    Good afternoon,

A few strange things have happened over the last couple of days regarding weight loss.

I wanted to experiment with something. I was starting to think fruit was having a negative effect on me so since Thursday morning up till now I have had no fruit at all. I lost 3lbs from WI on Thursday night and Friday night.......a 24 hour period, I was in total shock, confirmed on 2 different scales so I definitely have lost 3lbs, no doubt about it!!! Last week I really cut back on my fruit too, this is why I think I lost so much this week.

I had a very interesting conversation with a friend of a friend this morning, she is a nutriotionist. I got on to tell her how I had started slimming world but told her it was going really slowly. I told her how I'd lost 3 stone last year by following a really low fat diet. I said I don't understand why it's taking it's time this time around. She said I should identify what I was doing differently to last year, so I told her I'd upped my veg intake and fruit intake. She asked me how much fruit I was having and I said between 2 and 3 bowls of fruit per day she looked horrified when I tried to explain the size of the bowl and said the fruit is definitely the problem. Whilst I suspected it may be the case I was quite shocked by what she told me re fruit and what happens to the sugars. She said at the very most I should be having 2 pieces of fruit each day and forget grapes and bananas . Some people get told to eat loads of fruit when they are on a diet, some people can get away with it , but there are some people who cannot eat lots of fruit.

Anyway, I thought I would follow up my discussion and do a bit of research online, and it definitely seems to be a widespread issue for people.

Another thing......for 8 weeks I haven't had a proper poo(sorry for the TMI) until this morning, I was so happy to see that it wasn't pellet like :o ! I am not going to cut out fruit but definitely limiting it, she said berries are ok but in small amounts.

I must say I am amazed, I feel less bloated and my face looks less puffy too and I definitely believe it's related to cutting out fruit.

wooohooo god daughter was discharged yesterday afternoon but have to take her in every day at 3 for antibiotics infusion until blood tests are back....dunno where they sent them she was admitted on wednesday and have took bloods multiple times but no results back
i went to sainsburys last night later than usual to do my shopping and it looked like they were closing down it was only 7pm but the fridges and freezers were practically empty and there were no oranges or apples left so gonna have to pop back again later....they did have my frozen raspberries though and i am totally addicted to them and frozen muller light! hope you all have lovely weekends and thanks again for all the nice messages

So glad to hear the little girl is out of hospital and danger! Like you, I'm addicted to frozen raspberries; I have lots of other frozen and fresh fruit around but for breakfast I love my rasperries - either thrown into hot porridge in winter, or defrosted with some mango, pineapple, melon - they just add that something , yum yum (frozen mullers too, but try WW citrus fruits frozen they're very good as well :D )

I've just got back from shopping in the next town (we only have a Co-op - I compared their 1.27 tomatoes, I got them BOGOF but still 1.27 for 2 is expensive, and in the Nisa supermarket in the next town it's 3 cans for £1, so ner ner ner to the Co-op) anyway as I was saying I also picked up some Quorn sticky fillets, just had a look online and they are NO syns. I got the lime and ginger ones, they also do a hot & sweet (or something, sorry I've closed that page down now). Will happily do a trial and let you know! Fab day here, but a bit chilly inside so going out again to bake. Us workers only get 2 days a week of sunshine :D gotta make the most of it.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

2 & 1/2lb off for me. Feeling quite pleased about that as I used ALL my syns !
I have decided to reset my target weight to be my Club 10, that will be a total loss of 1 st 2lb. 5 and 1/2 lb to go. I dont want to drop into the 9st range, that would be too skinny for my height.

    Well done Arty :T

    Hi All,
Congrats to all the losers, and hugs to those who need it.
I'm still around just haven't had much time to post.
DH had emergency gall bladder surgery a week ago so the last couple of weeks have been crazy. He's on the mend now though.
I finally stopped the stupid gaining and losing of the same 5 lbs. and I'm almost a 1/3 of the way to my goal now. :) Wasn't always on plan while DH was in hospital but I tried to stick to it as close as I could with what was available.

Sorry to hear that, I had mine out at the beginning of the year, not the nicest of ops but feel so much better for having it out, I'm sure your hubby will too!

That's interesting as i've been wondering if fruit has been affecting my bowels.

I think it really came down to the amount of fruit I was eating, if you are eating a lot of fruit cut back and see what happens. It wont harm you to try.

My weight loss should have been far, far greater than what it has been up till this weeks WI, it's taken me 7/8 weeks to figure it out but I feel so much happier now I know. I'm not nervous at all about WI on Thursday like I have been the last few weeks, it was ruining my life, and making me incredibly upset.

I have had no fruit now since Thursday morning and my body feels better for not having any.....it's strange getting my head around that fact but it's definitely feeling better.

No you're not selfish Vicki, she is. Hope your god daughter is on the mend.

I have sick child too this morning. She came through at about 6am saying she had heat spots on her tummy. Nope, they'll be chicken pox:eek: And my husband has never had it:eek::eek:

A mate was in hospital having baby no 3 when her 2 older ones came down with chicken pox. She was convinced she'd never had it - but a blood test revealed she had had it! Must have been so mild no-one noticed! (Good thing - they were going to keep her in if she hadn't had it!)

However I was sat in a car with someone who admitted that she shouldn't have brought X cos he had got a couple of spots ( her eldest had just had it!) There was a strange silence in the car followed by me saying that I'd never had it....

I got it 2 weeks later - and I was about 15 weeks pregnant! It was the worst week of my life - mates helped a lot and took eldest out to play ( DS came down before I did) but family did naff all!

Fingers crossed your OH is like my mate....

This is the same for me as well. I have always been "regular" (as in one a day) and have had normal number 2's up til i started SW , when i noticed they became less frequent & are very soft (sorry TMI i know :o)

I also try to limit my bread intake because it makes me feel very bloated & i find hinders my weight loss.

Amazing how different people can be. I've always been a 1-2 time a week girl until I started SW, now I'm much more regular.
