Green and red are super easy honestly!
Green: No meat unless synned or a B choice. Unlimited pasta, potatoes, couscous, rice, pulses, fruit, veg, salad
Red: Unlimited lean meat, fruit, salad, most veg (except peas, sweetcorn, parsnips, sweet potatoes and regular potatoes), no rice, pasta, couscous, pulses unless synned or a B choice.
Please dont be scared of them, generally they give better losses than EE. SW push EE because (a) people get there head around it easier apparently as its more 'normal' and in my opinion (b) it gives slower losses so you have to go to classes for longer = more money in SW pocket. But maybe i'm cynical....evilsquid1603 wrote: »
gunsandbanjos is right, they are really easy once you understand them. just read the books again and start at the pages outlining R and G, ignore the EE pages. i think G starts on page 28 in the new books. if you have any questions, we'll help you understand it, don't worry!
basically, on both days, eat all the stuff you want from the orange pages and the purple drinks & accompaniments page (ignoring 1/3 SF!) and on G anything on a green page is good and R anything on a red page. it might help if you have coloured tabs you can put on the sides of the books so you can instantly find anything free/HE for either plans without spending hours flicking back and forward.
if you are stuck, every other magazine still has a red/green weekly meal plan in (the may/june mag out now does).
Thanks very much . This is another example of how incompetent our groups SW consultant is. I asked when i first initially started about red/green days and i was told i should stick to EE because its easiest.
I do like pasta/rice etc but in all honesty i am a carnivore and LOVE meat. Ok i am going to bite the bullet & try a red day tomorrow
Breakfast - will have scrambled eggs and turkey rashers
L - Turkey salad - using rocket,Turkey chunks, rest of mushrooms, peppers, carrot, beetroot & celery topped with HEX A cheese?
D - Pork stirfry, or SW quiche made with tuna with HEX B SW chips?
Does this look ok? Not sure what i can for another hex a & b?? Anyone got any suggestions??:undecided

Looks perfect. Have some toast with your breakfast? An A of cheese on your quiche? Or on your chips, mmm chips and cheese yum! Olive oil is a B, so use a tablespoon for your stirfry or to do your chips in.The trouble with the world is that the stupid are cocksure and the intelligent are full of doubt.Bertrand Russell0 -

I love chips & cheese..*drools* . I think i will probably choose the quiche option actually as also have some FF cottage cheese that needs using before the 17th.

I often do these days and they are great as i hate EE.
You get 2A and 2B choices and you decide what plan you are doing each meal from. Sounds complicated but its really not.
I tend to have a neutral breakfast of weetabix(B), banana and yoghurt
Green lunch of homemade lentil soup and maybe a breadroll(B)
Dinner would be red - roast chicken and salad.
You have to be a little careful - you need to syn anything at each meal time according to the plan you are on. If i had a potato at dinner i'd have to syn it in line with a red day, meat at lunch would be synned as a green day.
Snacks should be superfree. Syns as normal.
Its one of my favourite plans, my weeks are mostly green or mix to max. I dont do EE at all really.
I think Mix to Match used to be my favourite plan. I found my old book the other day so will have to re-read up on Mix to Match and success express. (assuming the "safe place" I put the book means I can find it again!) I might have to have a browse on the SW site and see if the plan is mentioned on there....rainbowfairydust wrote: »Thanks very much . See Extra Easy is as the name suggests, easy but it doesn't work for everyone and in our group there was much debate about the plan. Those from the red/green camp hated it but new members who had never done SW before loved it?
I'm not sure why SW promote it so heavily (i.e. its the only plan explained to new members) because there is still the red and green plan that members can follow.
Menu wise, I would be tempted to have two HEB options of SW chips and perhaps another A option of cheese if you aren't having milk.0 -

i don't know if its official SW policy to ignore R and G or if they simply cant be bothered sitting and going through 3 plans when they can get away with one. with my recent new member talks they only seem to mention G as "if you are veggie, go away and read the green pages and do the G choice"
i like ryvitas and philly for a A and B snack if i have some left0 -

It would have been nice if our SW consultant could have explained the red/green days & offered some sample menu suggestions rather than just hammering home EE. I notice that they do this to everyone who is new to group. I think its a bit naughty not to explain all the plans properly and give people the option of choosing their own plan
Quick question - do i need to weigh out my meat? Or is it unlimited? (so to speak) . Is there an allowance for the potatoes (weight wise).

on red you can literally sit down and eat half a cow for dinner and wash it down with caviar if you felt so inclined. its completely unlimited and free from the 1/3 SF rule.
potatoes are a HEB, it will say in your book on the red pages, there will be a special red list of HEB. i think its about 118g, but check it. works out at a pretty decent sized jacket potato.0 -
If you're doing EE then yes meat and potatoes are unlimited as long as they are cooked in SW way, ie Frylight, boiled, grilled. All fat needs to be removed from meat otherwise it needs to be synned.

Im finding the green versus red debate very interesting!!!!
From my experience (ive lost 2.5 stone) i don't lose with Green and i don't have significant losses with red - maybe less than EE.
I follow EE - I only eat meat once a day most days as my other half is veggie - but this is because i simply don't lose weight on green. Our class was told only one HEA for green as well - whereas some people can have two and still lose significantly. I wish green did work for me as it would suit me better not to force myself to eat meat. Im not sure of the science behind it, or how i gain or lose very little with green but it just shows how different things work for different people. :A
I thought the older plans like Mix to match had been replaced by Extra easy - the fact they aren't in the books any longer would make me wonder why . Has anyone asked in their class about them?
I guess different things work for different people and it's very much a matter of suck it and see.:o I could never be full on red days - so much meat is a bit bleuck for me
Flateric - did you sort your breakfasts out? :AA little nonsense now and then is relished by the wisest men

Zippy it's interesting that you say that because that's been my experience too. I don't like meat or fish enough to give a whole day to them and if I do a whole day green then I feel extremely bloated. The mix n match sounds interesting though and I hadn't heard about it until this discussion.
It would be interesting to know what a consultant has to say about this so if someone is going to club tonight maybe you could ask about it and see what they say. I've heard different versions of the mix n match plan so it would be difficult to follow without knowing the exact details.Mediterranean Mum
