Hi, I joined SW last Monday and just come across this thread. Hope you don't mind me joining in. I lost about a stone and a half on WW a couple of years ago and have pretty much maintained since as I do a fair bit of exercise. My eating habits were getting a bit out of control and I want to try and lose another stone and a half but I just couldn't get on with their new plan. I found it too restrictive and too much effort to work out points.
Anyway, I thought that I would give SW a go after reading such positive things. I found the first week really easy and really enjoyed cooking recipes out of the magazines and eating all this healthy food. I was really disappointed to find at my first weigh in on Monday that I had put on half a lbI was really embarrassed at my first week not going well but I can honestly say I stuck to the plan. Staying for a group definitely helped though as everyone was so lovely and supportive. I showed my consultant my food diary and she said it was fine so I am not sure what is going on
Just trying to stay positive, I've stuck to the plan this week and really hoping for a loss on Monday. One thing I did notice is that I am REALLY bloated. ToM isn't due so I assume it's the change in diet? I see other people have mentioned being bloated on SW so I wonder if this effected my weigh in? I really hope this week is a better week because this plan seems brilliant, I don't feel deprived at all and I have so much more energy!
Just off to read back over all the old posts...up to page 18 so far :rotfl:
Hello and welcome to the SW thread. You've definitely come to a great group of people who are full of advice, inspiration and motivation.
I've read several times that people who switch from weight watchers to slimming world put on weight. Someone recently posted here that they had switched over and that her consultant told her that she would probably gain on her first week. Don't get too disheartened, see what happens next week.0 -

Hello and welcome, the more the merrier! I definitely agree that switching from WW to SW can cause weight gain, we have also had members at our group who have gained in the first week. If you would like to post a few days menus I'm sure someone will take a look and put you right if there's anything that can be improved on. I do mostly red and green days so I'm not much help on the extra easy plan but there's lots on here who know it inside out.
Good luck, I'm sure you'll do brilliantly. X0 -

Evening every one - I've been a bl00dy saint this week ahead of my weekend away. I am soooo looking forward to it and while I am going to try to be sensible with food I am going all out on the booze!! It's the first weekend away without kids for over 3 years and we are damn well going to enjoy it.
I had intended going to WI on Monday to see what the damage is but now I have to go down South with work so will miss WI. Fingers crossed for the following week though - I so want my next certificate!Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

It's not ridiculous - we are all focussed on the numbers whether we should be or not. And you DID lose 3 stone ... even if a pound or two has gone back on. Perhaps you are now where your body is comfortable, there's not point making yourself miserable for the sake of 5 or 6 lbs now is there *big hug*hollowhead wrote: »This is my first week after being with WW for years;) really enjoying all the food I am eating:cool: Hope i loose but have heard I may not:( will let You know Monday:):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

Kandfs mam
have a great weekend , you deserve it!!
Hello hollowhead and all other newcomers ... brace yourself for tmi. I don't know what caused it but I trotted to the work loo today, sat down and unexpectedly did the biggest, loudest and l-o-n-g-e-s-t f*rt ever. I was torn between being grateful there was no-one in the other cubicles and wishing there had been someone to be impressed! I confess I stayed where I was and giggled for a while. I've decided my weight loss system is lose, gain, sts, lose, gain, sts, but the losses outdo the gains by about a pound over the 3 week cycle. Slow but sure.[/QUOTE]
Thanks for making me laugh:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -

Feeling stressed already and haven't even got to work yet!!
Haven't been able to catch up properly so looking forward to doing that over the weekend. :j
Foodwise for me, yesterday, well it didn't exactly go to plan - ended up going out for an office lunch which wasn't expected and was not in the slightest SW friendly (greek mezze!) the day didn't get any better from there.... (lets just mention those words m&$ dine in for 10 pounds.......) enjoyed it all though and know that I can have treats - I just need to remember that I can't do it everyday.
For some reason at the moment, I seem to be obsessed with pick and mix ??? in the sense that i can't wait to hop down to my local wilkin$sons and get some! have resisted so far!
Have a good day all. Will catch up properly tonight/tomorrow xxx0 -

Good morning
Feeling a bit more positive today.
I've decided to cut back on the carbs, not cut them out but just cut back for a few days to see what happens.
Starting swimming today too, I've put it off the last couple of weeks but I love swimming, it's just taking that first step of slipping into a costume that's daunting for meBut it really helps with weight loss and it's enjoyable! I need a rest today from the Jillian Michaels workouts, my knee and calf is quite sore today.
Food diary today
B Mullerlight with blueberries, grapes and strawberries
L SW quiche and salad
D not too sure yet, something light on carbs if anyone can suggest a few ideas?
Snacks will be fruit and mullerlights.0
