its not in the newer books - it was issued as an extra booklet with both M2M and SE in, in the older packs. your consultant might have a copy or it might be on the net somewhere still.

if you were doing a red fry up, the beans would have to be your HEB or synned. the egg is a red free food so you can add that and pineapple is SF.

if you don't 100% understand R and G days avoid it completely, you'll just end up in a muddle over what counts for what and what you've had. i'd def keep a record of what you've eaten too, on EE you get so used to munching R and G free food together having some of it count as HEB at tea that was free at lunch just gets confusing if its not written down.

also forgot to add, on M2M, all snacks and starters/desserts that aren't SF or HE have to be synned. its more like SE lite without the 2/3 SF than a way to have R and G on the same day.

    thanks for that,

i can see how it would be confusing....or more so...how i would get confused,

i do green day on thursday,(as i be in a hurry from work to circuit training) and on that day i have boiled eggs and toast, cause that the only "handy" meal i understand on green days,

maybe i will just keep going the EE way,

Medmum- i must admit i'm a bit sad reading you so disheartened. (I'm a few pages back so hoping you have cheered up since!) You're one of my favourite posters in this thread (:o) so get your chin up, get focused and get the good results you know you can. :A

I've now lost 2 and a half stone with slimming world. It's taken me 43 weeks!:o:p Nearly there.

Thanks ZC that's very sweet of you and a woman after my own heart - at this rate it'll take me 43 weeks to lose 1 and a half!!!!

I'm still here - not 100% on plan but trying to get my head back in gear. I've been eating watermelon like it's going out of fashion so having plenty of SF but eating too many syns. WI tomorrow and it's not looking good but I reckon if I keep coming in here every day I'll soon get back on track.

I cannot get my head around the green and red days although I feel I should as this might get me back on track and some weight off. I'm more a pasta person than a meat person so I guess I should be looking at green but then I kind of get stuck - what do I serve with the pasta/lasagne - only veggie sauces?

If someone has some suggestions that would help. I can't get quorn here although they have started selling veggie mince meat but don't know how many syns to count it as.

    Thanks for replies
Are you doing EE here? If you are you probably need more superfrees - esp at lunchtime. Beans may be free but they're not superfrees..

yes doing EE, sorry should have added would have banana and fruit salad with lunch,
doe - why don't you put your milk for the day in a measuring jug - that way you can keep tabs on how much milk you have left/are drinking.

    !

have milk in fridge but most of the tea I had yesterday was not at home, have bought some lemon tea today so will use it when not at home so I am not using extra milk.

I have my pasta/ rice with a HEA B portion of meat/ fish / cheese - so tongiht I'm having kedgeree made with a ton of rice, some lentils, egg and a bit of smoked salmon, or I'll have rice with a veg and prawn thai curry

  • Lentils and beans work well in veggie dishes MedMum, and another thing is to grate veg for a different texture i.e. grated carrots and courgettes in pasta dishes are lovely!

Does the SW site not give any syn value for the veggie mince?

You can serve a meat sauce like with mince in or bacon for a carbonara but it has to be HEB measured amount of meat or synned. The extra HEB you get is so you can still include a bit of meat if you want on a green day.

You can only use the site to calculate syns if you're a member and I'm not! Thanks for the idea about the grated veg which I actually do in my frittata but never thought to do with pasta. Got some tatties in the oven baking at the moment and still trying to think what to have with them.

OK got it - but if I have veggie mince does that also have to be HEB and measured or is that not counted as HEB?

  • Hi guys. Not enough hours in the day for me this week :wall: too much to do, no time to do it all- paused for a cuppa. Sorry I haven't been on as much. Assignment week - I'm half way done.
Lots of good stuff might be happening - it's in the still cooking phase of development though.

Bad week to start attempting flylady stuff.
Wow some excellent - jaw dropping losses.. well done Piglet, Cyclingyorkie.
Hello to Pt71 and ..itsapuzzle - welcome to a very friendly and helpful crowd of people that are in it to lose it. (must be the only MSE thread where we celebrate losing pounds:rotfl:)

Hopefully will catch up with everyone at the otherside of the weekend ... keep focused guys - and I forget who said it, but yes I am a cynic too - target weights and maintaining is not a done thing unless you are willing gain, we have a lady thats been yo-yoing paying some weeks not others and doesn't get why she can't STS. Hardly going to happen when you've spent ages untraining your habits against that.
The art in maintaining is uping HEA&B's to start with, not syns. (More bread, cheese, milk. )
