day 29 of 30 day shred :j!! i think i'm going to miss having my butt kicked by jillian at 6am i can't fit in BFBM first thing in a morning cos its nearly an hour long so will be exercising after work instead.
i snuck a look on some scales yesterday and my weight is exactly the same as it was at my first WI last Tuesday....i think eating apples and bananas while god daughter was in hospital has caught up with me and if i'm really honest i have taken the superfree and drinking water to the extreme now i've got till tuesday to sort myself out....someone said yesterday if you exercise a lot your body will retain water for a few weeks to compensate is this correct? when I was doing WW i was on my exercise bike for over 2 hours a day (i got slightly obsessed) but i didn't think this held me back weight wise but now i'm doing jillian michaels and cross trainer could this be too much?

    1. muscle is heavier than fat so don't just judge the scales as you've been working out so hard

    2. there is such a thing as drinking too much water and you should only drink between 1.5-2 litres a day. I remember on an episode of Biggest Loser over here that one of the girls drank gallons of water on WI day and she put on several pounds - it was purely water weight but she was gutted

Well done Lalamb, Fluff and Becks :D And good for you Med Mum for making that commitment- I'm sure your mum will be thrilled to see you and even more so if you've lost a bit of weight too. Good luck!

Walked in today- was a bit drizzly but too humid for a waterproof (didn't want to be any more of a sweaty mess getting into work!). OH is back today so we're going to see the Olympic torch after work (goes right past my work so we're being let out early!) then into town for a bit. Getting bus home but doubt I'll drink - can't be bothered to use the syns! Was a good reason to not bring the car though, when actually I just fancied walking - what's happened to me?!

Speaking of drinking, after reading some of the posts here about it I watched that Secret Eaters last night. Was pretty good, although the bits in between (e.g. the ice cream experiment etc) irritate me as they pretty much tell you what you already know but in a more patronising fashion, and I'd like to have seen the woman get weighed at the end, but enjoyed it nonetheless. The bit I was really interested in was the calories in alcohol - 230 in a pint?! I'll have to tell OH that - I'm not a big drinker but he likes his real ale, which I suspect is more as is usually stronger, and has a few pints every week. Doubt he'll listen but we can but try *sigh*

Anyway, EE again for me today:
B: Porridge (HEB), milk (HEA), banana
L: SW quiche, salad, dressing (0.5)
T: Thai red chicken curry and rice (1)
    S: Greek muller (0.5), French Fries (4.5), Freddo (5)

Have a great BH weekend everyone :D
i don't think the woman was very happy with being 'caught out' did you see her reaction when they said she'd eaten mayonnaise i thought her head was going to pop off her head!!
Well done for that, what is this shred everyone talks about!
its an exercise dvd done by a trainer off biggest loser US, there are 3 levels and each one is just under 30 minutes long and you do it every day (only 1 level though!) for 30 days and it's hard but it works! i can def notice a difference in my fitness and have had comments on my 'abs'! i got the 4 dvd boxset from amazon for about £17 and the 2 i have used so far make it money well spent

i do have mini biceps now (thanks to the shred!) but does this mean that i won't ever get to where i want to be cos now i think about it my weight gain with WW started after my exercise bike broke (overuse :rotfl:) and i was doing Davina and Charlie Brooks dvd and cross trainer and then I started 30 day shred

i was always good at drinking water before dieting cos i'm not really a fan of pop but in the heat wave of the past couple of weeks i have been really thirsty and only thing that stops me drinking gallons a day is sucking on frozen raspberries...think my body is working against me :rotfl:

I think I need to through my scales away, I have got into that horrible habit of weighing myself everyday, this morning I have only lost 1/4lb since my weigh in on Tuesday and then I started panicking thinking that I won't lose a decent amount by Tuesdays weigh in. Which is silly because I still have a few days, I am sticking to plan 100%, I had 2 decent weigh ins so naturally it will slow down to 1-2lbs a week which I will be happy with.
So yeah, scales in the bin I think!

Some fab loses on here! Well done to you all. Staff training today, kids are stressing me out already, it just makes me want to binge!

  • You will lose Vicki but you just need to remember that you're toning as well. I've heard a lot of people say on here that they had a number in their head of where they wanted to get to but in actual fact they were getting to the dress size they wanted without being at that weight because their body had changed and they'd been doing a lot of exercise.

I think it's terrible that we're all so focused on the numbers because often it really bears no relation to the action body.

Work at being fit and healthy and getting into the clothes you want.

  • Oh and if you're constantly thirsty you need to get your blood work done because there could be an underlying medical problem. You shouldn't be drinking gallons of water and still being thirsty.

  • so after my past couple of weeks of being totally off plan and eating high amounts of sugar and carbs again it's been a hard day back on plan. I ate breakfast at 8.30 and then by 10 I was absolutely starving and I knew the watermelon that I was planning on snacking on wasn't going to do it for me so I ended up having lunch at 10.30! It's done the trick though as it's now after 2 and I'm fine and just about to have some watermelon!
