Am now in my second week of SW and enjoying eating rather a lot of food and reading through the messages.
Probably a silly question but I wondered if anyone knows how tablets are treated, such as primrose, flaxseed and cod liver oil. Do they have an impact on syns or weightloss.rainbowfairydust wrote: »I am not sure of any syn value but tbh i wouldn't be synning them at all if i need to take them for the benefit of my health then i will take them regardless. Is the flaxseed in a tablet form? Or the stuff you can buy in H & B? If the latter then yes would syn this as i know calorie content is quite high..
I saw a thread on minimins recently with someone asking for syn value for cough medicine which is bonkers. I think if you are ill then you take whatever you need to get better again. Health is more important than syn values !
Sorry went a bit OT there but i think synning medicine is ludicrous -
i think officially they will have a syn value, my cod liver oil tells me its 10 cals a tablet so that would be 0.5 syns for 1 going off 20 cal = 1 syn. i know cough medicine does too.
i agree with rainbowfairydust - i think its stupid to syn them. if I'm feeling ill, i completely ignore SW and eat what i feel like eating. especially if i have tonsillitis and the only things i can get down are either mash potato, ice cream or the slim fast shakes. if i get really bad and i genuinely cant eat, i have no choice but to have the slim fast shakes because its the closest thing i'll be be getting to an actual meal with calories and vitamins in but i know they will be horrific syn wise.0 -
I bought two pairs of linen three quarter length trousers one cream one black both Wallis ( I have to take the 12 in a bit!) and an olive green with silver thread Oasis top all for £12 this morning in a local charity shop.Norn Iron Club member 4730

Morning all!
i am going back to my usual class today, (5pm Monday) i had been going to the same venus at 930am class on tues, but i really dont think i am one of these people who weigh lighter in the mornings,
i am a bit worried about going in cause i am heavier at night tho,
l am 0.5lbs over target, so i hope to still be within the 3lbs range regardless, i may as well go while i am in target range and work from there,
the really annoying thing is that last week i weighed 11.13 in the docs, this week i was 11.12, tho the SW scales weighed me at 12.4.5! near half stone difference:mad::eek:
its was neither here nor there when i had 6 stone to loose, but it matters to me now:o:mad:
also i got my Xenical / orlisat script from the GP, but its still out of stock in all the chemists i tried, anyone know anything about it, the only info i can get is "it will be june til we hear more",
i was super good all weekend, plenty of body magic, so fingers crossed for tnite0 -

He chose a Chinese buffet though! Lovely thought but not very helpful to me. I didn't eat too much though so hopefully not too much damage done.
Well done :T:T

On the upside I felt very thin at the buffet last night! They seem to attract a particular demographic....

I've got my first weigh in tomorrow morning, feeling quite nervous even though I have stuck to plan 100% I am still paranoid I won't have lost anything. I have just made some chocolate and banana muffins for the kids, they worked out at 8.9 syns each so I had one :rotfl:.
B - Shreddies (HEB) Milk (HEA) Banana, pear, melon and kiwi fruit.
L - Beans on one slice of toast (4 syns) with salad.
D - Turkey stir fry which will have loads of veg in.
Might have a salad in the evening if i'm peckish.Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

I am trying a green day today for the first time so my menu is this -
B - 35g of grape nuts with skimmed milk (HEX A & B )
L - Ainsley Harriett cous cous (half a pack used so 0.5 syns) , have thrown in some peppers, quorn chicken pieces (free) and button mushrooms to make a bit more filling.
D - Sweet potato chips with a veggie omelette topped with 2nd HEX A 45g of reduced fat cheese
S - pineapple & melon, low fat greek yoghurt (0.5 syns) , packet of kooks vegetable & rice snacks (4 syns )
Does this look ok for a green day??
Also just wondering about what other people do about clothes? Most of clothes are feeling baggy on me now but am feeling reluctant to spend since i am still another 1.5 stone from target.
ETA - Not going to my usual WI this PM. Am trying out another consultant this week so WI will be Thurs this week
I think I will have sweet potato chips with my dinner tonight. I have only had half a HEB (alpen light bar) so far and just milk so can treat today as an extra easy day instead of red. It was so nice going to the office fridge at lunch and pulling out my big box of salad and heating up my WW meal. Much better than going to the Mr T store next door and buying rubbish. Being organised definitely helps :TAm now in my second week of SW and enjoying eating rather a lot of food and reading through the messages.

I would see what your consultant says ? but to be honest, I wouldn't syn it but just bear in mind that there might be some hidden syns there.
Foodwise, I have ended up having a bowlful of melon for breakfast followed by half of the greek peach yogurt so half of half a syn :rotfl: I have had a few of my caramel nibbles so syns not planned there but needed a chocolate fix after talking to colleague about her poorly cat and got upset.
Lunch was my WW meal - still need to confirm the syns but no more than 6. served this with side salad which was very yummy.
followed this with an alpen lite bar (half of my HEB).
Still planning to have tesco simply cook lamb shank as mentioned earlier for tea :T
ps I second the charity shop hunt for clothes0 -
Hello all
I am back - didn't get to come on here at all whilst at my parents but the good news is I stuck to SW the whole time *phew!*. My mum wanted to start it again so I cooked us SW meals and it wasn't too difficult with both of us doing it. When my bro and SIL came over for the day I was all prepared for having to have a takeaway but it turns out my SIL is doing SW too (neither of us knew the other was doing it) so we made a SW spag bol and salad followed by fruit salad. Think I am finally looking a bit thinner but will see at WI tonight!
Haven't read through any of the previous posts yet but will have a quick look now. Hope you're all ok and have been doing well
Today's plan- green:
B: Weetabix (HEB), milk (HEA), banana
L: Mugshot, strawberries
T: TBC - probably pasta with veggies, bread (HEB), cheese (HEA)
S: Muller greek yog (0.5), mini milk (1.5), Freddo (5)
A discovery I made whilst away was Weight Watchers cheese. I am wary of cheese that is too low fat as it tends to be dry but we bought the WW mature cheddar slices and they were really nice (normally pretty pricey but were on offer in Tesco). I did work out how many for a HE, IIRC you get 3 but I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong! Got some Leerdammer light in Asda yesterday as they are reduced to £1 atm- you get 40g for a HE so will have to weigh the slices and see how many that is (am guessing it's 2)
Also, Asda have started doing the 'orange' milk (between semi and skimmed) and have just found out that you get 300ml for HEA. I normally have 250ml semi as not keen on skimmed but can't tell the difference between semi and orange, and will be nice to have a bit extra when have cereal etc.
