Thankyou Karen, and you're right I am my biggest critic
I sat here this morning feeling like it had been a month long "pig fest" and how it was all going to fall apart, and I'm a huge fattie again right back up to 20st, and I might as well slit my throat right now because I'm totally hopeless and I'll never lose it all again and... and ... and ...
in reality I only 'fell off the wagon' on Friday afternoon
I am an idiot though because I didn't even enjoy what I ateI stuffed it down so quick it didn't even hit the sides!

So much so that I haven't had any proper chocolate since 8th Jan as I know if I have one piece I will be like a crazed beast scoffing out of control. If I have a real chocolate craving I eat the dry powder of a Cadbury's Highlight with a teaspoon- that soon shifts the craving!
No way I could trust myself with a rationed amount of chocolate so I avoid it totally. I actually find that the more I keep away from chocolate the easier it is. If I have some, I want more - are we feeding an addiction like an alcoholic needing just one drink to fall off the wagon?
If I fancy a sweet treat I have an Options drink which at 2 syns each are quite easy to fit in the plan.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Yes Minnie you're right. I struggle between the "stay away from it as you'll get a taste for it and go berserk" thought,
to the " a little of what you fancy, all in moderation, don't deprive yourself" opinion.
trouble is, with me, it isn't a 'little' and I'm not sure 'moderation' is actually a word I understand

I'm with you totally ladies. Frogga, you have done amazingly well and achieved so much in less than a year!! This time last year I had signed up to a rival slimming club (for the 4th time!) and had lost about a stone in 2 months.... I went on to lose another stone, my jeans fit me again and I fell off the wagon spectacularly - ate what I wanted, chocolate & red wine ruled my life... fast forward to Jan this year and I was the heaviest I had ever been at half a stone heavier than I had been when I started WW the year before.
My Sis in Law nearly got a smack in the mouth last week when I visited them and I declined a glass of wine and asked for a black coffee instead... she said, oh you must be on your annual diet agian then? You do the same every year, join a slimming club, lose a bit of weight then put it all back on by Xmas. Coupled with the fact she is a small size 8, I very nearly had my hands round her throat but then I realised she's right, I do it every year BUT NO MORE - this time it's gonna be different.
So my one plea is that if in a few month's time you see me wavering, kick my sorry a$$ and tell me to get a grip or I will be back in the vicious cycle again and SIL will be right.
Sorry for the waffle!!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

What wonderful news - love to mum, dad and little Charlie.
I have not been very active around here as nothing to report. I am either 2 up or 2 down - been like that for the last 4 weeks now and it is getting a little tedious:cool:
I am not going to go hog wild and stuff myself as I have been expecting this for some time. I am still down 5 dress sizes and feeling like a spring chickie so I will just carry on until this stall decides it is over
(((hugs))) to everyone - I am still around just a bit !!!!!! off:rotfl:Mags - who loves shopping0 -
Lovely news for Mrs M, busy, tired lady now.
I too am very much the same when it comes to chocolate, I can't just have a bit. There is some part of my brain that over rides the common sense section and I have to have the tin, box, bag, and bar.
Needless to say I don't touch the stuff, haven't for nearly a year now. Sadly, before SW I just replaced that with alcohol and other sugary snacks. Now I just dont do sugary things called "sweets" or "biscuits" and rarely "crisps"
Common sense is allowed to rule - and sadly it sees the number of calories in a so called "healthy" good for you bar ( all three in a pack mind) and thinks - wow thats a bag of haribo.
So I don't eat that either!
The up shot of this of course is I can have the pizza and not worry about the syns taking me over.
I don't expect anyone else to understand "I can't have chocolate - I have to have all of it." makes me sound like such a pig.
Magnolia Stalls for me in the past have meant body changes elsewhere. Check the inches around those places that are forgotten!0 -
Fab news for Mrs M and so well deserved - a very loved baby no doubt.
I can take or leave chocolate but can demolish a big bag of crisps (designed to share or for parties) in no time so I'm trying to avoid them - even a small multipack bag would lead to the rest of the 6 pack going too.:o
I took the dog for an hour long walk in a country park this morning to look at the new baby deer - it was cold but sunny and a nice start to the day with a bit of exercise built in.
Breakfast - none, never feel like it on the weekend
Lunch - 2 slices of small wholemeal bread (HEB), scraping of marg (? syns), lettuce, quorn ham and tomato, Muller with few left over berries thrown in
Tea - quorn fillets, lettuce, cucumber, tomato, new potatoes, boiled egg, beetroot, pickled cabbage, cheese (HEA)
There's loads of fruit in so plenty of snacks available - no excuse for crisps!0 -

Yes you are right - my waist has got smaller so I am shape shifting without the loss showing on the scales. It will all equalize out one day.
I lasted 14 months before I got my stall so I cannot complaine - I have lost 85/87lbs (depending on which week it is - this week is a 87lb week but I bet next week will be a 85lb week :rotfl:Mags - who loves shopping0 -

One of the things that kickstarted me to join S/W was when my mum gave up having a go at me and started on my daughter....
I have lost nearly 5 and a half stones, but DD2 has modified her eating, upped her exercise ( job after school means a walk there and back) and stopped snacking. She is down roughly 3 stones.....:j:j:j.
Last weekend mum phoned and announced ( in the way that an 83 yearold does) that she wants a professional photographer to take a pic of DD2, cos she's so pretty, esp since she lost the weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I haven't told the kids what Gran wants, but I have agreed with both OH and my sister that the minimum number of grandkids appearing in any portrait is 6 - my 3, plus my sisters 1, plus her 2 stepdaughters....
I did tell DD2 that her gran thought she looked stunning and her reaction was 'She only likes me now I'm thin! - She hated me when I was fat!'
I'm glad I got to grips with my weight when I did!!! For DD2's sake!
Today I have learned that it IS possible to cycle 3 miles, go swimming (30 lengths) and cycle back! How cream crackered I am tomorrow remains to be seen...
And finally MANY CONGRATS to MrsM on her bundle of joy! And come back Dizzy...:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
That's wonderful news about MrsM. So pleased for them.:T
Now we just have to hope Dizzy is ok both in herself and with her family.
Haven't 'seen' med mum about either.
:Dgreat news about Baby M. Please give our congratulations when you go on the other thread tie.
I'm sure dizzy will be back when the dog-sitting is over and various family issues calm. Meantime:wave: dizzy. I know med mum was going on holiday but I thought she should be back by now. So :wave:mm if you're lurking, be back soon!
Having just caught up a few days of posts, I'll add my two pennyworth:
All the time I was getting to target I saved almost all my syns for weekends. I bargained on 105 and every weekend I had 3 bottles of red(:o:eek:) and some gravy with my roast on Sunday. I reckoned that used about 80 syns and the rest was for any cornflour used in sauces through the week. I found it much safer to ban crisps and pies and pasties and the same for sweet stuff (although that didn't really bother me). My only other syns were from eating out. To begin with I used to try and plan by having steaks and jackets and that sort of thing but it took the fun away so then I started doing 'sensible flexi' when I went out instead and then straight back on the wagon. It did mean I took the 'scenic' route but I think it stopped me getting miserable and giving up.
There were a few questions: eggs are completely free (although not the chocolate ones;)) but you do need to make sure you keep up the superfree. I made a lovely, easy dip with syn free yogurt and a bit of mint sauce and sweetener. I often took it to parties with me for the buffet table. I checked the mint & choc Muller and it is free. I noticed I'll be locked out of the SW website if I don't go to group this week, so I must go along. I've just been busy but I 'm confident I'm still at target, probably under. We'll see on WI day!
Good luck for the week all. I remember people at my group confessing to having eaten their children's Easter eggs last year. DON'T!!!!:rotfl:
