EE is lots of meat and lots of potato/pasta/noodles every meal, red is for meat and fish lovers who can take or leave potato/pasta/noodles in large quantities, green is veggie and people who can take or leave meat in large quanities and mix to max lets you have the best of both worlds in one day.
Thank you so much for this really helpful summary of the differences between the diets. My club only ever really discuss EE (although I know that a lot of the 'older' members and bigger losers lost the bulk of their weight on red/green) and although I'm not a veggie, I'm not a big meat eater and often eat non-meat meals.
I think a mix of red and green days will suit me best.
Thanks again.If you're not scared, you're not paying attention0 -
Lost a pound last night. Feeling more positive.... Green today - Heres my menu:

Tea: SW chips, fried eggs and measured ham (HEB).

See, you can do it here's to next week too!
Ok I'm back, I haven't read everyone's posts since friday. Littlest has had a bad bout of thrush (2 hours sleep over fri/sat) Hubby's chest infection is back again..Antibiotics aren't touching it. Slightly worried about that. Uni Assignment completed all 4000 words in 5 days and handed in on deadline.
So thats me clear for summer.. so where's the sun? Who's hoarding?
:rotfl:
Weigh in tonight for me. - 3lb will mean 2.5 stone award.. so fingers crossed. Will catch up on everyones journey tommorrow!0 -
oh you will
you will find that its so much easier to stick to it, and so much nicer too!
when myself and my mum got our 4 stone awards we went to our (former) fav fast food restaurant, and it was rotten!!! (bearing in mind, we could hardly drive past it before SW)
We could still taste fat and grease in our mouths the next day :o
i brushed my teeth, tongue, roof of my mouth, gums, everywhere...and could STILL taste fat,
we havent been back!
how much would you like to loose in total lalamb?
I know that feeling already with an old favourite takeaway.....the thought of it makes me feel sick. I've had it once since starting SW and although I enjoyed it at the time(WI night and I was starving) the after taste was awful, it was with me the following morning too
I'm not sure exactly how much I would like to lose, but 4 stone would be a good start I think, maybe a little more. Really aiming for the 4 right now though. That would get me into a size 12 which I would be more than happy with.0 -
Not posted for a wee while, still going to SW every week, lost another 1.5lb on Monday, total loss now 13.5lb....10 weeks ago i rejoined SW weighing 11st.10..im now 10st. 10.5
...never had a gain, just a couple of STS.,not set an actual target weight..im 5ft7,and only just back into my size 12 skinny jeans, still a bit tight,so once they are comfortable that will be my target, whatever weight that happens to be on the day.LOL...im thinking maybe around the 10st.5 mark, should be a comfortable 12 for my height?
Slimming World..Wk1,..STS,..Wk2,..-2LB,..Wk3,..-3.5lb,..Wk4,..-2.5,..Wk5,..-1/2lb,Wk6,..STS,..Wk7,..-1lb.
Week 10,total weightloss is now 13.5lbs Week 11 STSweek 14(I think)..-2, total loss now 1 stone exactly
GOT TO TARGET..1/2lb under now weigh 10st 6.5(lost 1st 3.5lbs)0 -
i'm nearly two inches taller and am aiming for 10st 5.
Another two pounds lighter than that at 10 3 and I would have lost the magic 10% of body weight they talk about. I'll wait and see how I feel at 10 5 . Still about 5 pounds away.Norn Iron Club member 4730 -
Thanks FE for that great summary - I've copied it and pasted it on to paper and am going to print it out. Well done also on your loss and glad you've managed to get yourself back in gear.
Shellie sorry to hear what a difficult few days you've had but hope everyone is on the mend - good luck for WI this evening.
Piglet that greasy aftertaste is exactly what I'd like to bottle and have a whiff of whenever I'm tempted to stray. I feel so ill after eating anything greasy these days - it can take me two days to recover from it.
Still feeling really full from lunch today and can't face any supper. I'll probably have a piece of fruit and call it a day.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
I stayed the same at WI last night, and that was only because I breathed heavily OUT as I stepped onto the scales, I'm sure. Oh well, it'll come off eventually, trouble is I am now, at around 10 st give or take, the same weight as I was for years and years and felt just fine there. But now I keep wanting to be in the 9s. I was there briefly last year but drifted upward again. I know it's in my hands.have decided to make Butternut Squash and Roasted Red Pepper Soup...................what hard work was it peeling the butternut squash lol
Lets just hope it was worth the effort lol
I hope you enjoyed your soup - but you don't have to peel it. It feels like a really strong peel doesn't it, but it softens down in no time. A friend gave me that advice years ago, she doesn't peel them to roast either, just chops them up. I sometimes just steam butternut squash to go with my other food and again, just chop up leaving the peel on.:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

back to the discussions about EE/R/G. I tried SW a few years ago and lost nothing using Red and Green, I just got sooooo confused. When I restarted a couple of yrs ago when EE had just started it was a revelation and I had no probs. To be honest, I struggle to remember my one HEB most days on EE, not being a bread lover I just don't get the yearnings. On red and green the only things I'd want as HEBs are free to eat anyway with EE.
(I feel as if I'm typing in a secret code with all the initials :rotfl: ):jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

ETA Evilsquid, thank you for your post yesterday it's been super helpful. Now I have 3 days off work I can think about it a little more, I think I will be more of a green day person (and I love fruit and veg but am already a bit sick of trying to get it in every meal!!)OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0
