Spring into Summer 2012 with Slimming World

As I was going to do the big shop, I spent ages this afternoon looking through SW mags for some new meal ideas, we seem to stick to the same boring things all the time. Decided this week I'll do the Spring Salmon Parcels, I'm 41 and I've only ever eaten salmon from a tin, lol, (£7 for 4 salmon fillets). Hope it doesn't become a favourite like the steak, we can only afford that once a month. I am finding it so expensive £121 tonight for 4 of us, and that was after we used a £12 voucher. Its not as if we eat expensive meals everyday, so far this week we've had a fat free fry up, chicken roast dinner and a chilli. I wouldn't mind but when I've spent all this money on food I'll have no money left for my new wardrobe, hehe!
Why does T shopping always make me rant!SW start date 20/02/12 - lost so far 2st 2.5lb0 -

B - Shredded wheat (HEB) with skimmed milk (from HEA 375ml) and banana
L - king prawns and salad (def 1/2 superfree today!!)
D - 2 ww sausage (1 syn), sweet potato, broccoli cauliflower and carrots (got the right veg for superfree today lol)
Snack - Special K choc chip bar (4 syns), cherry tomatoes, cranberry/raspberry muller light
I know it's similar to yesterday... I know have 3 days off so I will cook some different things. Not yet used up all my milk and I really want something sweet! Luckily someone just stole the last crunchie from the fridge so I don't mess up badly lol!! Hope everyone has had a good day x
ETA Evilsquid, thank you for your post yesterday it's been super helpful. Now I have 3 days off work I can think about it a little more, I think I will be more of a green day person (and I love fruit and veg but am already a bit sick of trying to get it in every meal!!)
Glad I could help!
I was like that with EE, I like fruit and veg but I felt like I was forcing myself to eat it in the end. Plus I hated just wanting a jacket potato and cheese or some pasta and then remembering I HAD to have extra salad or fruit to make it free. I felt like I was eating more just for the sake of eating.0 -
i'm nearly two inches taller and am aiming for 10st 5.
Another two pounds lighter than that at 10 3 and I would have lost the magic 10% of body weight they talk about. I'll wait and see how I feel at 10 5 . Still about 5 pounds away.
I'm the same height as you and my target was 10st 7. At that weight I'm a skinny 12 but I've been more under my target than over.0 -
Good morning ladies - 2lb down this week but I'm still playing the 2 steps forward 1 step back game as I'm at the same point I was almost a month ago!
I seriously don't trust my scales at home and am going to start going to the local pharmacy as they have one of the big electronic ones - do you think anyone will notice if I take all my clothes off to weigh in!!!!!!!!!!!Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Well 4 days on Success Express and weigh in this morning.....
Bit fat stupid STS. I'm so cross - I've stuck rigidly to the plan, eaten fruit and veg til its coming out of my ears, had less than 10 syns each day, not had a drop to drink since last fri.
Going out tonight and planning 3 gin and slimline tonics whislt everyone else hits the cocktails but am seriously tempted to sack the whole thing off (I won't but I'm tempted...)People seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

When it says 1/3 of plate superfree did i read that someone was doing the day as a 1/3 superfree because i seem to be eating the 1/3 superfree then hardly touching the other stuff on the plate and then in between meals i am eating oranges and apples like they are going out of fashion so i'm worried i'm not enough of of the 'normal' stuff to lose any weight
Todays menu
B porridge and milk
L potato salad
T jacket potato, beans and salad
S: a million oranges and apples

It's infuriating when you know you've been good, and the scales blow a raspberry in your face. If you have stuck to the plan like you have said, you will have lost somewhere/how. Get out that tape measure write down the measurements of hips thighs arms chest etc.
One lady at group has gained sts and lost 4 lb over 2 months but she's 3 inches downsized.
Just stick to the plan, when in doubt look in your pack at the 7 days 7 ways for a little inspiration. Easy stuff on EE that are so simple you forget about them.0 -

See, I think we are better off since starting SW, there are 6 of us and we would do our 'big shop' and spend £200 on nothing, we would just get a trolley full of rubbish, the odd meal but not full of meals. Last month when I did my first SW big shop I think we spent £190ish and I got a trolley full of meat, veg, salad and fruit, tins and a few treats for the kids but it was the best shop we had ever done. Usually we would spend £100 per week topping up our big shop, now we spend a lot less topping up, probably £50 per week sometimes less, sometimes more. My plan for the end of this month is to spend £300 on my big shop then my weekly shops will hopefully be reduced to £20, because you do find when you go into a supermarket and you need bread and milk......you end up spending £30! I hate doing that but we all do it.0 -

Try and not get too downheartened Rach. What do you weigh, how tall are you and how much do you want to weigh. If you are near to goal weight or don't have much to lose it could be that you're sabotaging the plan by eating less. If I remember correctly you haven't been on SW very long so doing SE so early on might not be the right thing for you. Strange as it may seem, sometimes we have to eat more to lose.Mediterranean Mum

Morning Lalamb.:D I am the same, I plan a big shop and then just pop in. I've noticed that my shopping focus has improved along with my weight loss. Like PS71 I hate big shops at T. (as well as hating T for lots of other reasons)
Before SW my shop would be around £90 a week in 3 £30 visits. As you say, you go in for bread and come out with half a trolley of what you didn't need.
I shifted my big shop to Lidl. - I have to go out of my way but my weekly shop comes in at £35 including some alcohol, some living salad because doesn't go rotten before the end of the week! and all the veg and meat etc I need.
With £20 for bits that I can't get in there I am still up in the week by £35.
Does require a lot of planning though! Now I go in to Morrisons/Tescos/Sainsburys/Adsa totally set on what I am there for, (cheap mullers usually!!!) and don't come out with too much.
SW has really turned my bank balance about for the better.0
