i was basically left to it though. there was no need to ask me "what did you do?" because it wasn't what the rest of the group needed to hear and "what meals did you eat?" every single week just got boring. i felt like i got nothing out of going anymore so i just stopped. they say we're welcome back for life but there is literally nothing to go back to class for apart from getting weighed and if you have mates there you want to see. all the groups I've been to have only one or two target members still attending, and they are recent targets, I've never seen a long term target member keep going, even just appearing once a month.
At my group there are two ladies who've been target members since long before I originally joined around 3 yrs ago. They go up and down, but they are definitely part of the group because the consultant asks them for advice to give to newbies, and to others who have reached target etc. Plus, they are the social secretaries of the group, doing the weighing etc.hollowhead wrote: »Well done to all those who lost:T:T:T:T:TSome brilliant losses there:T.
Took the plunge and joined a class today:o Think I have got My head around it , but I can't imagine I can eat all that food and still loose weight;).
Today I have had:
B;Mullerlight Yogurt
L: 2 small slices wholemeal bread -HE B Salad &hamBeef casserole out of recipe book, jacket potato and cabbage followed by Mullerlight.
Milk in tea as HE A
Does this mean I have used no syns so far?
Can You save your Syns for a couple of large glasses of wine at the wekend?;)
250 ml is 8.5 syns (red) or 8 syns (white) so you only have to save about 2 syns from a previous day to allow 2 big glasses on one night! Or just go for 175 ml glasses and you are within syns anyway - do it every night if you want! (PS I just looked up the syns in the book I HONESTLY don't know them all off by heart!)
Well done all you losers - whew 7 lbs offffffff! I'm trying last week's strategy and have had extra HEBs today hoping for some toilet action tomorrow before WI. But reading through the last few pages I could just have 4 ryvita on Mondays couldn't I, and still be within normal HEBs. I quite like Ryvita with big gollops of Marmite in all the little dimples.
Someone way back there was saying to a newcomer to think about your favourite meals .... I do think that is excellent advice as most favourite meals (home cooked ones anyway) can be made SW friendly. One thing I've discovered since starting SW is that things I didn't like before (cottage cheese, fromage frais, rice pudding, bread) I don't like any better on SW! I have though just had a lovely dessert this evening - a portion of Hartleys sugar free orange jelly, a chopped up kiwi fruit, and some frozen raspberries rammed into a Mullerlight (toffee but any would do) yoghurt until it turns thicker & icy ..... the only thing that would've improved it would have been a meringue and I don't allow myself to buy those because I ermmmmmm... eat them all up at once.:rotfl::jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

I have noticed that the most successful among us keep the syns well down. My general food , main meals is good but i think I over do the syns.
I baked today and have just had two chocolate sponge type buns. No icing, just a bun case of sponge.Oh& I now remember a few olives pre dinner.
I wonder what that would be in syns?
I think I may need to start keeping a food diary again. such a pain though.
Plain fairy cakes with no icing are 4 syns each so i would think your choc buns will be similar; and 8 olives are 1 syn so not too bad.
I save my syns for the weekend so unless I am out for a night on the booze I'm unlikely to go over my full allowance and it keeps me on track but it doesn't work for everyone. I think that because I don't eat bread or milk I still have my HEs for snacky things so I'm not using my syns on that, and I've gone cold turkey on chocolate so not using them on that either.
One of the ladies at my group had a good idea for keeping track of syns - she has magnetic numbers on her fridge and counts them down as she uses them throughout the week then she knows exactly what she has left at any time,Mortgage Aug 22 £280,000

Well done to everyone's losses!
My first day on SW - can someone have a look to see if I'm doing anything wrong? My only bad bit was I ended up in a 6 hour stint at work where I was so hungry but could not leave the room and the only thing in the vicinity was 3 bourbon creams..... oops.
Breakfast - 30g weetabix minis (HEB), skimmed milk (taken from 375ml HEA), 1 sliced banana
Lunch - 1 sweet potato mashed, carrots, peas, sweetcorn, half a ww cherry yogurt (0 syns), mixed berries
Dinner - bacon medallions, scrambled egg, tomato, mushroom, courgette
Snacks - 3 bourbon creams (10.5 syn), special K red berries bar (4 syn)
Any recommendation/comments?OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

You seem to be doing OK littlestar. All I'd comment on is that with your lunch the peas and sweetcorn aren't superfree but with the carrots and berries you've probably got your third in. It's that some people assume that they must be SF becasue they're veg. Shame about the bourbons but you did manage to saty within syns! Good Luck!
Hollowhead, I got all the way to target by saving syns for weekend wine. I prefer to drink what I want at weekends rather than have a small glass during the week but whatever suits you best. I think the glory of syns is that it stops you feeling deprived and on a 'diet' but it's just a cse of prioritising what you'd miss most of all. In my case obviously the wine!:o0 -

I'd say it's more of a 'mix to match' day so you'd be allowed more HEs? Someone correct me if I'm wrong0 -

Is mix and match different to extra easy? I was trying to follow extra easy.
Maman thanks for looking at it, I did make sure at least 1/3 of my plate was a superfood (it was probably coming up to half) but its good to be reminded as it can easily fall down with me!!!I also have been eating lots of fruit on the superfoods list straight after my meal to make sure I'm eating enough.
Onto day 2... I tell you what though,I wasn't hungry at all yesterday, I can normally eat for England :rotfl:OU Student! - ED209, SDK125, DSE212, SK124, DSE141, SD226, DXR222, DD303, DD307 = BSc Psychology0 -

I'd have a bit more prptein at lunch - ham, chicken or some pulses to keep you feeling nice a full longer and swap either peas or corn for a superfree but other wise looks greatPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

I struggle with the "skater movement" as I too have laminate but I do it on the rug so I don't hurt my back when doing the abs, funny sight in my house last night :rotfl::TGratitude is the best Attitude :T
