Made a really good lasagne this evening with veggie mince meat. I made up the filling with the veggie mince meat, chopped onions, tinned chopped tomatoes, tomato puree, Worcestershire sauce, salt and ground black pepper, chopped basil - cooked it all down for about 15 mins.
Topping was a tub of 1/2% soft white cheese, an egg and a ladleful of the soup liquid before I liquidized it, salt and ground black pepper - poured it over the top of the lasagne and then covered it with grated mozzarella.
Really, really tasty and the kids loved the topping. It's so good to know that you can feed your kids good healthy food and they enjoy it. Served it all with loads of stir fried veggies.Mediterranean Mum
hoping to lose 50lb by February 2013! 2st lost so far :j0 -
Thanks for that - i have been really good chocolate wise as i know if its there i will eat it - poor kids are in for a shock
If I were you I would buy one curly wurly a day (or whatever you decide your treat is going to be). I wouldn't have a stock in the house as that would be pure danger for me. You have to find what works for you. I don't have chocolate in my house at all and only have any kind of cakes and biscuits at the weekend but even that has been cut down. I do keep boxes of microwave popcorn. I hate the stuff but the kids love it so it works for me.Mediterranean Mum

On the red/green/extra easy/mix to match front - when I asked (my then consultant) about mix to match (many months ago)- could I do it - the answer was that I didn't need to, Extra Easy was the plan that I should follow if I wanted a mix to match day.
That shows a complete lack of knowledge on your consultants part as they are categorically NOT the same plan. The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -
thought I'd share a tip which might have obvious to others but wasn't to me!
I found a small kitchen bowl and use it to measure out 'thirds' of my plate when I'm having stuff thats mixed and harder to judge - so today I filled it with tomato salad put it on the side plate, filled it with pasta and chicken which I put in my pasta bowl, then filled with my peppers and tomato sauce - poured it over the pasta and chicken and tossed together in the bowl - hey presto 2/3 superfreePeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I have GOT to get back to SW as I have just sat down and had to take my trousers off as I feel so uncomfortable. I am at home by the way!:rotfl::rotfl:
I just cannot get in the right mood and have been putting off going for months. It is sheer laziness on my part and lack of motivation.0 -
I joined Slimming World this morning :j It's a bit confusing at first though isn't it? This is what I have had today, I'm doing EE:
Breakfast - Porridge (HEB) made with milk (HEA) and sliced banana.
Lunch - 4 slices of ham with fat free cottage cheese. Carrots, tomatoes, cucumber and apple. Babybel 3.5 syns.
Dinner - Cottage pie, I used 3.5 syns on a little gravy. I had half of my plate covered with cabbage and brocolli and then a good portion of the cottage pie.
I had some melon afterwards.
I have had a few glasses of water and a diet coke. Does this look right? I might have some fruit or some other free food this evening as I normally pig out on chocolate in the evening so I know I will want something.
Thanks in advance, you are all full of great info!Slimming World - 3 stone 8 1/2lbs in 7 months and now at target :j0 -

OK guys day 2, hope people don't mind me posting every day but I know I'll stray by the end of the week otherwise!
Struggled today as I decided to have a treatsize asda bubbly chocolate thing at lunch, and all it did was make me crave more bad food! So I gobbled up a load of fruit... wasn't the same but I resisted!
Anyway another thing I've found already is that when I've finished work (in a mental health unit) the last thing I want to do is cook, so my meals will seem a bit random on work days. Hopefully it'll get better and I can try out some of your recipes and recommendations.
Anyway today:
B: 1.5 shredded wheat (HEB) with banana and skimmed milk (from 375ml HEA)
L: Fresh king prawns on a bed of lettuce, tomato, spring onion and beetroot and a bit of pasta (about 1/2 of the meal was superfree)3 weight watchers cumberland sausage (1.5 syn) with carrots/peas/sweetcorn (1/3 of plate was superfree I think, just)
Snacks: 1 asda bubbly snacksize choc (2 syn), bowl of blueberries and grapes, bowl of mixed berries, 2 ww fruit yoghurts (syn free), handful of cherry tomatoes
Will probably end up having something sweet in a bit but something that is less than 5 syns I reckon.... also I haven't quite used all my milk yet, couple of cups of tea should do it, I've drunk flavoured sugar free water all day.OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

Peas and sweet corn aren't super free so it might not have been 1/3 unless you had masses of carrots which you may havealthough looking at the rest of your day you may be ok as some people go 1/3 of their day rather than meals. I don't do EE much so not really up on it. Give me green any day, carb junkie me :rotfl:
oh welcome aboard Dizzy's tank by the way :T:TIts not what you do but the way that you do it, thats what get results :T
