the groups are so focussed on EE that its just never explained that it only suits a certain type of person. theres 4 plans and you need to find out which one fits best for you.

This is certainly true of our group. EE is hammered home but there is no chat regarding green.red days because of this i am a little apprehensive to try them out incase i get the menu wrong :undecided

Why not post up a menu you're thinking about and we can tell you if its ok?

Green and red are super easy honestly!

Green: No meat unless synned or a B choice. Unlimited pasta, potatoes, couscous, rice, pulses, fruit, veg, salad

Red: Unlimited lean meat, fruit, salad, most veg (except peas, sweetcorn, parsnips, sweet potatoes and regular potatoes), no rice, pasta, couscous, pulses unless synned or a B choice.

Please dont be scared of them, generally they give better losses than EE. SW push EE because (a) people get there head around it easier apparently as its more 'normal' and in my opinion (b) it gives slower losses so you have to go to classes for longer = more money in SW pocket. But maybe i'm cynical....

    Morning all,

I was at my GP yest (Xenical time again)

She thought i looked fantastic :o, asked me what size i was, (im into a 12 now) and she said she really would not like to see me any smaller, and that she didnt think any smaller would suit me (i totally agree!)

she weighed me, (12 stone on the nose) and agreed with me that i was still "technically" overweight,

but added that if i lost just a few more lbs thru toning and maintaining that would be fine, but not much more,

she added that "being thin is not the be all and end all, and that being fit and healthy and taking a bit of exercise was more important than being thin"

she give me another script for Xenical,

fast forward to this morning, now i was 12.2 in SW class last week, 12.4 was target, 12.1 was my 6 stone award, so i was sure i got it, eps after weighing in at 12 on the nose yest afternoon,....

well....:mad::mad: this morning at class i was 12.4.5!!!

    a 2.5lbs GAIN!!! :mad::o

I just think i must be one of those people who is not lighter in the mornings (i always thought everyone was lighter in the mornings?)

why do i weigh so much heavier in class?:o:mad:

if i put ON 2.5lbs while trying to loose, what will happen if i try taking the extra HE's :D

ahh well, im still within target range, but i do think i might go back next monday night,

    thought anyone?

everyone lighter in the mornings here?

I've started to do mainly green days as its suits me better.
I aim to go EE if I need some more flexibility.

    Today will be

    B. Fruit & Fibre & milk (HEA & B)
    2 satsumas

    L. Rice with mushrooms, onion, peas & sweetcorn

    D. Pasta with passata & mushrooms & 90g RF Cheddar (HEA & B)

    S. Milky option 2syns
    Curlywurly 6 syns

    Total syns 8

  • I also thought everyone was lighter in the mornings Piglet but to be honest I have got so out of the habit (and it was a bad one) of weighing at all times of the day and night. I was one of those people who weighed myself every time I ate and every time I peed! Fortunately I've managed to break the habit and my next one is to get rid of the scales altogether and weigh only once a month at the pharmacy - that's the plan starting June 1st. I'm totally convinced that weighing ourselves every week is destructive because of the fluctuations with our hormones.

Try and not get too down about the gain because I'm sure it's not "real". You just keep on doing what you've been doing - you know it works.

That's really interesting. I only ever joined SW online and I never saw anything about mix to match. It sounds like it would really suit me; we try not to eat too much meat as we used to do low carbing which means tons of the stuff. It's expensive too. Can you still buy books etc that explain it all? I'd need a list of the hebs and heas if I was going to try it.

they don't give out mix 2 max (and success express) anymore in the packs from classes, there may be some on ebay if you look but they are a good few years old now. the R and G plans are still in the food optimising book (they are a bit hidden and will involve lots of flicking backwards and forwards now the book is set up for EE). the HEA and HEB lists for R and G are in the food optimising books from class and the website will have a complete list if you are still on it.

mix to max is basically choosing red or green on a meal by meal basis. so a red breakfast, green lunch and red tea (in any combination you want, and you can have "neutral" meals made up of purely SF or HE foods like cereal and milk). you get 2 HEA and 2HEB from either list but you must completely stick with the plan you chose for that meal so if you have a green lunch and want ham, the ham must be a HEB portion. all snacks/starters/desserts must be SF/HE or synned. you have 15 syns a day but you have to go with the higher syn values of things you eat so if you have pasta as a snack you have to take the red syn value for it.

if you try it, make sure you have a few purely G and R days first to get used to them and write everything down to keep track.

gunsandbanjos is right, they are really easy once you understand them. just read the books again and start at the pages outlining R and G, ignore the EE pages. i think G starts on page 28 in the new books. if you have any questions, we'll help you understand it, don't worry!

basically, on both days, eat all the stuff you want from the orange pages and the purple drinks & accompaniments page (ignoring 1/3 SF!) and on G anything on a green page is good and R anything on a red page. it might help if you have coloured tabs you can put on the sides of the books so you can instantly find anything free/HE for either plans without spending hours flicking back and forward.

if you are stuck, every other magazine still has a red/green weekly meal plan in (the may/june mag out now does).

    thanks,

i think i will go back to my class next monday night and see, while i still am in target, i had intended on going every week but now i am thinking of every fortnight,

last week i weighed in at nite and had 5lbs off, tho i didnt think that was a "real" weight either, i had been out drinking the day before, and may have been dehydrated. :o

i had a "google" there, and this is people who say they are also lighter at nite time, tho the majority do say they are lighter in the mornings,

people say they are lighter at night as they have exercised that day etc. i dont exercise before weigh in regardless of going to a night or morning class,

im thankful im still at target:D, but another week like that and i wont be,

im also cross there is such a difference in scales, if you only had a half stone / stone to loose, then 5lbs is a lot,

there is a girl at class who also got weighed at her gym and was 9lbs lighter!
