    :jgo you...another great first week!:j

    are you enjoying it ?

I must admit Piglet, I am enjoying it.

I have tried every diet in the book and most recently all the Atkins/Dukan/Harcombe type with low carb and high fat and much as I can see that they have merit, they are not for me in a forever sort of way.

The basics of SW are something I can imagine being the new way for me forever.

I have eaten some lovely food this week and will eat better next week because I am determined to be more organised. I have rediscovered a love of fruit which I had forgotten. I have been on too many diets that say that fruit is too high in sugar so needs to be eliminated or rationed that I had got out of the habit of eating it at all. This week I have enjoyed satsumas, red grapefruit, various types of melon, apples, mango and most especially pineapple - it is so delicious! To be able to eat it and know that it is one of the foods that you are not only permitted but encouraged to eat is a joy - especially as we move into summer.

It has also helped me to drink less wine. I was definitely a daily drinker and was hitting the wine every evening. There was also a bit of the 'now the bottle's open I may as well finish it...' so most days I probably drank a whole bottle! Last week I had a glass of wine on 2 days only but at 8 syns for a large glass I just didn't want to 'waste' my syns on a drink. As my treat last night as it was WI day I finished the bottle but the bottle had lasted me all week so I am really pleased with that healthy 'side effect' of this diet.

I am finding this thread inspirational and very informative - thank you to all who contribute.

Blimey. I only just found this new thread! It suddenly occured to me that nothing had come up in my list for a while for slimming world!
The good news is that I have lost some weight, even with the nasty steroids I am taking. As of this morning I am 10st 7, which is the lowest I've been since before Christmas.

I had my monthly book club last night (read wine and nibbles night) and did really well - 2 small glasses of wine out of my syns and just ate veg sticks with no dips and not a single crisp! This is one fo my real weaknesses so am super proud! I had a sneaky mid week weigh in and am another 2lb down :)

if you make a target, say for example 9 stone 10lbs, then you decide to reset that target, you have to reset it by at least 7lbs, so your new target would be either, 9stone 3, or 10stone 3.

each time you set a new target, it has to be at least 7lbs difference from your last target,

    HTH;)

Does this apply even if you have got to your target as I did? Target was 8st 5lb so would I have to change it to 8st 11lb ? I'm 9st 1lb now so would I just need to lose 1lb to be within the 3lb allowed either way or would I have to get to 8st 11lb again? Sorry if this is gobbledygook !!!

I think if you change a target you have to hit the new actual value before you are at target again, then the 3lbs either way rule kicks in. If they didnt do that, they'd have loads of people declaring target a few weeks before without actually hitting it and being the business it is, loose out on at least one more weeks class fee.

just a quick hello from my holidays! :)

trying very hard to eat SW friendly but it's a really tough task in this country :( hard to find ff yoghurts(only found some 0% drinking ones at 35-40 kcal/100ml so I recon not too bad), no fry light, no ff cottage cheese and lots of other things I normally use, fruit very limited too(I love strawberries, pinapple, mango etc. which are hard to find here at this time of the year)
AND we're visiting lots of people, travelling all the time, so eating what others offer and no time/place to cook myself :/ not doing too bad tho, using my syns for the things I eat when I have no other choice(didn't even touch chocolate or other sweets as no spare syns :/)
I also probably don't eat enough as when there is nothing SW friendly I just don't eat and try to see if I can get something SW later :(

will survive till Monday tho, get on the scales on Tuesday and see if there is any damage and try to fix it if needed :)

miss the thread too as it's always a great support and motivation :)

    'see' ya soon! :)

PS. Lovely to see all your lost lbs ;)

girlies, there is a friend of mine that loves german biscuits but was wondering the syn value of them? for the life of me i cant figure it out - its basically two bits of round shortbread sandwiched with a little jam, with a blob of icing on the top and sprinkles... im guessing around 4ish syns per biscuit but really not sure.
I'd rather try and fail, than not try and never know

On the wagon again I go.... royally fell off.... 4.5st (63lb) by June 2016.... LET'S DO THIS!!!!!!!:grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin::grin:
