hold on til Good Friday, and I stuffed. and then yesterday I stuffed some more. I've eaten all the things I bought for Easter. I ate so much yesterday that I gave myself the "eggy burps" that you get when you've eaten so much you're stomach can't cope :o I'm a Totally Disgusting Frog.

SO.... I texted Taplady who talked sense into me and I've stopped. In fact I didn't just stop this morning, I stopped at 7pm last night (mid flow so to speak) so I must be possitive about that.

I am back on plan today and I am glad that it's April 1st as it feels like a great day to renew. SW is an EXCELLENT plan as there is no need for me to stress about being good again because of all the yummy food I can eat every day :)

Easter came early in this pond so I won't be eating anymore this comming weekend. I've had my treats. If there are any other bingers out there, just wanted to say, I have never felt so possitive after a binge, and never got back on track so quickly. I guess as I'm still 'in recovery' I have to go through these little blips to make me realise how easy it is and how far I've come. Piglet and cyclingyorkie are such an inspiration as they have lost loads too and just keep plodding on, and so must I...

    Have a smashing day people

    xx

Well done for that, it really does take willpower to get back on the straight and narrow.
Remember how much you have lost and remember how good it feels to weigh less, so just put it behind you and carry on regardless :rotfl:

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    46 weeks!

Food diary for me today as follows:

B - leftover chicken & sweetcorn SW quiche; pear; black coffee
L - roasted red peppers stuffed with beef savoury rice (made for tea last night but never eaten!); pear
    S - 2 babybel light (HEA); mullerlight
D - Roasted mediterranean vegetable soup (butternut squash, red peppers, tomatoes, red onion, garlic, veg stock cube).

Drinks - black coffee & flavoured sparkling water

I took the wee fella for a walk in his buggy today as well - 1hr 20mins at a brisk pace over fairly hilly terrain. I was knackered and very red in the face when I got home! Fingers crossed that it does some good for WI tomorrow.

We were talking about dizzy earlier and if she was here we'd definitely be having some toilet humour by now!:rotfl:Have a look at the dynoraod soup in the recipe link in the first post, that'll get you 'going'. We've had many a poster talk about how if they haven't 'been' it affects WI. Just keep sticking to the plan (and the pan!;)) and you'll lose!

Planning is an absolute MUST as far as I'm concerned and I can't imagine how anyone succeeds without it. I've always been an avid meal planner as it saves time and money but for SW it's essential. Basically I only bought what I needed for my meal plan (plus a few treats for DH but I tried to buy things that I didn't like). You could use the SW sample menus or recipes from the mags or (as I mostly did) adapt your usual meals to cooking them the SW way (Frylight mainly). I did a diary when I needed to focus. I wrote it in columns of free, superfree, HEXs and syns which helped me to make sure I had enough superfrees. As for the 'too tired to cook', again I had a mse solution: I always have batch cooked portions of SW bolognese, chilli and curry in my freezer. I know it makes me sound like Little Miss Perfect :obut it really is so much easier (and cheaper) in the long run.
