hi everyone, i started WW online last year and lost 6stone 5lbs but then for the past 3 months after being 3lbs from goal i am now 1 stone away from it no matter what i did i put weight on (i am an exercise demon now though!) so now i'm thinking of joining slimming world but i notice the online membership is considerably more than the WW membership so I just wanted to know if it was worth it or if it is cheaper to go to the classes or if anyone could give me any starting tips or anything thanks in advance x

That's excellent, very well done. That's a lot of weight to lose, 1 stone is nothing in comparison, it will be easy on SW.
Lots of good advice and recipes here.
    Good luck x x

Total loss = 5 stone 12.5 lbs. / But now GAINED 1 STONE 1.5 LBS!!

    Good evening

WI for me tonight and I lost 1.5lb :j really pleased considering what I ate over the weekend but I feel doing the 30 shred twice and the banish fat boost metabolism twice this week has helped a lot! Going to aim for 5 days a week of intensive workouts like the ones mentioned and try and go swimming twice a week. I was going to join the gym but those workouts feel more effective, only time will tell I suppose.

    Brilliant lalamb,
    good going, :j
keep up the good work! x x

there is a fashion show being held in a local hotel next friday nite, for a local hospice,

all the models are SW members, some at target, some not, some struggling, some not,

and i have been asked (brow beaten) to model :eek::eek:

its all hair, tan, make up, etc, i didnt have as much fuss for my own wedding,

but, it does feel really good to wear clothes that actually fit right for a change:D

there are going to be 8 dif SW dishes on the menu as well,

part of me is sooooooooooooo nervous, and the other part....cant wait.

you had to submit a "before" photo to be flashed around the big screens as you walk the catwalk...:o:o:o:eek::eek::eek:

lets hope the big screens are not HD, or wide screen....cause my before pic is....:o:eek::o

Piglet, that sounds fantastic! Enjoy it, and it would be fab if you could put a photo here of your makeover!
    Brilliant lalamb,
    good going, :j
keep up the good work! x x

Gettingthere, I love you and all, but PLEASE could you do regular black text, I can't read the stuff in pastel colours and I'm worried you might be saying something flattering about me and I shall miss it :rotfl:

Well I had a sh1tty day today, glaring at pc screen trying to compare 3 different databases. They were meant to be the same but were waaaaaaay out .... anyway, colleague who is newly discovering baking, brought in two tins of erm caky things, one with apple and cinnamon and one with pecan and chocolate. I ended up having one of each, though 4 grumpy hours apart. Very nice, though I'm not a big cake fan. But we didn't want her to have to take them home again, it being her first ever home made contribution to our fat waists. No syns for me for two days now :rotfl:

Hello new people! Someone asked about joining a group, I'd say go for it even if just for a few weeks until you really get the hang of it, otherwise you can be merrily doing things wrong and not realising. Also, some group members are such fun and you do end up caring about them and their little gains and big losses, and they care back - which is nice.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Ok, no worries, will do :rotfl: your funny!
I had a !!!!!! day too, glad it's nearly over.
I got talking to a woman last night at class and she had about a stone to lose. She could not understand why she had only lost 1.5 pound in just over 6 weeks. She said she had been dead good, followed the plan but was puzzled why she was not getting the losses. Turned out that she was not following any of the plans properly. For instance she was having yogurt and 1 weetabix for breakfast, 2 bananas for lunch and not much more for tea, I told her you cannot pick and choose what you want out of all three plans, you must follow one or the other, she was also not having any syns. Poor lady must have been starving.
So I went through the different plans with her and told her that you have to follow it to the letter, have at least 10 syns every day and most of all enjoy. She was really grateful to me but if she had taken her time to actually read the books she would have understood sooner.

Hark at me giving good advice out :rotfl: I ain't followed the plan today, just had toast, beans, banana and peas.
could not be ar**d but I have not cheated, just not ate enough.
    :D

evening all - we had a super dooper healthy tea and the family actually enjoyed it....I laid everything out on wee serving dishes and filled the table with them for us all to help ourselves - makes a change from me heaping everything on their plates and plonking it in front of them!

jersey tatties, selection of cold meats and cheeses, loads of salad stuff, sweetcorn, beetroot, boiled eggs.

I avoided the cheeses and stuff like salami and had tatties, beetroot, eggs, green salad, sweetcorn, mixed salad and cooked chicken. It was really really good!

Can someone link me to the mexican bake? i can't seem to find it. Made the baked bean lasagne and it was delicious!!!!!

Flat eric - i cook up a batch of bacon to keep in the fridge. Every morning i put half a tablespoon of very low fat mayo (half a syn) on the bread, ding the bacon for ten seconds in the micro - then put it in my bread as a sandwich. Then i eat it an hour or two later on once i get into work and seated. Egg mayo sandwich is another option, or chicken and bacon sandwich - nom nom. Toastie made and taken to work isnt bad once cooled either. Spanish omelette is a great portable eat any time option

    Zip

    Wow - sounds amazing!

    Here it is Zip -

    Mexican Bake
3 sweet potatoes, peeled and cut into small cubes
1 large red onion, peeled and chopped
    1 red pepper, cubed
    1 tomato, cubed
couple of handfuls of frozen sweetcorn
    tin of baked beans
tin of sliced mushrooms, drained and washed
    oregano
    black pepper
    chili flakes
    135g grated mozzarella

    1. Boil the potatoes and drain when just ready.
    2. In some frylight, saute the onion then add the red pepper and tomato.
    3. Add the mushrooms and sweetcorn and mix well.
    4. Add a couple of teaspoons of oregano, a good shaking of chili flakes and a few grinds of black pepper.
    5. Add the baked beans and combine all together.
    6. Pour into a casserole and sprinkle the grated cheese on top.
    7. Bake in the oven until the cheese has melted and browned.

Ah thanks - I was going to post to ask for the recipe. Looks yummy.

Hmmm another day off plan for Flat Eric. Not sure why, when I weigh at the heaviest I have been since I joined SW that I continue with the self sabotage but ho hum very few chocolate syns remain in my house. Have a chilli planned for Saturday with
LOTS of superfree for the weekend. Hopefully I can at least be good some of this week.

Oh FE ((())) - getting to the bottom of all the emotional stuff thats wrapped up with our eating/ over eating/ self sabotage is so tricky - its the hardest bit but probably the biggest piece in the puzzle for some of us (def is for me)...what do you think is going on for you when you do it?

Hello everyone. Well done to all you losers. Hugs for the strugglers.

I STS at weigh in last night. I was really disappointed as I had been on plan all week, mixed up my meals, drank loads more water, watched portion size, all the things that our consultant suggested. I'm still 8 st 13lb which means still 5lb to get back into target range.

Trouble is I was so fed up I ate everything in sight when I got home (which is not normally like me). I've not been too bad today but not completely back on plan. Don't know what to do, I'm feeling so down.

    Sorry for moaning. x

Nice idea that K&F and deals with all the picky eaters who I know I have and probably most others do too!

Come on FE - get with me this week - we're going to nail this bloody plan and get our !!!!!! in gear this week!!!!!!! Enough of us both feeling sorry for ourselves!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Started well this morning - FF vanilla yoghurt, banana and lots of frozen mixed berries - really yummy and so different to the type of breakfast that I normally have.
